My wife and I purchased a new townhouse in Newmarket in the summer of 2007. We took possession this month, July 2009. After meeting with the builder's decorator in July 2008, we were told the upgrade for hardwood floors -- on the main floor only -- was $9000. After visiting The Floor Shop's Leaside location a couple of times, we were relieved that we could get quality hardwood floors -- on the main and second floors -- for a more affordable price than our builder. The sales reps were knowledgeable and certainly not pushy.
The owner of The Floor Shop, Mr. Peter Schultz, met with me personally to discuss options on wood selection, pricing, and installation. I was grateful for his years of expertise of being in the building industry. He was able to calculate the amount of flooring required based on our floor plans.
After securing a date with a deposit, we were able to have our hardwood floors installed the day after we took possession, which was a Thursday. Two installers, both friendly and hard-working, finished the job in two days, even working on Saturday. And the installers even corrected a botched-up staircase landing that the builder's crew installed but shouldn't have. The Floor Shop installers didn't waste their time or ours, and they cleaned up afterwards, sweeping up and bagging the debris created from the installation.
Overall, from initially shopping for hardwood floors to the clean-up after installation, we could not be more pleased with the expertise, customer service, and craftsmanship of The Floor Shop. From start to finish, everyone from The Floor Shop was professional.
