Master Trades

I hired Master Trades Group to repair the roof on my home and the work was satisfactory. All my expectations were met in terms of timelines and budgets and I am happy with the work that has been done.

We were introduced to Marcel by the original contractor that was hired to do the job with a quotation of just over $4000 dollars. Original contractor was relocating to up north. Marcel had collected the $1000 deposit that we had paid him from him. Well during the time which was extended because the work was not done everyday, we received 3 bills from Marcel. First one was for $6117.19 and the explanation was that they ran into problems and that is why it cost more. We paid because we had a halfway dug trench in our yard and it needed to be completed. Still with an incomplete job he came with a second bill of over $6500 to us again we paid, $6000 this time telling him he will get the rest when he finishes. By this time we just wanted them to finish and leave. My pool pump and filter was disconnected and not reconnected. Marcel did not even turn up the third time, he sent the guy that he had doing the work with another bill for over $6000 again. This guy who was doing the work told us that he had not been paid for the job as yet. We gave him $5000. So in total we have paid $18117.19 to dig a trench, put in a pump and redirect the sump pump line away from the house. Gravel was used and polystyrene sheets to prevent the pipe from icing up during winter. The backyard is a mess that we will have to fix in spring, and the original contractor was supposed to have poured cement to place the pool filter and pump on and this was not done by Marcel. We will have to take care of this in the spring. Feel totally ripped off by Marcel. Will never recommend to anyone.

Marcel quoted us a price and gave us a delivery of 1 week. He fulfilled this quote within the quoted amount plus had it installed in one day. His crew did a great job.

We’ve worked with Master Trades group a few times. We had our basement windows replaced about a year ago and have had no problem with them. They replaced our eavestroughs and removed our chimney. Everything was done in a timely and neat manner. They have been great to work with, punctual and easy to get a hold of. They were there when they said they would be. We did have one issue which was dealt with right away and to our satisfaction.

Master Trades installed an egress window in the basement of my rental house; involved digging a bigger window well out and cutting a larger opening for the basement window. Quality wise the work was done well, however, timing was a behind what they had undertaken to do and I had to chase them down a number of times to ensure I met commitments to my tenants. They charged more than other quotes I received but I went with them on promise of timely completion so feel over paid in the end. However they took care of the permits and provided me with insurance certificates which was appreciated and help ensure work done properly.

I hired Master Trades group to do siding of my house and change some windows. They did great work! They did it in a timely manner, I never had to complain about anything and the price was perfect. From what I can tell the quality is there, I’ve never had a problem with any of the work.

He finished our new deck about a month ago, and we love it. He did a good job, The helpers he had working with him and they were excellent and professional. They were courteous and cleaned up after they were done. Other than the rain holding up the work there were no other speed-bumps. We would definitely recommend Marcel.

Master Trades put new shingles up on our roof, the price was fair, and everything was done a timely manner. Marcel was easy work with. We would recommend him to our family and friends.

These guys are strange but they do know their stuff. I would recommend them if you need your job done right or if you need a good laugh. They are great!
