Service

I've been a customer with AlarmForce since 1998. I've been satisfied with their service and their customer service until now. Since both my husband and I are now retired, we decided to bundle our services together with a Home Monitoring with another provider to save on our monthly expenses. This means we no longer need AlarmForce. We contacted AlarmForce Customer Service on March 31/14 and were told to send a cancellation letter via email and they will send a UPS label back via email same day to ensure the equipment is returned back to them by mid April/14. We follow their instructions on March 31/14 and have not received the UPS label. Another email was sent on April 07/14. Still no response. I called Customer Service on April 09/14 and was told they mail the label out and I needed to gave them 60 days notice and the agent hung up on me in mid sentence mentioning she'll email a waybill. This is not acceptable customer service when an account has been with you for 15 plus years. Although, AlarmForce contacted me on April 18th to confirm my monthly charges will stop effective May 01/14, my account was still charged. Again my account was attempted to be charged for the June payment but failed because I put a stop payment which had a service fee of $10.00. Although my emails go unanswered, I received a request for the June payment on June 5 with an additional administration fee of $20. Called their Customer Care department to be assured that no more charges
will be made against the account and the refund for May will be forthcoming in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Let's hope it's resolved once and for all.

Home security

Never needed their service through 6 years at our old home, and then didn't return equipment promptly (ok it was a year later...you know how moves go sometimes). I told Alarmforce I was moving. Yes, I should have returned the equipment immediately. Their side of the story is: return our equipment or we'll continue to charge a monthly fee, no matter how old the equipment is. Supposedly you only pay for the monitoring, but even after you move from the home they are "monitoring" (obviously the equipment is disconnected at that point), even if you specifically tell them when you are moving, you are on the hook for monitoring fees because of your contract. Yes it's legal, but is it fair and responsible? I do not think so. Alarmforce and their customer service could care less though. Yes, I'm an i d i o t , but I'm not happy with their customer service and not happy I have been forced to pay for service I did not actually receive simply because I held their now worthless equipment "hostage". I'm sure my extra fees more than paid for the residual value of one extra year's retention of 6 year old disconnected equipment.

3 stars because for 6 years I never needed them, but very unhappy with the exit process (even though I'm responsible for the situation).

Return your equipment!

And don't believe "Matt" will help you. There was no response whatsoever after I sent the email he suggested I write.

alarm services

I am very dissappointed with Alarm Force. I never missed a $28 / month payment for over 8 years - despite only arming the system literally 1/2 dozen times. We kept paying for the service for the insurance discount. over the years equipment has been broken and lost. When we recently moved I called to cancel the service. They insisted I return the old equipment (base station - they said was "obsolete" , door contacts - broken over 8 years of use, and the motion sensor that I threw out because it was yellow from being in the sun of the front window. They readily admitted it would never be used again and was essentially garbage. I have now been charged for them to end our 8 year relationship, and I am now leaving being a very dissatisfied customer. I would not recommend Alarm Force to anyone.

We do provide equipment to our customers at no charge but the equipment always remains the property of AlarmForce. It is yours to keep for as long as you have our services but does need to be returned if a customer decides to cancel.

Alarmforce

Alarmforce customer service was horrible. Nearing the end of my contract I asked for a patio door sensor and was offered a small discount. $30.00 a month should include a system I feel secure with. At night after disabling the motion sensors with pets, I was paying to arm one door. Ridiculous ....

Alarm

I have had Alarm Force for over 5 years. The system works well. My only concern is the customer support isn't friendly at all. When I asked if there are any perks to being customer who has never been late on a payment or has never had a false alarms they asked if I wanted to talk to the tec department. He just wanted to get me off the phone... The customer support clearly doesn't value there long term customers. I'm also paying $40 a month with all the extras I have....I'm going to call around to other companies after reading the other reviews... When I started with alarm force years ago the customer service was really great.. Wonder what's going on with them....

Alarm Force Termination

After being a client of Alarm Force for almost 7 years I sold my home. I contacted Alarm force as the new owners expressed interest in continuing the service. They did not continue the service and I was 3.5 years beyond my 3 year contract obligation. Alarm force continued to charge me for 6 months even though I did not have service or access to the equipment which they insisted I return even though it was 7 years old and some items were no longer functioning. I am disgusted with Alarm Force and I would not recommend them to any one. Once I asked for an alarm certificate and they did not get my address correct and showed my home on the certificate in Ontario rather than in Alberta. Alarm force has turned a 7 year loyal customer into a very disgruntled client. Even after I secured the equipment and returned the equipment they continued to bill my account for services and send me collection letters even though I had a confirmed UPS delivery receipt showing the equipment was returned in February.

Alarm System

I have been with this company for approximately 5 years. I have to state that the service is what you pay for. It is a basic home alarm system with two door alarms and one motion detector. The problem with this system is that it drains the batteries approximately ever 5-6 months. I also think the products that they provide are a bit outdated compared to newer companies.

alarm

I called to get the service an it took hrs for him to confirm my schedule. When they came they didn't have the camera I asked for on three different times to make sure they had it scheduled an all he could say was I'm sorry for the miscommunication an I do see you called to confirm. ...but the tech can install the alarm an you can call back an reschedule for the camera to be installed. ...I didn't get the system if this is how you treat your customers then I rather go else were.......THE WORST COMPANY...offer your customers something for your mistakes

Alarm System

I had AlarmForce installed several years ago and I have to say that there is nothing better. They give you several pieces of free hardware and the cost is only $25 / month. There is a live operator that come on if you're broken into so there's a great peace of mind. The service people are amazing and friendly. i would highly recommend this service.
