Nanette has supported my wife and I on two specific occasions with roof colour selection and interior colour and furniture selection extending to creative use of colour to deliver a "feel" based on the specific space to be addressed. She is incredibly creative, very balanced and willing to adjust her views to incorporate the preferences of the customer. Most importantly she was able to move us beyond our comfort zones and the results were very well admired by all of our friends....and don't forget her ability to manage divergent opinions between husband and wife while ensuring everybody gets to the finish line together.....

Nanette Snel was able to help me select a more appropriate flooring and wall colourings after I thought I had picked the right ones!! Nanette did this by looking only at photos of the cottage. She also picked out better colours for window trim.

After 5 years of slogging through basic repairs and upgrade projects (mainly walls, floors and drainage), we had finally brought our home to the point where it was ready for serious decorating. We had some word of mouth recommendations, but none sounded just right, and in the end, we selected Nanette based on the written comments here on the Home Stars site. We are very happy with this decision! After spending just a couple of hours with Nanette we now have a very clear picture of how our rooms will come together and come alive. We’re very pleased with the advice we received from Nanette about colour (which was our primary request) but also about lighting, furniture/furniture placement, accents, and window treatments. Now we are using the notes we took and the colour palettes we received from Nanette and we’re working one room at a time to bring the vision to life. So far we’ve completed just one room (the master bedroom) and we’re very happy with the result. Next will be the living room and dining room. We’ve picked up the accent tables already, and as soon as our decoration fund is flush we’ll pick up the paint and the rest of the materials, furniture and area rug. We’re really looking forward to this. We would highly recommend Nanette. She is incredibly skilled and intuitive, and she is a pleasure to work with.

All I wanted was advice on paint colours for our bedrooms and Nanette gave us way more! It was a delightful education for me as an interior design neophyte!! Not only did she nail the colours, real fast, she helped with the other details I needed help with such as window coverings, rugs, even light fittings. I also got advice and ideas on other parts of the house which I will be following. As a result of Nanette's advice, we have transformed a cluttered, uncomfortable room into a lovely, fun, spacious kid's retreat which my daughter loves!! Nanette was amazing in helping us to design our living room and dining room. We really were very lost before she came.

I have consulted with Nanette on many occasions. The most recent was concerning my kitchen floor. Nanette solved a major problem with the floor not being level. The special tiles that she recommended solve the problem and look fantastic. Her contractor did a super installation.

Nanette is terrific. We have been renovating a 3-story house in Riverdale for the last 6 months, and have received excellent advice from her on a range of issues – design layouts (basement, bathrooms, kitchen, loft), lighting, furniture, window coverings, tiles, etc. We are especially happy with her paint recommendations, which have added interest and depth to every room. As others have noted, Nanette is focussed and brings substantial design experience but she is also very flexible and able to incorporate our specific preferences. She has provided helpful recommendations for design stores and contractors – and has accompanied us on several occasions to select materials.
