Recently, we were without heat just after midnight and we called the Ottawa company who had installed our Bryant furnace in 2002, and had always been called for the service/repair of it. On-line they advertise 24/7 service and that if you are without heat they will dispatch a technician immediately. Well after much debate/dispute we were advised that a tech could only come out at 8 a.m. (sounds like no emergency service to us). The tech diagnosed a corroded heat exchanger, which at first was not going to be covered under warranty with Carrier and then it was, and then in the end it would not be, and our option was to either pay $3000 to have it replaced or buy a new furnace starting at $3500. Wow!,...for us that would be three (3) furnaces installed by this company in this home since 1994!!! Disappointed with this company and now having lost complete hope and all trust with them, we called Roger at Carleton Refrigeration Heating and Air Conditioning and explained our predicament. Right away he offered to call his contact at Carrier to see what could be done. Within a couple of hours, we were advised that it would be covered under warranty and replaced by Carleton Refrigeration for the cost of labour only. They had us up and running within 48 hours and all for under $900...a far cry from the $3000 our own company quoted us. Our sincere thanks go to Carleton Refrigeration for their assistance with the warranty coverage and for their excellent service and their honesty shown to us in our emergency. Needless to say, in future, we will only be calling them for all or our furnace needs and we highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for honest efficient professional service.

Fast professional crew, took out the old, installed the new in about 3 hours. Explained the operation, and what I needed to know. Been about three weeks, am confident this winter will be warm. I selected Carleton to do my annual maintenance as I have experience a few minor problems that my previous supplier could not identify nor fix. Joel showed up on time with boot covers to get to work. He did the required work and identified the root problem I had experienced and fixed it. It was a loose wire. They also performed air tests to ensure the system was running properly. For my system, this meant that they had to get up on my roof to test the exhaust. They were clean, courteous and efficient. I will be using them again without question and will recommend them to anyone in need to furnace assistance.

Out of four companies making site visits and their subsequent quotes to get our system to pass TSSA inspection, Carleton Refrigeration was by far the lowest, most professional, timely, diligent and informative. We were very impressed with the service we received. The technician arrived on time and was professional. The attention to detail, such as putting on booties to keep our floors clean when he entered the house, was appreciated. We would highly recommend this company.

I called Carleton Refrigeration after-hours on the second day of a mini heat wave to report that my AC was not working. I received a phone call reply early the next morning and the promise of an appointment. Justin arrived in the afternoon and went right to work. When he was inside he wore protective covers on his boots and kept our house clean. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the system working again. He checked the gas in the compressor and then the fan speed of our furnace. He adjusted the fan speed to achieve better performance. He fine tuned the system and immediately there was colder air running through the ducting. He made several suggestions to improve airflow in the house and through the cooling system.

I have had AC for eleven years and this was the only thorough check the system had despite several service calls by the original installers to try to maximize the system's effectiveness.

Justin put my mind at ease with his careful explanations of the problems and solutions. He was polite, efficient, and careful.
