I purchased an older home in September 2013 in NDG and knew right from the start that some major work was required on the bricks. Upon inspecting the home prior to finalizing my purchase, I was glad to see that the roof had been redone in the past couple of years and with an industrial grade elastomeric membrane. The work on the roof was impressive and would be headache free for at least another 20 years. The previous owner advised me that the work was done by Bishop Mercier and that they could also help me with the necessary brick work.
I contacted Jim and Chuck in late 2013 and they quickly dropped in for an estimate on the work we wanted to have done. The price was extremely reasonable and very completive and based on the work we had seen done on the roof, gave us the confidence to stick with Bishop Mercier. Unfortunately it was late in the season and my wife and I decided to wait for the following spring before doing any work on the exterior of the property. In the spring of 2014 I re-contacted Chuck and was glad to hear that he was honouring the price submitted to me months ago!! What a pleasant surprise.
Within a week, Chuck and Jim had arranged for a crew of 4 to be at our house to complete the work required. ON TIME, RESPECTFUL (to my wife’s recently planted flower garden, and neighbors for the inconvenience), QUALITY WORK!!!!
The joint on 3 sides of our building were redone and the facade was re-pointed with a darker mortar as we requested. The facade was also washed to bring back the original 100 year old color and several bricks were replaced to ensure all our facade bricks were the same style and color.
I would not hesitate to use their services again in the future and it is refreshing to see that there are still some small family owned business out there that care about the results and service they give!!
