El Cheapo Movers Ltd.

The fist time I used this company very impressed. The last time (1 month ago) ended up with 1.5h late pick up, disorganized van unable to pack the same furniture from first move, and scratches and dents. For quick and dirty moves OK...but if it's valuable think twice.

We have just done major renovations in our home, and had El Cheapo movers in to move our household goods out of the renovation area, and back in afterwards. On both occasions from the person on the phone, to the movers that came to our house, we were more than pleased, in fact the best moving experience we've ever had. Organized, polite, communicative & good movers too. We will definitely use El Cheapo again, and will recommend them to others.

I booked the 12:30pm slot, but since they had a previous job that lasted until 4pm, they didn't arrive until 5pm. Needless to say, I was upset, especially because I had to deal with the condo management to keep my elevator time slot available. However, they compensated their lateness by providing 3 movers for the price of 2. They were sincerely apologetic about the uncontrollable circumstances and started my move right away, at top speed!! My new house is >20km away, and they completed the move within 4.5hr. They were careful with my furniture, and even though I have no A/C in a scorching day, they still move tirelessly. Ernest, Eric and Lester, you are the man! Took one star off because they are late, but they are definitely the best movers I've had.

El Cheapo was GREAT! They came with 3 guys, all very friendly and genuinely nice. We were expecting to be done by 1-2pm however it went all the way until 5pm! not their fault, it's just that my wife and I didn't realize just how much stuff we really had. We were forced to do two trips. These 3 guys worked really really hard, hardly taking breaks and never complaining. I've had friends recommend them and now I see why. 5 stars easy. good job el cheapo! and the price was great compared to the competition.

We moved most of our boxes to our new home ourselves and just wanted a moving company to move the furniture and bulky items. Some quotes we obtained were outrageous - El Cheapo was by far the most reasonable. As another reviewer stated, they are not white glove (my furniture and flooring sustained a few scratches), but they seem like honest guys who get the job done quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them.

We were very happy with the El Cheapo movers. The contract was spelled out to me on the phone and was very clear on the charges. I called 10 days before the moving day to let them know we had more boxes than we had thought, so on the day of the move, they sent a 3-man crew instead of the two man we discussed originally, for a small increase in fee. We were relieved to be able to move even more quickly! The crew arrived within the time slot (12 to 2 pm) and worked hard for about 5 hours. They were very efficient and friendly, and didn't waste any time. I highly recommend them.

That's what's written on the side of their trucks, and that's how I found these guys the first time we used them, after I stopped laughing! Can't say enough about their great service to us, but it also caught me by surprise that they paid the tax for my mother's move because she is a senior! We're very happy to recommend El Cheapo to anyone in Toronto with a small move.

I moved with El Cheapo in October of 2007 from my basement apartment to my current apartment building. They arrived on time, and worked quickly, even though they had to move all my furniture through a narrow alleyway. They finished in less time than I budgeted for, and nothing was damaged. I am moving again in December, hope they are free!

I hired El Cheapo for the third time to move items we had "in storage" at my parents' place (about 50 boxes and a couple of chairs/ottoman). Jeff and Georgie (i think!) were polite, really quick (30 minutes to load) and even helped us move two display units when we got to the new place. They were careful about not damaging our walls, drywall and contents and I am pleased with their work. I'm also happy to patronize a company that does charitable work during their free time! Highly recommended!

This is the first time I've used movers; based on reviews on Homestars and some personal recommendations we went with El Cheapo. Their level of service is just right. They aren't white-gloved, but they aren't scary shady people either. On the contrary, our 2 workers, and Toby at the head office were extremely polite and professional. El Cheapo is perfect for anyone who is tired of moving by themselves and don't want to pay an arm and a leg.
