Hi Megan, thank you for taking your time to write a review. Exterior tap requires some attention before winter comes. Every year, our plumbers in Toronto have to repair or replace broken garden taps. It is very important to turn off the valve that supply outside faucet and drain (!) remaining of water from a pipe that penetrates exterior wall. Another, not less important thing is to disconnect a hose. We had case when homeowner installed fancy frost-free self-draining tap and decided that he is safe. However, he forgot to disconnect a hose and water was not drained from pipe that caused burst inside of brick wall. When Spring comes, he just turn the tap on and used hose for 15 min. After he came to the basement and discovered flood. His mistake was keeping hose attached to the valve all winter long and it did not allow for tap to do "self-draining ".
