Going with Greenpark will easily be the biggest mistake of our lives. We sincerely regret not getting another Monarch house. We bought a new house so we wouldn't have to put up with the shoddy workmanship of a previous owner, who thinks they're a professional. Sadly, that's the kind of workmanship we got.
=> A couple highlights to show you what kind of a disaster you are getting into. For the full list, click my name and pull up my website. It's at 35 issues and counting...
=> Complained of an apparent water leak coming in from the attic. Took them 10 days to respond. They don't have any kind of phone coverage for evenings, weekends or holidays. The only way I could get an acknowledgement out of them was to post it on their Facebook wall. Bad press will get a response within the hour! When the guy finally came over to check it out, he dismissed it without even going up to the attic for a look.
=> The grout in part of the floor in the master ensuite was not actually grout, but plaster. Any contact with water would cause it to dissolve instantly. They sent out a guy to fix it, but the new grout was not done right, and rubs off onto your hand if you touch it. We complained and they sent out another guy, who looked at it and thought that we were the ones who did the awful grout job. Unfortunately I wasn't at home when this guy was there, so I don't know what exactly he did, but there's no difference. As well, they both put bright white grout down, while the grout on the rest of the floor is beige.
=> The drywalling is TERRIBLE. We easily have a hundred nail pops. All the baseboards, countertops and staircases have moved away from the walls by a few millimeters. Sagging ceilings. And I challenge you to find two walls that meet at a 90 degree angle.
=> They put the hose tap in the garage right where the driver's side door on my car swings. So I was unable to park my car in my own garage. Their response was that it was by design. However, when you look at the walls in the garage, they put a blue spraypaint dot on the back wall where the tap was supposed to be. Again, the only way I could get them to fix this was to post their stupidity on their Facebook wall, for all the world to see.
=> We bought our place from someone who was flipping the house before it was actually finalized by Greenpark. Since it was flipped at this point, we didn't get to choose any options, but we still get the Tarion coverage. Sadly, the majority of the countless issues I have are not covered under warranty.
