Kitchen Renovation

When we decided to renovate our much-needed 1980’s builder kitchen, we looked at several manufacturers of kitchen cupboards. Some offered the contemporary style we were looking for, but they did not see the project through from tear down to completion. We were looking for a turnkey operation where a general contractor would take the kitchen from start to finish. We found this with Valentini Kitchens, owned and managed by brothers Tony and Piero. Piero listened to our ideas of what we wanted and completed a design that we really loved and had never considered. He suggested eliminating a row of cabinets that resulted in a more open concept and this one detail alone has transformed the space. We were equally impressed by the quality of the custom built cabinets, built and installed by Tony with the assistance of Frank and Luis. The attention to detail that Tony gives to his workmanship is extraordinary and the cabinets fit like a glove into each space. Perfection is in the details and Tony’s craftsmanship demonstrates this. When we met with Piero, he assured us that he hires only skilled and licensed tradespeople to perform each of the different steps. As this was an important point for us, we were very pleased with all of the workmanship. These tradespeople are among the best and include Frank, the electrician, Jaoa the drywaller and painter, Peter the plumber, Raony the tilesetter, Marek the gas fitter and Kent’s crew for the counter installation. All of these workers cleaned up after each day and kept the mess and dust to a minimum. Piero kept us regularly informed of the schedule and was always concerned that each stage of the reno met our expectations. The price that was quoted was basically what we paid. There were no surprise costs. Piero and Tony are the faces and creators of Valentini Kitchens and expect the best of their team and themselves. They have given us a kitchen we love. We highly recommend them.

Company Response

Thank you very much for the kind words Gerry & Dino!! I am a sorry to be late in responding back to your wonderful review. I am so glad you are very pleased with our work & conduct, we strive to make our clients 100% satisfied.

When I had first come to give you the free in home estimate, you did mention that you were looking for someone to take on the complete Kitchen Renovation instead of dealing with multiple contractors to do different parts of the job. Many potential clients don't know that we do both, that being Manufacturer the Custom Kitchen Cabinetry in our own shop & that we have our own Fully Licensed Renovation Crews to do everything big or small so we all basically a full one stop shop.

With the help of our entire crew we were able to get your kitchen out of the 1980's & bring it to modern times. The Kitchen is beautifully Modern & the wonderful Quartz tops & the mixed glass backsplash tiles finish off an elegant Modern design.

Thanks again from Piero, Anthony & the entire Valentini Reno Crew!! We are so pleased that you are very satisfied with everything we did.

kitchen and bathroom renovation

After 35 years, our kitchen was ready for a do over. I dutifully contacted 3 contractors and we agreed on Valentini Kitchens. the first thing that impressed me was Piero's willingness to listen to our needs and wants. Following our initial telephone conversation he came out to our house laden with samples of a variety of floor, counter and backsplash products. We really loved our oak cabinets and wanted to keep them. This made it a bit more tricky to work around, but Piero assured us it was doable. My vision was a Tuscan kitchen and Piero enthusiastically began to create this. We were leaving on vacation for a month and thought this would be a good way for the team to work on their own and for us to have to live with a minimum of mess.During the time we were away, Piero's brother Tony sent pictures showing the progress and letting us know when issues developed as they opened walls and found that things needed readjusting and strengthening. Tony is all about safety and attention to detail. He takes great pride in his work and is meticulous when it comes to finishing and adding pieces. He even told us that we needed to upgrade our smoke alarms. Paul, Frank the Electrician, Joao the Painter, Peter the Plumber and Roany the Tile man could not have been more professional and pleasant. Their work was topnotch. In the bathroom area we removed a closet and added a corner shower. The first shower fixtures did not work in the space and Piero immediately found other fixtures that worked. He texted and sent me pictures and made sure that I was pleased with the result. Olivia, Piero's wife came over when the job was done and did a very thorough cleaning of kitchen and bathroom. She is a designer on her own and gave me some great tips on coordinating colours and window treatments. This is truly a family affair as the business was originally started by Piero and Tony's father. How proud he would be of his boys!!!!!

Company Response

Thank you so much for the beautiful words Paulette & George!! We really appreciate the kind words & it was truly a pleasure to work for you both. I remember the first time I came over to give you an estimate, you weren't sure if we would do " add on " Cabinetry work to your existing Oak Kitchen Cabinetry but I said with a bit of time we could anything you would like. Your original Kitchen was still in fantastic shape & I made sure that because we were the direct manufacturer that we would do our best to match your new cabinets as close as possible. I know you had many other quotes & I tried to be as different as possible & do my best with the shop at home services.

After listening to what you wanted & adding my opinions & ideas, we were able to agree on the design style to create that vision of your dream " Tuscan " Kitchen. Anthony was able to match up the colour very close & he came in to fit everything like a glove. One of our Renovation Crews were able with my help to bring all your Reno needs to reality.

Thank you again & I hope you & George are enjoying everything in Tuscany

Kitchen Renovation

Kitchen Dreams come true!
From start to finish, Valentini Kitchens proved that they are the BEST in kitchen renos. Piero took all the time to explain, design and create the kitchen of our dreams. Kudos to Tony who is a master carpenter and no detail is too small for him. He was on site to oversee all the work, treating our house as if it were his own. Thank you to all the trades (Roany, Joao, Dave, Marek, Frank and others). You all work so professionally - this reno was a pleasure to live through. Completed on time and ready for the Christmas turkey! Absolutely the BEST!

New kitchen in a rental property

Our relationship with the Valentini group goes back many years, and many projects. This summer, we challenged Piero to yet another kitchen reno - with a few challenging twists.

The kitchen that needed renovation is located in a downtown Toronto highrise, and is occupied by tenants with small children. The challenge was that the complete renovation needed to be done while the family was away on vacation, and needed to be done during working hours as it is a condominium.

Piero and Tony stepped right up, and the results were magnificent. From demolition to the final touch-ups, everything was done in under a week. They completed the work with no disruption to the condominium, or my tenants, and even went above and beyond by cleaning the extraneous dust outside the renovation area. The condo people were very impressed by their swift professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation.

The new kitchen looks fabulous, and we couldn't be happier with the results.

While not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, the investment will be returned exponentially in the coming years. Not the first time we used Valentini, and certainly won't be the last!

Kitchen Renovation

This is a long review so get a coffee…
It was hard to find the right contractor (it took 5-6 months) and we had a lot of concerns with trusting a website, but after failing to find someone we liked through friends and some large cabinet/designer companies, Home Stars really came through for us. Many people come to this website because the thing that they are most concerned about is that their contractor is going to take off with their money or drop the job after doing the demolition. So they look at the scores and the number of reviews, but rarely do they read all the reviews and really look for some of the important details. Sure a bad contractor will be poorly rated but can you really know how good the finished product will look or tell the quality of the cabinets, hardware (glides, handles etc.), installation, or the finishing touches (calking, bumpers, moldings). Everyone is happy that their kitchen is finished and you expect that the new kitchen should be a lot better than what they had before. I suggest that you take the time to read all the reviews of any contractor you are considering hiring. It is important to know if your contractor has the experience necessary to do the size and type of job your renovation requires. Lastly, when you meet them, trust your gut impression, if they don’t make you feel confident that they can do the job or you don’t like them, don’t hire them, you are going to be spending a lot of time dealing with them.

Our Kitchen renovation involved removing a loadbearing wall, moving a doorway (which became a pocket door), adding a large opening looking into another room (again in a loadbearing wall), our 1980’s dropped ceiling removed, plumbing, HVAC, tiling, electrical, countertops, drywall, painting, moldings and of course cabinetry. This was a total kitchen transformation.

Valentini Kitchens is a family owned business and it shows in the way they care about every aspect of their work. Renovations are a messy business. Valentini Kitchens covered the floors, set up vapor barriers to reduce the air borne dust, blocked vents and cleaned up every day.

Piero, the face of Valentini Kitchens, is a very likeable guy who really listens and works with you to create a design. His experience really showed in the great ideas he brought up when we first showed him our kitchen. Before he had left, Piero had already created rough sketches (which he later turned into beautiful computer generated 3D drawings). Most people are concerned about hearing from their contractor after handing over their 1st payment. Communication with Piero actually became more frequent. After each tradesman had done some work, Piero would call to make sure we were happy and would answer all of our questions. Piero was always working behind the scenes, making sure the product and the trades were lined up to avoid delays.

Tony, Piero’s brother, is a perfectionist who really takes pride in making and installing his cabinetry. Tony is invaluable! He attends to every detail as if he was working on his own mother’s home. Speaking of the product, the cabinets are of very high quality with exceptional finishes and hardware. The product is not inexpensive, but it is of good value and built to last.

Piero and his brother Tony have assembled an excellent team of professional tradesmen (not handymen, where the same guy does plaster, tile work, plumbing and electrical). If you read a good number of the reviews you will see that many of the tradesmen have been working with Valentini Kitchens for quite a few years. You can’t help but be impressed at how every worker respected the fact that they were in YOUR home. Piero kept us informed of who and when we were to expect someone at our house. He placed a lockbox on our door so each tradesman could come and go as needed. We never had any concerns that there would be any problems. They even made sure our indoor cat never got outside. These guys worked diligently. Very few of the tradesmen smoked, and any that did, did it outside. The tradesmen really respected each other, so much so that they would tell you about the great work of the next tradesman.

Here are some of the names that you will see in many of the Valentini Kitchen reviews:

• Dave, A great guy, and right hand man. 1st to arrive last to leave (thanks for all of the clean-up too)

• Tilesetter Ronny, worked hard to get things just right,

• Tony the master electrician,

• Joao the painter, really nice guy and did a beautiful job finishing (note: all walls and ceilings were skim coated, that’s quality).

• Marek the Plumber, nice clean work,

• Gene and Danny (Structural Openings workers) – these guys were amazing, an unbelievable amount of work done in one day,

• JP the moldings and trim specialist, he found solutions to make the old parts of the house fit with the new,

• Kitchen Installers Paul and Luis, quiet but then they were working too hard to talk.

Valentini Kitchens truly transformed not only our kitchen but the whole first level of our home. We have had a lot of people come in and remark on how fantastic the kitchen looks. I encourage you to take a look at our before and after photos. As good as the photos look, they still cannot capture the beauty of this kitchen.

We have and will continue to highly recommend Valentini Kitchens to friends, family and co-workers. We will certainly call on them when we are ready for our next project.

Thanks guys,
Linda and Gerald

Kitchen Renovation

When we decided to renovate our kitchen, we looked at several kitchen design companies. We had almost picked one of these for the job when we came across Valentini Kitchens on Homestars. Reading the glowing reviews that they had received, we decided to give them a call. Piero came in to see us one evening, and after we discussed with him our vision of what we wanted to do with the kitchen, he right away put together an initial design sketch and gave us a lot of ideas and suggestions. This first meeting ended up being four hours long and Piero left our home a little after midnight that day. Speaking with Piero, it was very apparent that these people knew what they were doing and understood kitchen renovations inside out. By the end of this meeting, Piero had won over our trust and confidence and we decided that Valentini would be the right people to do our kitchen. It is a decision that we are extremely happy with! We are absolutely thrilled with the way our kitchen turned out!
The project started on time and ran right on schedule with no delays at all – the credit for this goes to Piero who works behind the scenes managing the project so efficiently. He was in touch with us throughout the project and kept us updated all through. The entire team at Valentini is fabulous. Tony and his team (Paul and Lewis) for the cabinetry, Ronny and Dave (the tilers), Joao the painter, Frank the electrician, and Marek the plumber were all extremely professional with high standards of workmanship. I want to especially mention Tony – he is an absolute gem in this business. Tony is extremely detail-oriented (nothing escapes his eye) and he goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is just perfect. Tony's work is exceptional. His custom cabinetry is top-quality and he takes a lot of pride in his work.
I would recommend Valentini Kitchens in a heartbeat if you are looking for quality workmanship. These people are reliable and dedicated to the work that they do.

Master Ensuite Bathroom, Second Bathroom and Laundry Room Renovation

After having my kitchen and powder room renovated by Valentini Kitchens in 2013; I was so happy with the final product that I decided to have them redo my master ensuite; second bathroom and laundry room. The job entailed removal of two closets in order to extend the master bathroom and having everything demolished to the 'bare bones'. The final results were amazing! My bathrooms looked like they had been 'lifted' from a designer magazine and even my daughter couldn't believe how everything had been transformed (and she's even more picky than I am). As always, they were extremely detail oriented in every aspect from the initial drawings to the choice of materials, colours, fixtures etc. A big thank you to Piero (the designer and great listener); Frank (electrician); Marek (plumber); Joao (painter); Raony (tiler and jack-of-all trades); Dave who helped prepare and clean everything up at the end of the day and all the other behind-the-scenes people. A very special thanks goes out to Anthony (and his assistant) for the detailed eye to craftsmanship and perfectionism in the construction of my cabinets and vanities, and their ultimate installation--they are truly something to be admired! As I had mentioned last year; Anthony truly is an "Old World Master"--a very rare individual indeed. Everyone who has seen the final product has been extremely impressed; I highly recommend Valentini Kitchens to anyone who is contemplating any type of renovation. Keep up the excellent work!

Kitchen Renovation

We found Valentini on Homestars. We were looking for a turnkey company that could handle a major kitchen renovation for our home in Markham. From the very first meeting and briefing that we had with Piero, we determined that we liked their approach to design and overall project management. We felt our large project would be in good hands and we selected them.
We worked together to create the optimal design - often working together into the late hours of the night. Once we had the final design in hand – the renovation began. The kitchen was completely gutted and under the expertise of Piero’s brother, Anthony, the transformation began and our kitchen became a beautiful, functional space, with a design that worked so well with our home’s open style concept. Valentini’s attention to detail and their care was exemplary. They even went over and above and had their electrician to make a quick adjustment to an outside light fixture (not at all in the project scope) because Anthony noticed there was a problem with it. Importantly, they were true to their word…once they started our project they did not take on other projects that would interfere with the timeline until ours was completed. While there were a couple of small glitches along the way (perhaps to be expected with a project with so many different tradesmen) their professionalism and desire to ensure customer satisfaction were commendable. We have since recommended them to our friends and acquaintances for their renovation projects.

Painting, plastering, carpeting, doors

Because Valentini Kitchens did such a great job renovating our bathrooms, we hired them again to: carpet the second floor, plaster over the "popcorn" ceiling on the main floor and upstairs hall and paint almost the whole house. Since they had replaced the bathroom doors previously, Piero suggested replacing all the other room doors and even the ugly fake wood closet doors. They look great now. Piero advised us on paint colours and Joao and his assistant Nelsa did a great painting and plastering job. We thought the cost was very reasonable for all the work being done. Because Valentini is a smaller, family company, they are available all the time to drop by and check on things. Everyone involved are very friendly and always willing, without a fuss, to do touch-ups and small changes. Piero's brother Tony even fixed the grout in the kitchen, which was not originally planned. Piero likes to keep in touch even after the job is completed. The whole experience has a personal touch, which we like. We would not hesitate to call on them again, except the house looks so good now, I don't know what is left to do. Thanks again Valentini Kitchens.
