We have one word for Derrick and his team - excellent! Derrick goes well above and beyond to deliver a great service and of course, a great garage. His communication is amazing and we were involved in every step of the process. Derrick made the whole process very easy with no surprises. The pride he takes in his work is obvious and we are very happy with the final product (and the neighbours are quite jealous!). If you're looking for a quality built garage, built by a guy with high standards and integrity, Derrick is the builder for you.

Had Derrick and 2 other companies give quotes. He was fit right in the middle as far as price went but more importantly he seemed to be the only one that was not pushy or arrogant, just a nice guy.
It wasn't a hard decision to make as to who would be doing the work.
Everything was right on schedule, on budget and on par with my expectations. (I can be a little picky with quality of work)
Derrick surrounds himself with great people who all had the same level of professionalism.

We first met with Derrick to inquire about having them build a garage for us, instead of building it ourselves. I am a very passionate car guy, and a perfectionist, so I am very picky with how I want the garage built. Derrick met with us at a time that was very convenient for us, and on relatively short notice. When we met with him, he was very patient with my numerous questions, and was extremely knowledgeable. He not only answered all of my questions, but he also came up with a few ideas that were even better than what I had in mind. He even priced out ALL of my many different options. The price was more than fair, and the financing option made it a no-brainer. It was very impressive that he not only remembered all of the things that mattered to me when building the garage, he built it accordingly even adding a few small things here and there that I never thought about until after he did them. He didn't just build exactly what we talked about, but he put himself in my shoes and built it as if he was building his own garage. He had told me that weather permitting, they would start building the garage middle of August, around the 15th or so... In spite of all of the rain, and crazy flooding we had in Calgary this summer, the garage was READY Aug 13th!!!!With my career, I come and go at very random times, so I can say for sure that the crew was friendly, and worked cleanly and efficiently.
Throughout the whole process Derrick kept me up to date through email, and answered any questions or concerns in a timely manner. We can not say enough about Gecko Projects. They really did a fantastic job! I will be recommending them to everyone I can.

I hired Derrick to build me a 3-car garage, a deck, and fence. I wasn't sure he could do this project at first because he is a young fellow. During the day, I had to work. No one home to supervisor the progress of this project, I was concerned he might be one of those bad contractors from my past. Surprisingly, he wrote email to me and communicate with me of his progress almost in the daily bases. He finished each project on time. Although I had some issue with the concrete floor, it wasn't his fault. Overall, he was very responsible and trustworthy. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family members.
Some people think he is too expensive, I could get someone cheaper. Maybe so. I had someone cheaper to do other kind of home contract works. I believe you really get what you paid for. His work is absolutely worth it. My family is so please of the jobs that Derrick did. We are so in love with the 3-car garage and hanger out in the backyard in the summer.

We were looking for a company to build us a 2 car garage. We got quotes from five companies both big and small and we found very little to separate them. Prices were all in the same range, everyone had good references, and each had subtle pros/cons.
We chose Derrick and Gecko Projects, because he listened to us, he made recommendations that helped us without increasing cost, and his communication was excellent.
We have 2 small children and Derrick made a point of talking to them, keeping the site clean and safe, and scheduling the construction to limit the time that backyard was open to the alley.
