His designs were customized for our home and he was exacting in all aspects of the installation. The workmen that were in our home were meticulous and really took pride in their work. We spent time getting quite a few offers and designs for our Kitchen remodel but we were dissatisfied because we were unable to obtain a quote and design that included the complete package. We contacted Oakville Kitchen designers and John came over to look at our kitchen and listened to our wants and needs. He came back with a very different and innovative design from the other companies, at a competitive price. He was also willing to take on the complete renovation, custom kitchen, electrical, plumbing, plastering and tiling, which is what we were looking for right from the start.
We had a tight schedule as part of our complete house renovation and they came in on time and more importantly on budget.
Additionally the contractors were professional, friendly and always on time.

We had an extensive house renovation completed that included a total removal, remodel and expansion of our kitchen, removal and remodel of the master bedroom ensuite, main bathroom and powder room. This was a major and extensive renovation that at the beginning, seemed very daunting. John’s approach was very assuring starting with preliminary discussions, rough sketches, onsite visits and detailed review of final plans. John had great ideas and customized the design, layout, cabinetry and hardware to our taste and style. He was also very helpful in coming up with different design ideas and cabinetry ideas throughout the kitchen and bathrooms always being mindful of our budget. John also took the time to accompany us to select our flooring, tiles and fixtures for all the rooms. As with any major renovation, there are always some changes that come about. John and team were very accommodating and once again, able to provide additional ideas for consideration. Truly, a customer first approach, which is hard to come by these days.

John, thank you for the great work, patience and helping us stay the course through the renovations. Thank you for meeting the needs of very fussy clients. We are very pleased with the results and are enjoying our new kitchen and bathrooms. Our home is approximately 20 years home and 3 of the 5 bathrooms needed upgrading. We retained Oakville Kitchen Designers and Towne Contracting to design the bathrooms and execute the work. We were extremely pleased with the design, the products and the workmanship. The trades workers were all highly skilled, considerate and all of them understood the importance of regular open communication. When we wanted something changed or were not satisfied with something it was attended to and addressed immediately. The quality of the cabinets were exceptional and also special mention to Ivan who installed all the honed marble which is extraordinary. We had also used Oakville Kitchen Designers for our kitchen renovation a couple of years ago. The bathrooms and the kitchen are truly showpieces that everyone comments on. We used Oakville Kitchen Designers to manage all aspects of our Kitchen reno in mid 2013. We selected OKD based on the competitiveness of their pricing as well as favourable word of mouth recommendations from others in our neighborhood. John Vanderkolk was the lead on our project. The initial design was very well laid out and intuitive and supported by an unbelievably life like computer rendering that made us very comfortable with the plan. We selected Luxor cabinetry which is so professionally finished our guests continue to compliment the look of the cabinets. What impressed me the most about OKD:
- The job was completed ON TIME.
- John handled our concerns through the reno process in a very professional manner. He ensured that we were satisfied with the resolution to any concerns.
- After sales service has been fantastic and far beyond my expectations. We had a small issue with one of the cabinets that we wanted John to look at nearly 8 months after the reno completion. He sent one of his contractors over within a week. The contractor fixed the issue and realigned all the cabinet doors - some had settled or moved a bit due to changes in the humidity level from summer to winter and were a bit out alignment - I say a bit because my wife and I hadn't even noticed there was an issue. Anyway, an investment of a day of contractor time at his expense 8 months after all bills had been paid is what impressed us. There wasn't any hesitation on John's part at all - the contractor was just sent over to make things right.
Overall we are very pleased with our new kitchen and are very impressed by how great it looks.

We plan to use OKD for future renos to our upstairs bathrooms.

As this was my first time renovating, I was quite nervous about choosing the right contractor for the job. I decided to use Oakville Kitchen Designers for my kitchen reno as I was very impressed with the kitchens on the website, and the design plan for my kitchen developed by John Anthony Vanderkolk. I was very happy that the reno proceeded smoothly, and was completed reasonably on time and within the quoted budget. I was especially impressed with the Luxor cabinets installed by Paul. They completely transformed the look of the kitchen. Overall, I am very satisfied with the reno and would recommend Oakville Kitchen Designers.

Oakville Kitchen Designers transformed our kitchen and family room into a beautiful, contemporary living space. Prior to the renovation, we were going to move. We were frustrated by the smaller size and layout of our kitchen. Oakville Kitchen Designers reconfigured the space, maximizing storage and allowing for greater functionality. We went from having 1 work space to having multiple workspaces, in addition to a beautiful new island. We doubled our storage space. Oakville Kitchen Designers also helped us with the esthetics -- helping us with all of our selections (from the style of the cabinetry to the countertops and backsplash). All of the contractors involved on the project were fantastic. We are extremely pleased with the results. The kitchen went from being the most problematic part of our house to being our favourite design feature. We highly recommend Oakville Kitchen Designers.

We worked with John on some new cabinetry for our showroom including display cabinets, reception desk area and a new kitchen. John had great ideas for the designs, prices were reasonable and we are pleased with the end result. We will use John again.
