Master Drain & Water Works

I believe that a mark of a truly outstanding company is not in how they handle easy and uncomplicated jobs but in the manner that they respond to the ones that go awry. In this sense, Vitaly (apologies if I misspelled his name) and his team at Master Drain and Water Works proved their worth and mettle.

I called Vitaly and two other contractors to estimate the cost of replacing the private portion of my service line, which was lead on the outside leading up to a rusty galivanized valve and pipe inside.

Vitaly came in way under the other 2 contractors and, to be truthful, this worried me if not for the fact that my buddy swore by the quality of his work.

Getting in touch with him was easy as Vitaly answers his cell phone day and night. His crew arrived promptly at the agreed hour and started work. A few hours into it, things started going wrong. Due to the location of the pipe and the elevation of both the driveway and basement, Vitaly's crew had to rethink their original plan and figure out how to replace the pipe with as little disruption to me and my family.

After digging a few more holes and finally getting the torpedo to work accurately (the thing got stuck several times initially), the pipe was replaced and water flowed properly into the house for the first time in a very long while.

All this time, Vitaly kept me updated of their progress and was truthful about the situation and this allowed me to plan and adjust my schedule accordingly. What should have been a relatively straightforward 4 to 6 hour job turned into 3 days.

I was expecting Vitaly to readjust his estimate and ask for more money but he didn't and instead honored his commitment despite the extra time his crew had to spend in getting this work done.

To me, Vitaly's team were caught unprepared by how the former homeowners of my property did things. Throughout the work, I noticed the shortcuts that were done to the house and plumbing. If anyone was to blame for these complications, it would be the people who built/renovated the house. Despite all these problems, Vitaly was always courteous and ensured that the work continued and finished properly.

I highly recommend Master Drain and Works to anyone in need of reliable and cost-effective plumbing services.

There was a foul smell coming from a basement drain and I called Vitaly who came and investigated the pipe with his camera, showing me the situation and explaining that a root had broken through the pipe and was clogging it (this hasn't been the first time since there are alot of really old and big trees on neighbouring lots - at least this time we caught it before it flooded). He explained what needed to be done and two men came the next day and dug up and fixed the problem. They cleaned up perfectly and fixed the problem. VItaly came while they were cleaning and checked again with the camera and all was fixed. He made some great suggestions about how to help with any future situations and I arranged for him to come annually to check out the drains so that we can nip problems in the bud. As well he returned in a couple of days to make an adjustment to the drain so that floods would no longer occur in the carpeted area of the basement. I would highly recommend his services - timely, professional and effective.

I recently had Vitaliy and his crew assess and replace my main drain from my stack to the city line. The quote for the work was excellent, and the crew worked very efficiently. The work started with replacement of a portion of the drain because of a tree root – Vitaliy checked the rest and it turned out that roots had broken through in a few other places. My clay drain ran directly down my driveway so the job required significant excavation. The crew left the work site clean once they finished the job. The work also included replacement of the lower part of my stack and some excavation in my basement. They left the inside the way they found it using drop sheets. Overall, I’m very happy with the work and would recommend Master Drain & Water Works.

We've had issues with our main drain backing up in the past but when it happened a few weeks ago it had been five years since the last back up and we expected that this time we would require more than just drain snaking. When it happened we called a well known drain company, who promptly came to our home to investigate. They told us that there wasn't any point in snaking the drain and that it would cost anywhere from $2,000 to $3,200 to replace a portion of the drain. They stressed that it was urgent that we have it done and told us that the cost of the visit ($300) would be waived if we agreed right then and there to proceed with the work. We felt they were holding us hostage and didn't like the feeling so we told them we would get back to them. It was about 10:00 pm by this time and after checking Home Stars we decided to contact Master Drain & Water Works the next morning. We are so happy that we did. Viitaliy promptly came to check out the situation and gave us a clear understanding of the issue. He indicated that snaking was possible but that we would probably be calling again within 1 to 6 months. Like the first company he recommended replacement of a portion of the drain pipe but unlike the first company he did a very thorough job of detecting exactly where the issue was and indicated that we were fine to use our plumbing for a few days without having it snaked. Vitaliy was profession, unassuming, honest and reassuring. We decided to proceed with the work recommended by Vitaliy at a cost of $1,500 (far less than the other quote). Vitaliy's excavation team was courteous, clean and prompt. Once they had uncoverd the section of drain to be replaced they showed me the issue (I'm shocked that anything was getting through) and they worked quickly to replace the clay pipe. During the replacement work Vitaliy dropped by to see the progress being made and gave me a thorough update. Upon completion you would never have known that a portion of our furnace room floor had been dug up - they left everything as clean as it had been before they started. Within an hour of completion Vitaliy gave me a call to ensure that everything was okay and I really appreciated that. Of course the big test came when we started to do laundry again and after more than a week of regular water usage we are confident that the issue has been fully resolved. We would highly recommend Vitaliy and his team.

Our laundry machine stopped working suddenly. In the past, we've always had temporary fixes done by our handyman with a snake to clear the clogged drain. A friend recommended the company and so we called. Vitaliy was easy to talk to, he arrived the next day for a camera inspection and the following day had his crew working on the problem area. The job (digging,removal of clay pipe + roots,replacing with PVC pipe and refill with concrete floor) was completed same day. Everything worked out exactly as Vitaliy told us. As another review states, english was not the first language of the workers but it wasn't an issue for us. It's great to have guys work quietly and efficiently. Definitely, happy to recommend.

Overall very happy with the service provided by Vitaliy and Master Drain. I like that his cell phone number is the main number for the company and he always answers when you call.

He was very prompt to meet me to provide an estimate and follow up with a time to complete the job.

His crew worked quickly and efficiently, however they spoke limited english which meant I had to ensure all communication was through Vitaly (who wasn't on site for the actual work).

I should have taken off one star for recommendation due to some confusion around a promotion through his website. In the end it was resolved but I recommend double checking any promotions directly with Vitaly before proceeding with any work.

I would definitely use Master Drain again for future work.

Our old lead water pipe was leaking to the point of very low water pressure so we had to change the entire line. After searching around we came to Vitaly who offered a very fair price. His team was prompt, careful and truly had done an excellent job. Our water pressure is better than ever and we would definitely recommend Vitaly and his team to whomever has any plumbing issues.

G Bates was supposed to replace my entire sewer line in 2000. They left some old clay pipe rather than finish the job and they also angled the last 5 feet so that the sewage pooled and the pipe was destined to clog and fail. It did. All this having been inspected by the City of Mississauga as per building permit! This diagnosis confirmed by the Region of Peel. After reading the HomeStars reviews, I contacted Master Drains and Water Works and arranged for the repairs to be done. Vitily Dymchuk came when he said he would, his 2 men dug the hole and did the repair and left my place looking very clean and tidy. They explained the problems they encountered and their account jibed with that of the Region of Peel. I was somewhat surprised that Vitily did not return to inspect the work before the hole was filled in but all appears to be working fine once more. This was a good experience and the cost was competitive with the other quotes I received. I recommend this company.

We were required to change lead water service and galvanized pipes to copper as a result of the mandatory water meter program. Vitaly was referred to us by our plumber. He provided a quote over the phone after our plumber Steve Punyi described the problem to him. We arranged for his workers to come in 2 days later. Upon looking at the job, they told us that we did not have to change the pipes as they were copper. I had to call Vitaly and he agreed that he was aware that the pipes were galvanized and needed to be changed and informed his crew to do so. The job was completed that day as promised and we met Vitaly the following day to pay him. The cost for the job was the average listed for this type of work in the homestars reviews I had seen. I would just make sure that the crew understands the work to be completed as I am not sure if the miscommunication was due to level of English. Although the pipes were wrapped, the crew should have been able to determine that they were in fact galvanized, not copper.

I have been dealing with this issus for years.
Vitaly located the problem one day and fixed it the next.
Vitaly and his crew were prompt, professional and very reasonably priced.
