Hi Carolyn,
I had attempted to call you a day after you posted your comment. Unfortunately, I never did get the opportunity to talk with you, but I did talk with your husband, Dwayne, and he had said that he was very pleased with our service. After that conversation I was really confused because his comments were quite different from yours.
From your comments you outline 3 problems:
1. The general check on your breaker,
2. the price, and
3. the wrong thermostat. If you would allow me the time I would like to address all of these items:
1. Our ‘general check’ is a bit more involved in that it is a complete circuit diagnostic to ensure that the problem is isolated and so that the correct solution can be presented in order to fix the problem. With a lot of electrical issues, the problems are not always apparent, so there has to be some diagnostic work to isolate and to determine a practical solution.
a. For Example: A recent customer had called us wanting to change a breaker that was not operating properly. She claimed another company had changed it but they were still having the problem. After a diagnostic, it was determined that the issue was not the breaker, but rather there was a hidden junction box in her ceiling that was arcing from a bad connection. This arcing was actually starting to char the floor joist. Had we just replaced the breaker this may have gone undetected and a fire may have resulted.
2. All of our electrical service pricing is straightforward. We offer different solutions. We tell our customers the exact price before any work is started. And we don’t start any work without their approval.
3. It was unfortunate that the thermostat you had provided was not compatible with your system, but with your safety in mind it was not appropriate for us to install it. Our vehicles are fully stocked with a wide range of parts; however, I do regret not having a replacement for you. Part of the issue is that there are a lot of different makes and models that exist in the market and that they are not all interchangeable.Hopefully, this addresses some of your concerns. I sympathize that it is never pleasant to have something replaced in your home unexpectedly.
