Doktor Handyman

We had a number of odd jobs to get done around the house that required an expert. We needed four remote-controlled ceiling fans installed, a garburator replaced and a kitchen light fixture replaced. We called a number of handymen, and finally settled on KC from Doktor Handyman. Why? He was patient on the phone, his price was reasonable, he was very experienced and the credentials were phenomenal (licensed, warranty, written contract, liability insurance, workers compensation).

KC arrived on time on the agreed-upon date with some help to make the work go by faster. His team worked hard and fast, and we liked that he explained the pros and cons of everything he was going to do. He was incredibly knowledgeable. We loved that he cleaned as he went along. When the installation of the garburator caused some problems (old house), he called some of his contacts to figure out a solution. As stores were closing, nothing more could be done that day. KC came back the next day (his day off) with the necessary parts. He actually went to the store to get the missing parts. The garburator now works. Despite the job taking longer than expected (by no fault of his), KC didn't charge us extra. We were also comforted by the fact that he told us several times he was just a phone call away should any problems arise. He was very pleasant and fair, and we felt safe with him in the house. He is a jack of all trades ... and a master of all!!! We have a number of other things we'd like to do in the house, and won't hesitate to call KC for the job. I've already recommended him to my parents.

A big thank you to KC for a job well-done. Talk about professional, reliable, and friendly. When he realized we were missing wheels for the closet doors, to save time (and headache), KC went to the store to pick up the wheels on our behalf. We were so comfortable with him we went about our business leaving KC to his. If there was a decision to be made, big or small, KC always discussed the matter with us first providing the pros and cons. In the end we trusted his judgement which was always spot-on. We're already looking at other projects to be completed, and without hesitation we'll be calling Doktor Handyman once again.

KC was a pleasure to work with. The job was a bit of an emergency and he came to scope out the work extremely quickly. His price was very reasonable and he completed the work promptly and at a very high level of quality. This was the second job I hired KC to do for me. I had KC return to drill the hole for my kitchen fan exhaust. Once again he did not disappoint. A Consummate professional and very skillful handyman. He and his team did just as wonderfully on this job as in the past. They had the job completed within a reasonable amount of time, they were hard working, and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. Thanking KC again for a job well done.

KC recently came into to work on my basement kitchen. The only thing he had to work with was rough in pipes. He came in and within one day installed plumbing, sink, counter top and taps; he did an amazing job. He went above and behind by levelling our cabinets perfectly for no extra charge. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the work I required. KC was patient and answered all our questions. When they finished KC and his assistant cleaned up and left the room in good shape. I plan on hiring KC to also drill the hole for my kitchen exhaust fan. Definitely a professional gentleman who knows what he doing.

KC and his crew are really great to deal with.
Though there was a slight delay in getting the job done, KC always kept us informed with the progress and finished it to our satisfaction. The planters and bench was exactly what we had asked for.

We recently hired KC to do work on our rental property and are very grateful to have found him! KC did various tasks for us - tiling, installing laminate, painting, installing stove exhausts, and many other odd jobs around the place. KC and his assistant, Bobby, are very professional, courteous, hard working and reliable! He was at the job site every day, staying late most nights, and even delayed a personal trip to make sure our job was done on time. He was always cognizant of keeping us within our budget and helped us avoid unnecessary costs wherever possible.

Hiring a reliable contractor or handyman for a job of our size (or any job) can be stressful, but KC made it easy for us to trust him! He is a man of his word and ensured we were 110% satisfied with everything he had done. He was always available to us on the job site and always answered our phone calls promptly. We highly recommend KC and will be calling on him for all of our future handyman needs!

We needed filler of a cabinet trimmed in order to fit a new built-in fridge. KC arrived on time and was professional. It was our first time using this contractor, and we found that KC has a high attention to detail and quality, and got the job done. My only issue is that I was expecting a handyman who had a variety of tools in his truck, as a salesperson from Lowes mentioned that most handymen travel with a full load of equipment. However, KC had to take the piece off-site and returned the following day. This added an additional hour of labour costs. However, the job was done as requested and his professionalism and punctuality was notable.

I have to revise my assessment. The work done failed two months later. Attempts to have KC return have not worked out. The follow through is just not there.

KC was professional, courteous and responsive. He was able to fix the problem of a leaky window and repair drywall with little disturbance to my tenant.
