Home Alarm

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

Our alarm is now set on every time we leave the house since our “watch” dog is no longer with us. We have felt so confident with the system over the years that we simply spread the word “down the street” & to relatives and they all signed up.

home security

Read the fine print. When you cancel they charge you for 60 days of service, but demand you return all your equipment and close the account before those 60 days are up (or you get charged an ADDITIONAL month). You end up paying for a month of service you're not getting. I asked a customer service rep why they don't ask for the equipment back AFTER the pay period is over and she essentially told me to shut up and accept it. I asked to escalate, but her superior refused to come to the phone (I was told "She won't waive the charge and can't talk to you"). When I questioned how a service-centric company could show such a lack of customer focus in the days of social media and pointed out how easily I could get online and tell countless people about my negative experience her reply was "You do whatever you need to do."

It's worth noting that I was pleasant and respectful during out conversation and this was not simply a call centre rep responding naturally to a rude and impossible customer.

Home protection

Alarmforce customers beware - For a company that relies on honesty and reputation for business, has access via voice and video to your home you would hope that you could trust them at their word - unfortunately not.

I was a customer for over 3 years and had a system connected to my landline. I decided to move to the new wireless system and cancel my landline as it was never used so I arranged and paid for the wireless system to be installed. After the technician cancelled one appointment and on the following 2 bought faulty equipment he finally installed the new box ($113) He then informed me that I had a weak signal strength so the box probably wouldnt work anyway but to give it a try. So the following day I set the alarm and when I came home forget that it was on. I was in the house over an hour before the alarm finally activated. So I contacted the company explaining what had occurred and spent the next hour troubleshooting with tech support. This situation continued for the next 2 months with over a dozen calls to the company and, on one occasion the technician insisting that the alarm was fine and it must be me. I then spoke to customer service, explained that the system was not working since installation and that I required a refund for the wireless box and for the months that I had paid since installation without service. I was informed by both the customer service rep and the supervisor that a refund would be issued when a technician had re attended and confirmed the system was not working. They booked an appointment for 2 weeks ahead and took another months payment. They then cancelled on the day of the appointment and delayed the appointment for another 2 weeks. When the technician finally arrived he confirmed that the system was defective and called Alarmforce to update the information.

I then called customer service in order to confirm the refund of the $113 wireless box fee as well as the 4 months payments ($144) while the alarm system was defective. I was then told by a customer service supervisor that they were willing to refund the $113 but not the $144 monthly payments. Even though I pointed out that this had already been agreed and recorded on 2 previous conversations they still refused to pay the refund.

This company cannot be trusted. I was a loyal customer for years and, when it came to doing the right thing they refused to honour their word. Customers put their trust in this company to protect both their privacy and property and yet they cannot be trusted to keep their word. A company that is willing to risk their reputation for such a small sum clearly lacks integrity and should be avoided at all costs.

Alarm Force

They are the worst. The installer put a camera at the front door and stapled the line onto the face of the door casing. The door would not close properly after. They used black duct tape to terminate the electrical splice's which was visible. Had them come back and they did nothing. I paid full amount for the monitoring just to get them to remove it. Equipment is junk. Service is poor.

Garbage Company

Alarm Force products really sucks.They are very old school. Alarm force charge $25 for basic system and they give you 3 sensors with a panel.Then they charge you lots of money for buying extra sensors. It does not work at all.Piece of crap!!

Home security

Easy to install home security provided my family with peace of mind and comfort of knowing assistance was always available,especially liked the live in home voice contact from staff if alarm was engaged in error.

ALARM FORCE IS USELESS

This is absolutley the worst service I have ever paid for. Three times in a rown they noshowed for instalation, 3 afternoons I took off work. Then when they did show, they didn't install it properly. It doesnt work and its impossible to get a technition out to look at it. Complete waste of money and time. Not to mention the worst customer service I have ever experienced out of there head office in Toronto. DO NOT CHOOSE ALARM FORCE!! HUGE REGRET!!

Alarm Force home security

Alarm force runs $ 25.00 per month I had the system installed on April 26th. My husband is a police officer and I told them on the phone and discussed with the installer that the yard sign is the biggest thing you are paying for. They see that and go on. The installer did not tell me he was out of signs until he was done with the installation. I have called the office and they just say when ever he gets stock back in he will be there. This is not May 16th. No yard sign yet. We will probably go with another company and have them take this out.

Alarm force system and video relay

ABSOLUTELY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! every time we speak to them, they are rude and unhelpful. They always say they will call back if there's an issue and they don't. So we end up calling them back. Huge headache dealing with them every time. Price is ok, but customer service ruins it.

Alarm

Do not use Alarmforce!!!We moved from our address to down the street but have been charged for 6 months for a service we haven't used since the move. They claim this is for the alarm panel rental which we have tried to return for the last few months. I tried to get a refund they said no I tried to speak to a supervisor the girl on the phone said there was no way a supervisor would be able to get me a refund either and did not put anyone else on the phone. Basically they have been withdrawing payments for 6 months automatically.
