Straight Edge Painting

Miko did an amazing job removing all traces of a shoddy paint job left over from the previous owners of our home. From the first meeting he exuded a high degree of professionalism in explaining the process and thereafter followed up when he said he would. He was meticulous in prepping each room and took the time to custom match our trim color to touch up places where the previous painters had left marks. I am a perfectionist and his work exceeded all my expectations, the transformation is jaw-dropping. I can't recommend Miko highly enough!

Miko came to give us a quote about 6 months ago and it was one of 3 we were considering. One painter offered $4500 and another $2100, and Miko came in between. We were on a tight budget and went with the cheaper quote. Big mistake. About 4 days into the job, our place was only primed, a mess and we noticed that he didn't buy the paint we wanted and agreed on. We had an uneasy feeling and decided to ask him to leave. Needless to say some words were exchanged and he refused to give our deposit back stating he had spent it on paint, which wasn't the brand we wanted, and for his time regardless if we were unhappy with his progress. We swallowed that cost and escorted him out. It was about 10pm that night and once we composed ourselves and thought about a solution, we decided to give Miko a shot. We called him immediately and apologized for the late call and explained what happened. He asked if it was okay to come over right away and asses the situation and we were delighted that he offered to do so! In the end, Miko still maintained his price because of the mess he had to clean up, which was understandable and went further to explain that the darker colors needed to be re-primed with a gray base, as well as buy the paint we initially wanted which was Benjamin Moore. All his attention and clarification of what needed to be done put us at ease and made us realize that cheaper isn't always better! We spent $600 more than Miko's original quote by losing it to the other painter, but seeing how Miko transformed our home made it all worth while. We would strongly recommend Miko to anyone on this site, our friends and family! Thank you so much Miko! My wife and I are still so grateful to you and your work! All the best!

Miko came highly recommended through my boss (who is a bit of a task-master and detail oriented) and therefore, I knew the work had to be good. I called Miko and he came over, gave me after showing what I wanted done, he gave me a quote, paint chips chart to help me choose, and also included the extras he would do (from patching holes (from my handywork) and valued recommendations. He also provided dates and timing.
I love the work he did. My condo is not that old and its like walking into a new home. I am very pleased with the work and have already referred him to friends. You will not be disappointed.

Miko is not a "painter"....Miko is an ARTIST and my house looks beautiful! Miko is professional and very meticulous - he takes complete pride in his work. He did a lot of "pre-work" to ensure my walls were patched and smooth so that the painting would look perfect - that's the difference between him and other painters! Based on reviews here, we hired Miko to paint 1960's wood paneling in our basement. He did a great job. He arrived on the agreed date, was very thorough in set-up, preparing the walls, priming and painting. Miko was very professional throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend him.

He committed to completing the job in three days and worked until 11pm during the final evening to complete the job. Due to the busy schedules of my wife and I, after the first day we simply provided Miko with a key to our townhouse to come and go. Very personable, trustworthy and meticulous. I was looking for someone to paint my house and Miko was highly recommended by a friend who had just had his new house painted. His price was very reasonable for all rooms and included paint for walls, ceilings and trim. I also paid a nominal $100 fee to a colour consultant that was recommended as well and the consultant worked directly with Miko to confirm paint colours.
The best part of the job was that my husband and I went on vacation for one week and when we returned, the entire house was done! Miko was very friendly and trustworthy and stayed in contact with me by phone, so I did not feel uncomfortable during my trip and was able to avoid all the disruption.
I will recommend Miko to all of my friends and will call him with any new jobs (although now he has done the whole house so no time soon).

I first hired Straight Edge Painting last year to fix some very poor work done by another painting contractor. Miko did a great job and his price was very reasonable. Recently we wanted to paint two more rooms and we used Miko for the job because we were so pleased with his earlier work. The job required precision and attention to detail as it's a 96 year old home with uneven walls that have wallpaper painted over many times. The walls were initially painted very dark colours and we wanted to go neutral in both rooms. I also asked Miko to do a band of colour in my living room around the top of the ceiling which he measured and taped off by hand. The effect turned out perfectly, and both rooms look amazing. I would not hesitate to hire Straight Edge Painting again or recommend them to others. You get high quality work and very good customer service.
