We recently did a large home renovation with Renovation Experts. The scope of work included on the main floor: a partial wall removal to increase the size of our living and family room area, removal of popcorn ceilings, removal of large wood burning fireplace, installation of pot-lights, one remodeled main floor bathroom and a new gas fireplace, and on the second floor two remolded bathrooms; and painting primarily on the main floor and 50% of the second floor.
We found Stan and his site foreman David to be very considerate of our comfort by keeping the work area safe and relatively clean, and by keeping us informed what was planed to be worked on days ahead. Work was conducted on week days only.
As for quality of work, we are extremely pleased. Stan has hired a great team of contractors. The workmanship is excellent. Everybody who came to work at our home was very professional and pleasant to deal with. David the site foreman was always there when you needed him.
Stan Boigon, the owner of Renovation Experts managed the project according to budget and time. Stan was also very accessible, and prompt with returning calls and emails. His billing was very accurate, and he gave very fair allowances. He provided a good itemized billing with an excel spreadsheet that was easy to read and explained all costs and add-on’s if applicable. He worked very well with our designer.
Overall, this renovation was a very positive experience for my wife and me. We were referred to Renovation Experts by my daughter who had a very good experience with them as well. We feel extremely fortunate that we chose Renovation Experts.

We hired Renovation Experts to complete the renovation of the main floor to our house. The work involved installing the ceramic and backsplash for a new kitchen, relocating plumbing to the new island, electrical work for undermount and in-cabinet lighting as well as new fireplace, replacing hardwood flooring, redoing the stairway and powder room, painting all the main floor and creating a 17-foot feature fireplace wall for our family room. Along the way, the project grew to also include replacing all the main floor doors and trim, the hardwood in the upstairs hallway, and the building of a new linen cabinet for the upstairs. Given the size of the renovation and knowing that it would take approximately three months to complete, we wanted to ensure that we hired someone reputable and who we could see ourselves working well with, especially if any problems arose. For these reasons we met with five general contractors. We were very impressed with Stan from our first meeting with him. Not only did we find him to be very knowledgeable and organized, but very personable too. Stan was always quick to respond to calls or emails and to provide suggestions when needed. Once the work began Dave, the site supervisor, was at our house almost everyday to ensure that everything went well. He was very professional and also well organized, he had great attention to detail, and made sure to always keep us informed about what would be going on next. Stan and Dave
were in constant communication with each other to further assist with the coordination of everything. They have a wonderful group of trades people that they are involved with. We found all of them also to be very professional, polite and very good at what they do. We are thrilled with how every part of our renovation turned out and could not have hoped for things to have gone more smoothly. Stan arrived on time to go over our needs and look at the site. He took measurements and discussed options. His quote followed the following week. All work was done by professionals and all were friendly and very neat. The scheduling was great as one trade finished the next was ready. The start to finish timing was 5 weeks. We are totally happy and pleased. These are the guys to do your project.

7 years ago Stan and his team did an exceptional job extending our living space by completely renovating our basement. So when we decided that we need to renovate our kitchen we considered Stan's team as our first candidate to do the job. Stan provided us with a competitive quote and helped us with ordering the kitchen at Ikea. He scheduled the project for the time that was (mostly) convenient for us, in the middle of the summer when kids were at overnight camps. Stan assigned a project manager, David, to coordinate the trades and materials and make sure that the work proceeded smoothly and on time.

Kitchen renovation is a complex project with many possible pitfalls on the way (actually turned out quite a bit more tricky than the basement reno). Stan and David have managed those well, being responsive to our requests and in the end of the day we really like our new kitchen and consider the project as success.

There were two things that could be done better:

1. The initial project plan must include time for backsplash manufacturing, which in our case took almost two weeks. As a result the whole project took much longer than expected. We could have prepared better if we knew that we would need to live 6 weeks without a kitchen.

2. Better requirements gathering from the clients to avoid rework (which sometimes can be still unavoidable). This will also make the project more cost-efficient and customers happier in the end of the day :).

Our goal was to finish our basement so that it was truly an extension of our living space and that the family would truly enjoy. Stan and his team were fantastic.
Our first challenge was finalizing a design (each contractor brought their own ideas, so it was impossible to compare such differing quotes), so Stan referred us to a designer. With a finalized design, Stan's help through that process, as well as his very detailed quote, we were very comfortable choosing Stan as our contractor.
Throughout the process, there was continuous communication--it was always easy to reach Stan by phone, text, or email--so we could work through the numerous decisions and problem-solving that are inherent in any major renovation. We were so pleased with Stan and his team's solution-focused approach to ensure that all the details were well taken care of, which included coming up with many creative solutions. We loved the attention to detail.
At the end of the process, we did not have any regrets in working with Stan and his team, and have gladly referred him to several other friends and neighbours, all of whom have been very pleased with their renovation experiences with Stan.

Our house required complete overhaul. This year we decided to start with the second floor and Stan and his team did a great job! When we go upstairs it's like as if we are walking into a completely different house. Looking forward to working with Stan again to complete the rest of our house!

Stan and his team worked on our kitchen reno 3 years ago and we were so pleased with the work we chose them again for our master bathroom reno. Stan and his team were professional and accommodating from the start. Stan took the time to understand what we wanted and then used his many years of experience to offer suggestions on how we can improve what we envisioned. The scope of work was very large: finished basement; over haul of main floor including movement of walls, removal of popcorn ceilings, installation of pot-lights, and installation of a brand new kitchen; new upstairs bathroom; hardwood flooring and painting throughout the house. During this renovation, we chose to live in our home. We found Stan and his team to very considerate of our comfort by keeping the work space safe and tidy, and by planning the work to minimize disruption.

As for quality of work, we are extremely pleased. Stan has hired a team of contractors that clearly have a tremendous amount of pride in their work. The workmanship is excellent, and there was no concern with correcting things that were not exactly to our liking. Everybody who came to work at our home seemed very focused on our happiness and on producing a great end result.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not comment on Stan Boigon, the owner of Renovation Experts. Stan managed the project according to budget and time. He was very patient with our questions, and given his breadth of experience, was able to assist us with finalizing our choices along the way. Overall, this renovation was a very positive experience for our family. We interviewed many companies before offering the work to Renovation Experts. We entered into the project feeling apprehensive as we had heard many horror stories from friends who had experienced difficulties with contractors. These fears quickly subsided when it became apparent how professional the company was. We feel extremely fortunate that we chose Renovation Experts.

Stan Boigon of Renovation Experts project managed our project. Like all projects of this size there were a few tense moments. However Stan worked with us and we managed to work our way through to the next milestone. Stan was very helpful in guiding us through many choices we had to make with regards to flooring, tiles, paint selection etc. We are very happy with our renovated house and are enjoying it. All our friends love our house.

We met with 6 basement contractors before deciding upon Stan and Basement Experts because of his personable nature and his ability to understand our vision for our basement renovation. He took our design ideas and offered suggestions, many of which we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. Basement Experts also offers a 2-year warranty, so they were able to address a couple of issues like squeaky floor panels.

Our basement was completed in October of last year, and 10 months later, we are happy to report that we still love it! Guests always compliment us on the quality and professional appearance. Materials were top notch, and we were especially happy Stan was able to raise most of the vents to achieve a higher ceiling for our basement. During construction, the crew was nice to communicate with and clean-up at the end of the day was great.

Having said all that, we were quite stressed toward the end of the project. We were expecting a child, and while the bulk of the work was completed several weeks later than expected, there were lingering issues (electrical inspections) that pushed the final completion date. Luckily, everything was done a week before baby arrived!
