We were just beginning a demolition project in order to remodel our very old laundry room/powder room. I am a handy person myself and decided to take on some of the work. Unfortunately something very suspicious turned up within 10 minutes of the demolition of the floor. Our home was originally built in 1914 but this part of the house was built later.

Upon removing the first chunk of ceramic tile I saw some very old vinyl tile under the ceramic tiles. I immediately called Robert and he responded promptly. It is a busy time for them but he still found time to do the assessment and confirmed that it was asbestos. His 2 person team was courteous and thorough. They completed the removal of all the galvanized mesh, ceramic tile, mortar and subfloor. There were actually several layers of subfloor to remove. After the demolition and removal was completed, they followed a very rigorous protocol to make sure the area was clean and safe. Having this service really helps with peace of mind.

Templar came in and reviewed our situation with asbestos in our attic. They gave us excellent advice for the removal and the reinsulation. Damns were suggested for the edge of the attic along the soffit for appropriate air flow. Extra vents in the roof were recommended which I had installed. The planned the job to take out the old insulation through a roof vent which resulted in a big cost saving. The removal team was very efficient, organized, neat and on time. The crew showed me photos of the attic after each job was done. I would highly recommend this company for asbestos and mould abatement.

I have never written a review before. I was so pleased with the vermiculite removal/insulation work Templar did for us that I wanted to post some praise. Understandably, my wife and I were a bit worried about the vermiculite removal. Robert explained everything in detail. His depth of knowledge and prompt replies to our many questions gave us comfort to go ahead with the work. His crew was equally professional and did an amazing job. David and Michael described all the steps to the job. They showed us photos of the attic work and sealing. They also went above and beyond to seal the bottom of the stack in our basement. David removed the asbestos and walked us through the house to inspect all vents and was able to show us his set up with appropriate coverings and vacuums for safety. After some late night renovations in our new home we found some tiles that we suspected might contain asbestos under a carpet. With young children and days until our move in date (and a very nervous wife) we could barely sleep. We called Robert first thing in the morning (before 8am) and he picked up the phone and was at our house gathering samples within 4 hours! We were very fortunate that the test results came back negative (less 24 hours later), but had to write a review as their responsiveness and knowledge was off the charts. Highly recommend this team.

I planed to renovate the floors in my house, which is 50yrs old. Right before the reno, we found old tiles under old wood floors which may contain asbestos. This company quickly responded to my inquiry, came to get the samples right away and gave me the result in two days (turned out it was negative).
