Shades Of Home

We bought shutters and blinds for all windows in our new home. Steve Poxon, the owner of Shades of Home was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. His prices were very competitive and the installation was completed on time and without incident. There were a couple of minor issues later that required adjustments and Steve sent his repair person over promptly. This was the third time I have purchased blinds from Shades of Home. The first time I purchased from them was in 2004 when we had shutters installed to cover an eight foot high set of sliding patio doors off the kitchen. Steve mentioned to me that, because of the size of the doors, the blinds may sag slightly over time and he would come back to adjust them if necessary. They did sag a bit after a while but I never bothered to call until 3 years later when we were selling the house. I don't think Steve had expected to be called 3 years later and he certainly was not obligated to do anything but he came over and fixed the problem personally.

Excellent service. Steve is knowledgeable about the product, the alternatives and he has an excellent interior designer and install technician. In fact, when I was missing the dimensions of a condominium property in Toronto, Steve was resourceful enough to source the dimensions of this condo unit from the web. Sundeep

Thank you to Marie at Shades Of Home for all her great advice. She assisted us in choosing new custom drapes, sheers and roman shades for our main floor. She also helped us choose paint colours to co-ordinate. Everything looks awesome! I'll definitely call for our next reno.

We were looking for a solution to heavy draperies and expensive curtains that kept breaking (Hunter Douglas blinds) we immediately saw a difference in the quality of window coverings, maintaining heat in the winter, and keeping shade in the summer months - helps with lowering utility bills a bit while looking great. I would highly recommend Shades of Home - no gimmicks and just delivery of what product we had been searching for.
