Exterior stairs, fences, gate

Trentco has been good to work with, and Trent is now our first call when we need a general contractor. The quotes are usually a bit lower than the larger firms we've contacted, and the quality and follow-up are excellent. He's been helpful at solving problems and finding ways to make our design ideas work. We've had him do work with cedar, metal, and concrete. His employee (?) Jim shared the labour. Both of them are pleasant to have on-site, tidy, and good at communicating with those of us who don't speak contractor-talk.

Tear down old garage / build new garage

Tearing down the old garage and building a brand new one was our third major project with Trent - after the kitchen/basement renovation; and the opening of the attic.

The primary reasons we hired Trent once again? Trustworthy; reliable; easy to work with; collaborative; responsive to our needs; reasonably priced; and - last but not least - his upbeat personality.

His crew members are very nice too.

We love our garage and all the extra storage capacity.

A big THANK YOU to Trent and his crew!!

Bathroom Reno

Trent and his team were very professional and efficient. The job was completed on schedule and he also assisted with other house hold questions/concerns, unrelated to the project. During the installation, a problem came up due to a faulty bathroom fixture. I was surprised and impressed with how quickly he responded and resolved the issue.

Finish basement

We hired Trent to finish our basement after having first hired him for a couple of smaller jobs. The basement was a big job (for us anyway), involving waterproofing, leveling old floors, re-routing pipes for our hot water heating, installing new stairs, electrical work, and finishing everything off. Now we have an inviting rec room, boiler room, laundry room and storage space.

Trent offered some very useful suggestions for some of the choices we had to make (finishes, locations of switches etc). When he was basically done the job he asked us for a list of problems to fix so we looked everything over and came up with a list. Everything on the list was done. He also guarantees everything for a year and plans to come back in the fall to touch up a few things.

Trent and Jimmy were friendly and professional, as usual. Communication was great in person, by text or on the phone. We've since called Trent a couple of times to ask about something that came up that we thought might be related to the reno. Most recently was moisture we noticed after the heavy rains. He came over the next evening shortly after we already noticed that the problem may have been due to toddlers playing with water. We apologized for what we thought was wasting his time but he brushed it off and said it was all part of customer service. Then he checked one place we hadn't thought of - the water meter behind an access panel. It was leaking. So we'll get the city to fix it and we look forward to seeing Trent in the fall for the follow-ups.

I had been putting off doing this review because I'm inherently lazy. Today's visit reminded me that writing a review isn't much effort at all, and it motivated me to get to it. Trent is remarkably professional, courteous and good at what he does. I have no reservations recommending him to friends or recommending him to you, perfect strangers.

Bathroom repair/finishing

Trent was great! He came for multiple visits to inspect and give suggestions before the project started. The work was done fast, and very precise. It looks great! We have a young boy in the house, and they where so careful and thoughtful of him, making sure to clean up so well every day. It felt good to know that they care about your house, and your family. We will be calling Trent again for future projects for sure.

Attic renovation

This is the second time we hire Trent and his team. This time it was for a huge project which consisted of transforming our attic into a living space and modifying an existing room to install the stairs. A dormer was also built which was the total length of the house. It was challenging at times (we live in a heritage house) but Trent always found solutions, communicated our options and answered our needs. We are extremely happy with the results. We highly recommend Trent and his team.

Kitchen renovation

We hired Trent because he re-did our friend's kitchen. He removed our old kitchen then installed new floor tile, new cabinets, and back splash. Everything was very well done and we have no complaints.

He gave us a lot of good feedback on the new layout and design before beginning. We'd never undertaken a reno before and he was quite willing to answer all our beginner questions and give us advice.

Cost was labour only. We supplied new tile, cabinets, etc.
