** WARNING ** Do not do business with Home Pro Exterior Services. I have just had the worst experience dealing with this company over the past three weeks. They up-sold me on a Groupon and suckered me in to installing a new chimney cap.

I would have been satisfied with my decision, paying a premium for the convenience of having it done. However, two days later the cap blew clean off the chimney and crashed down on my driveway.

I placed 3 calls in to their dispatch service over a week. Finally someone called me back and scheduled an appointment to have the work repaired. The appointment window came and no one showed. When I inquired with Scott, the owner of the Home Pro Exterior Services over email, he claimed that there was too much rain to do the work (not at all true), and that he placed a call earlier in the day to tell me they weren't going to make it (not at all true).

Scott then offered to have another appointment set up for someone else to come by and repair the work, but then no one called to follow-up. I've placed 7 calls in to their dispatch service to try and put some closure to this mess.

No one has called me back from Home Pro Exterior Services.

Stay away... stay far away from these clowns.

I purchased a Groupon for an eavestrough cleaning. Made an appointment. Technician arrived took his ladder to the back of the house went up to the top of the ladder for a couple of minutes. He never even went on the roof! Came down than went and sat in his van playing with his phone and smoking cigarettes for the next 40 minutes. Came to my door and said the cleaning was done. I told him I saw what he did as I can see everything from my 2nd floor windows. Asked him to not play games and just tell the truth at which time he walked away collected his ladder and left. I tried to talk to him as he was leaving and he wouldn't even look at me.

Called the company and they just gave me the runaround.

Never trust this company.

Never hire this company.

They are dishonest and deserve all of the '"0" reviews they have received on Homestars.

Home Pro Exterior Services – WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ! On Sept. Fred received our $100 deposit and signed the contract with my wife. About week later, they sent another technician installed the one way door trap on the roof. Around Oct. 29, they sent a technician to make sure there's no raccoon inside the attic and blocked the hole with metal net, but didn't reseal the soffit using panel. The tech even left the insulation material (like garbage) on the roof. After the technician told me that there's no more animal inside the attic, I sighed the satisfactory sheet inside my room. But when I come out and found he didn't reseal the soffit and asked him to fix it, he asked extra money for that. We called their head office several times about this issue, but Scott and other staff who answered was cold and rude. I reported this to BBB. They insisted we pay extra money for the “additional work”.

These guys left a big opening and garbage on our roof, made a worse looking of the house than the animal did. This was unacceptable. Their sales person was misleading and their service person was unprofessional and unethical. Now we have to find out and pay another company to fix the problem before it starts snowing.

Very unethical company, stay away

Called Home Pro on Sunday November 3, 2013 10 am requesting an estimation to fix a flat roof leakage above my garage. Phone agent asked: “If price is right, will you do it right away?” I said: “Yes”. Technician (Fred) arrived in about an hour and informed me that it will cost me $300 plus whatever additional required to repairing the leakage. I said it is not a quote, as I do not know the total cost. I declined to proceed.

Then he said it is only a couple punctures to seal and no extra money required. A bit suspicious at that moment, I asked if he is going to give me a written contract and warranty. Fred asked a deposit and provided a contract with 6 months warranty written with his signature. When I gave him a deposit he said he will comeback tomorrow as on Sunday he has a day off.

On Monday afternoon I got a call from him (he was at my place) saying that I need to pay 600$ extra to replace a piece of plywood. I was shocked… and advice him not to proceed. He called me back saying it still can be fixed, and asked me to text him my credit card information. I became very suspicious at this point and decided to go home from work to check what is going on.

On my arrival, he said everything is fixed and requested me to pay a balance. I issued a cheque. Fred did not leave right away and was writing some paper and asked me to sign a note agreeing to nullify our contract because I did not follow his advice. I was shocked again… and explicitly asked if the problem fixed or he just only now gave me a proper estimation. He assured me it’s been fixed and will last the winter, but maybe not 6 months. Confused and shocked again I declined to sign and asked him to leave.

Next day afternoon when rain started, the leakage continued. I called the company to complain and either to fix it or return my money, talk to an agent and he advise me to call tomorrow. Called again and the same agent said he is going to talk to a manager (Scott). Nobody returned my calls. On Friday November 8th 2013 I called again and same agent informed me they are not going to fix the problem neither to issue a refund, essentially they do not care.

MOST UNETHICAL...BUYER BEWARE! After completing an eavestrough cleaning which was purchased through Groupon, Kelly presented a list of roof deficiencies. We paid an additional money to have some vents secured and plumbing stacks resealed. Kelly then sold us a "roof maintenance package" for $200.00, took a $50.00 deposit for this service and scheduled us an appointment. The day before our appointment, Scott called to tell us that there was no way they would be replacing 1 bundle of shingles for $200.00, and asked for more money. Scott was completely unfazed when we pointed out that a contract for this work had already been prepared by Kelly and the deposit was paid. We insisted on the contract confirming the rate quoted by Kelly in order to prevent complication on the day of the appointment. Little did we know that this company would behave in such an unprofessional and unethical manner and not honour their agreement. We refused to pay the additional costs and insisted our $50.00 deposit be returned to our credit card. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Fell for their coupon upsell like everyone else. Purchased Groupon and they never performed the work and made us sign an invoice saying we'd agree to pay extra to have the services performed. After filing numerous complaints, they only agreed to a refund if we removed our review so others couldn't be warned. Very unethical.

With so many reviews sharing this same experience, I would question others that give this company a 10.

I purchased a Groupon for Home Pro back in December 2012. When I wanted to use it, they said they were fully booked for vouchers until April 2013. Since I need the chimney clean for that winter, I had to go elsewhere but they guaranteed my voucher validity until Sept 2013.

I emailed in Sept 2013 to set up an appointment. It was pretty seamless. Brandy was helpful. She gave a 4 hour window and I said my aunt, no I, would be there. Not a problem. On service day, the technician could not find the house (I still don't understand to this day) and could not reach my aunt, who doesn't speak English.

Home Pro kindly rescheduled. Second attempt, they showed up but the technician felt that the chimney was not safe for use and hence, did not want to clean it. He quote to repair some roofing shingles at that time for $30-$40 instead. My aunt paid for it.

Since I could not redeem the voucher, I asked for a refund. I've had bad experiences with group vouchers but Home Pro was very professional and issued a refund cheque right away.

Extremely impressed. A rocky start but the integrity of this company is there and they will have my future business.

Purchased groupon for inspection including replacing up to 20 shingles. We suspected we may be missing part of one. He gave a quote which entails you must buy a package full of things you may not need, they cant customize apparently. Once I agreed to proceed, he left for a pack of shingles as he could not buy one he said. He went back up removed other shingles came back down..oops it will cost you $200 more as i have to replace plywood .So off he goes again to buy plywood. I am stuck now as roof is exposed if it rains. I asked him why he didnt see that before, no real explanation. So now my bill is in essense $650 to replace one shingle and a big piece of plywood he removed. So you purchase package and still pay for groupon. I asked for pictures which they said they would send that was 6 weeks ago and they keep saying they are on their way. Total rip off , i should have reviewed homestars first.. I at least insisted on keeping the remainder of the shingles and the remaining piece of plywood to which he happily obliged.

I bought a groupon service for a simple eavestrough cleaning. This company did not do the work. After the technician left I went on my balcony only to see all of the eavestroughs in my view still filled with leaves. I don't know what this person did in 1/2 hr but he did not do the job I paid for. Instead he kept knocking on my door telling me about roof problems on a 3 yr old brand new house and offering to fix it for a cost that kept decreasing every time I said NO. Don't buy any group by deal from this company. I am so pissed off. I didn't bother to call them back to actually do the job. Thank god I only lost $40. I now have to hire a professional to get the job done.

I had gotten my roof repaired by a different company and after them failing to fix the problem I had contacted Home Pro to find a remedy to this problem. After speaking with a lady at the office, she got one of the techs to come take a look at it in just a few hours. I got an estimate and received a discount for getting it done the same day. I expected the price to be outrageous for the repair and I ended up spending $200 when other companies had quoted me $500+. It has been a month and still no leak yet!
