Waterman

Our plumbing was a mess. We knew this buying the house but it was something we were willing to live with until we could fix it...when Steve came in to camera our drains he asked what the problem was. I told him there was a constant odor from the pipes and recently, another plumber had suggested getting the drains checked. Steve knew immediately that it wasn't the drain that was the problem, he said "I think your stack has been cut" and I was so pleased!...we had been told, originally, that that was likely a problem so I wasn't surprised, if anything, I was relieved that it was a problem that he recognized so quickly. We agreed that the best thing to do would be to replace all of the main plumbing; he assured me that though it was a big cost up front, the job would be done once and never again. He also informed me of the rebate program running so that we could recover some of our cost. Once I gave the go-ahead, Jim's team was there working their butts off. Every employee was polite, friendly and professional. I felt comfortable having them in my home and I had regular contact with them at all times. Having your plumbing ripped out sucks, but the guys at Watermen made it as good an experience as possible!

I called steve late evening on a Wednesday and a half hour later he was at my place assessing the situation. If he hadn't come I would have done laundry and flooded my basement. I had a clogged trap outside because my backwater valve had closed and no clean out. We stopped all use of water at his request. His men were at my house early next morning and by mid afternoon I had working drains again. He patiently explained, more than once to me what needed to be done and I get it now. I will definitely be calling Steve again when I have plumbing/drain issues. I live in Toronto now, not Etobicoke - that was my old place.

I had a frozen pipe, the waterman guy came, and it was a holiday.
He suggested changing the meter location, and they did a good job.

However, the inspector from the city came today, and he told me the plumber should have moved the device that sends the signal to the city when he moved the meter, but he just cut the wire off. The inspector installed a new device for me.

Waterman also promised me to come, return the dryer to its place, and send the housekeepers to clean my tenant's apartment. I have called and left couple of text messages, never heard back. I feel very disappointed.

I contacted Steve Martel based on a recommendation. He came the same day I and assessed the situation for me. He spent over an hour of his time (no charge) trying to find the source of the problem, which he did (he's extremely thorough). Within a few days, one of his guys was at our place swapping out the faulty pump at a very competitive price. Super friendly and down to earth. Very knowledgable and willing to educate the client. HIGHLY recommend!
