the deck guys

My deck was over 15 years old, deteriorating, and in need of repair. I decided to hire The Deck Guys after James came by to assess the problem......great decision. He was professional, pleasant and easy to communicate with. His skilled team, John and Jim, was extremely hard working and ensured their work area was completely cleaned up at the end of the job. My deck has been transformed.....a space I'm now happy to use.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to The Deck guys for the exceptional project they designed and implemented. The quality of their work was truly remarkable, and I am extremely content with the final results. Throughout the project, Jamie demonstrated outstanding responsiveness and attentiveness to my needs and concerns. I look forward to the opportunity to work with The Deck guys again in the near future.

After much research and getting 3 quotes from 3 reputable companies, (there was a fourth but they never quoted), I decided to go with The Deck Guys to build my new deck and, boy am I glad I did!! James and his crew came through with flying colours!! Not only did James show up right on time, so did his crew, Jim and John. James also had the best price out of all 3 companies that quoted and, not only that, but he used better quality materials and the deck is secured with helical piles. I had an extremely tight deadline as I was leaving on vacation and my existing deck was literally falling over. Jim and John arrived on time every morning and worked in the sun and in the rain! and ensured my deck was built on time. No detail was too small and it was evident that Jim and John were perfectionists!! I now have a brand new, composite deck that is absolutely stunning and summer ready. I would highly recommend James, Jim and John for your next deck project; you won't be disappointed!!

We had the deck guys design and complete our deck and porch project at our residence. After no help from the city in getting our permit , once finally received The Deck Guys were ready to go. They completed the work professionally, in budget and in a timely manner, even with the unforeseen minor delays that all businesses face. We are now 4 years into our new deck and a couple of small deficiencies were discovered. The Deck guys were there to look after the issues and honor their warranty period. This is the reason I decided to write a review. Yes the install was great, but the warranty is backed. Sean is a truthful to a fault. He tells it like it is and delivers. This is a rare trait these days. I wish all the best to ' The Deck Guys " !

Constant project delays and unresponsive. Project was never completed. I successfully sued them in court and won my judgement. They will not pay up and I am currently chasing them for payment.

My brother had recommended The Deck Guys after he used them to build a car port and fence. I needed to replace my back yard fence and am very happy with the results. Adam came out to meet me and to take measurements. As we walked, he explained the process in detail and answered all questions I had. The project was seamless. He gave me timelines, followed up with phone calls and kept me in the loop during the installation. I have received many compliments and will be sure to recommend The Deck Guys.

What a team!!! These craftsmen take a lot of pride in their work and it definitely shows. We never expected our deck to look as great as it does. We were learning as we went along but Scott knew the stairs needed to be wider than we designed and took it upon himself to fix the situation and we couldn't be happier. Thank-you Scott and team!

As with Covid, everyone and their neighbour was doing some type of backyard landscaping. And also with Covid, came the shortage of materials. I worked with Sean on our deck project who is as honest as they get.

Our project took a long time, but not to The Deck Guy's fault. As mentioned, Covid impact, Mother Nature, City Permit Approval and the challenges of dealing with contract workers and other landscaping jobs at our house made it a longer than normal project.

The guys that work for and contractors that work with The Deck Guys are all great hard working individuals. They are true craftsmen and they listen, should you have any questions or concerns. Sean is a very busy guy running most of the jobs so getting a hold of him can be difficult but I found that he still listened, whether I left him a voicemail or text. I can imagine it difficult to answer when both hands are working.

What we ended up with, after it was all said and done, was an amazing deck that will last us a lifetime. The quality of materials, the quality of workmanship, the attention to detail, it's all top notch and second to none. They do it right the first time. From City Permit, to Helical Piles, to selecting the best foundation wood, to installing the composite decking. Just beautiful and perfect. We had lights put in too and Sean was kind enough to put some in locations where others would not be able to do or want to.

We absolutely love our deck and can't say thank you enough to Sean and team. So if you have the time and patience, can understand that you truly get what you pay for and that they are humans and not machines, Sean and The Deck Guys are the best choice.

Having being in the trades for 30 years,it was Wonderfull to meet someone passionate and conscientious about their business like myself and have Scott ,design and install our deck . To have a "professional who not only surpassed my expectations and went beyond , at his own expense to create the most beautiful deck for myself and family i can only say you do not need to search anymore. Scotts expertise and experience will give you results you want without stress .Having seen friends who had decks built by contractors looked like handymans work in comparison, the photo does not show the beautiful glass along the stairs that followed
