Thank you for working with us and thank you so much for sharing this! We are in line with Industry Standard warranty exclusions for lumber, be it HOME DEPOT, RONA or any Lumber dealer or distributor, natural properties of lumber such as checking, warping, splitting etc... are natural properties of softwood lumber used for outdoor fencing and as such cannot fall under warranty as they are not avoidable. In this case the gate warped and this caused the latch to not line up correctly causing the jam.

Having said that we always do our best to work with our customers when a fair and feasible request is made and Courtesy Gate Adjustments is one of those items we try to take care of when requested, albeit sometimes this can take some time during our grueling season where all staff is putting in overtime!

When we cannot assist directly we always send useful information and possible remedies to any naturally occurring cosmetic imperfections that can and do occur with outdoor softwood lumber used in fence installation.

NOTE: You can reduce some of these items occurring over time by sealing them with a Thomsons Water Seal after installation, although this will not eliminate the imperfections it can reduce this overall.

Our whole staff is and has been working hard for 25 Years now and working with customers like you and your group of neighbours keeps us motivated to work hard day in and day out...This is a tough industry where expectations are high and sometimes not quite realistic, however, we always Communicate transparently and honestly about what to expect, what we can control, and what we cannot. Things don't always go perfectly, but we always are upfront about what to expect and work hard to do it right, or make it right!

Our team works hard every day and does all we can to ensure our projects are done correctly and installed to ensure the structural integrity of the fence will stand the test of time. The key to this is using our own, In House Teams of Specialists who do each part of the project at a high level.

-Post Crew Team using our own Heavy Duty Equipment--> ensures post depth and diameter is such that they will be firmly in the ground for decades to come

-Concrete Truck Crew --> able to tweak the formula to meet differing conditions on the ground and ensure the concrete holds up (be sure to allow 28 days for concrete to reach full compressive strength before putting any pressure on them!)

-Fence & Framing Team --> Frame and grade the fence according to the conditions on the ground and ensure the structure is solid.

The project Manager keeps close touch with all Teams and ensures we are on Track!

NOTE:
*When using heavy-duty equipment such as tractors and power wheel barrels all are required to do the job right and ensure the depth of post holes, some grass wear and damage can and does occur during the normal course of construction and depending on grass conditions (often very soft in new subdivisions) we cannot avoid this altogether. However, the result is a Fence that will be there for decades to come! Although not pleasant we always disclose that some wear and tear does occur even though we make all attempts to minimize this if and where possible. Glad we met your expectations in this case!
