Ikea - North York

I put in a new kitchen in a student rental home that I own, and it has been about 2 years that it has been installed. Still in excellent shape, despite (Student) renters! great quality at a very good price. IKEA North York sold me the kitchen, and assigned me with an installation expert in Hamilton.

Ikea on leslie is the best ikea in the city. Knowledgeable staff and very organized store, with lots of free parking. I found some bedroom furniture that was very reasonable and good quality. Had to put it together myself, but was easy to do. Why spend more money elsewhere, IKEA'S stuff looks just as good as the more expensive furniture stores.

We wanted a cart & two simple shelves for the kitchen, a medicine cabinet for the bathroom and a light fixture for each - hardly a lot of items. Initially finding them at the showroom took well over four hours, then when we were in the warehouse they were located on shelves too high for us to reach without some kind of cherry-picker, and finding a helpful member of the staff to get them down took another hour. It took another 30 minutes of waiting at the delivery counter to arrange to have everything delivered (I don't drive) and two days later when it did arrive, the delivery driver ignored 80% of the instructions I left (real tough ones, like "Pull around to the delivery entrance on the side of the apartment building when you arrive.") instead parking illegally half a block up the street in a bus stop (!) and attempting to pull everything on a dolly up over the curb, and into the (narrow) front doors of the building resulting in damages to the kitchen cart.
When we finally went to install the cabinet (which we were told at the store came with EVERYTHING we needed.) we discovered that it had NO brackets to hang it up - just a note inside the box that we had to go out to buy them separately!

Affordable, easy to put together and up to date design. Purchased a sofa at a great price very comfortable and easy to maintain. I am able to change the look of purchasing new slipcovers.

We had truly thought we had finally found a great deal on laminate easy to install, click style flooring. However, much to our dismay, it chipped and flaked at several of the joints, no matter how gentle we were with it. We called for advice and the person we were referred to after about 20 min on hold was a young teen who had no suggestions or ideas. We finally has to take it apart and return it. We went with a similar product from home depot, a little more pricey but totally better quality.

The design of my room is not completely rectangular. My work are has a weird angle to it. It is hard to look for a desk that fits properly, but by amazing luck, I found a desk surface in the discount section of Ikea. I needed to buy legs for it and was not too sure what would be best. I got a good opinion from the employee though. He advised me to look through the catalog and even pointed out a few he thought would work nicely with the piece I had chosen. Finally legs were chosen, but they didn't have it in stock. It did not take too long but having to make another trip back costed me the inconvenience of having to have my friend(who owns a van) do the same. Of course, with all Ikea designs, it was pretty easy to put together. And now, I have a desk that looks more than it's worth because it looks custom made plus the legs are proving to be well worth the wait as they make my desk stand out more.

Quite pleased with product, as well as IKEA in general, though countertop was later than promised. They made up for it by providing free installation and gave a gift card as well. Would recommend highly for general shopping as well as renos.

I have had a great experience working with the staff at designing my new bedroom. From the bedframe, mattress, linens and accessories! I was able to put a new room together in one store which amazes me! I am looking forward to redoing other rooms!

I can't believe how great it turned out! I started by using Ikea's special software to design our kitchen, then their salespeople were on the ball helping us out with the details. Every suggestion they made was right on the money. Being on a strict budget I chose a mid-range priced type of cabinet (STAT). But the results are very high quality. The installation company was great and even replaced a slightly scratched cabinet door.

Now you have to remember that it's not solid wood so I can't say it will last 100 years, but all the hardware is very good quality. I'm planning on doing my bathroom next and using Ikea again.

My only complaint was that the delivery people refused to bring one of the boxes up the stairs to where our kitchen was. Instead I had my friend take the parts out of the box and bring them up seperately.

As always Ikea was wonderful, cheap, well experinced staff, and wonderful quality. My college dorm room now has many wonderful bathroom accesories!
