We found Haverkate and Associates on Homestars and had them come in and do a mold inspection. Frank was very professional, on time and extremely knowledgeable.

We used Haverkate & Associates twice in our old home for separate issues and again to purchase our new home. Home inspectors are good for some issues like structural problems or mechanical issues, however they can’t detect hidden issues such as mould or air quality problems.

We are absolutely thrilled with the service we received each time we hired them. They are prompt (in fact appointments are on the hour not a range between 9 and noon like some companies), professional, discrete, honest and well informed.

The reports are thorough and easy to understand. A big bonus for us was their service is hassle free as you can call them after the appointment -- even a few months later, if you have any questions (we always do).

I have recommended them to several of my friends and will continue to do so. We give them a big thumbs up. A 12 out of 10 for sure!

Frank is a real professional. His knowledge is just not easily found in the mold remediation business, so I feel like he is a person you can trust in this otherwise "wild west" industry. His advice and guidance, while a little more expensive, are worth the peace of mind you will get from using his services. I just wish we had called Frank first, before the other less knowledgeable companies we unfortunately used.

We wanted a mold inspection for a house we are purchasing and Haverkate and Associates were recommended to us by a mold remediation company we had used in the past. At first, I was taken aback by the cost, but after seeing what we received in exchange and the peace of mind it has afforded me, it was worth every penny! (note- we rushed our lab results, so our price was about $200 more than average) Frank does a complete air quality analysis of the home- not only mold, but carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, VOC's, and more. All of these can be harmful to a family with young children like ours. He uses an infrared camera, moisture meter, air sampling, and a mold-detecting dog. These tools combined with his visual inspection and skillfull analysis result in two reports that are easy to read, simply stated, and visually clear. And his recommendations make sense- without going overboard! Frank personally phoned as soon as the lab results came in so he could give me the good news that my furture home looked good. He also thoroughly answered any questions I had about the results with the patience required when dealing with someone whose background is NOT in air quality like his. I highly recommend Haverkate and Associates! I truly do not believe there is a company out there who can do a better job.

We have used Frank twice to detect mould after a leak, and he is both knowledgeable and professional. He responds quickly, is reliable, and is easy to interact with. He discovered that we had very high carbon dioxide levels which we would not have otherwise known about, and has helped us to correct that by making appropriate referrals to others. I highly recommend him.

When we first moved into our house, we discovered mold but didn't know where else it might be hiding. I had a few companies come in and everyone suggested cutting holes in various places to see if there was mold. Instead, I found Haverkate who brought his dog to my house and found the places where we 'knew' there was mold and only then did we start cutting.

They did a great job and was very upfront about our problem and the costs associated to the discovery & evaluation. I forget the final cost but it was reasonable.

I suspected mould in my 100 year old, rather leaky basements. Mr. Haverkate came and inspected my entire house for mould. Yes, there was some but not as much as I had suspected. He identified where the mould was and suggested that I go through certain steps. (1) eliminate the leaking that creates the moisture for the mould in the first place (2) then have a professional remediator come in and clean it up with the appropriate sealing off procedures. He even recommended people that I could contact to get these things done.

Also Mr. HaverKate's Mould Dog found a couple of minor spots that the technical equipment wasn't sensitive enough to find. They were small enough and minor enough that I could clean them up myself(before they became a problem spot). (And the dog was very professional too.)
