Canadian Moving And Storage Network No Longer In Business

I am new to country and had to move for work. This was first time I move, I was very nervous about this. I receive quote from Canadian Moving and called right away. I speak with Greg he very nice. Move was great. If you need mover call him at Canadian Movingsystems I will use again. I move from Winnipeg to Chicago.

I had to find movers at the last minute, as the company I had hired weeks before my move date cancelled on me at the last minute. I contacted all the companies that provided me quotes while I scrambled to find movers before my lease was up. I called and explained my desperate situation and couldn’t believe how quickly and easily they were able to accommodate me, they truly went above and beyond to make sure I wasn’t stranded!

I would like to thank Jill in Toronto for helping me facilitate my recent move to LA. I was very happy with the delivery and service I received from Sam and his drivers in Vancouver. I wrapped my shipment with the utmost care and everything arrived unscathed.
I would highly recommend Canadian Moving Systems. They are affordable and their rates are in Canadian dollars which is a huge saving for a cross-border move. I did my research.

I was very impressed at the customer service from this company, especially over the weekend. We had a mover booked for weeks and when they didnt show up on time as scheduled, we had to scramble and call someone at the last minute. Jill and Holly were the reps that I spoke to and were just amazing to deal with. When they said that they would call back, they actually did - which is very hard to find lately. The crew was great at pick up - and although a few items did get scratched I am still very happy with the overall result. They helped us avoid a very costly situation with the new buyers. If we didnt have a pick up on that weekend, I dont know what we would have done.

After having my stuff in a public storage for a few months in Winnipeg, I finally decided I would stay in Toronto and needed to get my stuff brought to me. I called around to so many places and they said they couldn’t help me unless I could be there, there was just no way I could afford the plane tickets and the move. On a last stitch effort, I went online one more time and started looking for more companies. Jill followed up with me within an hour with a quote, I jumped on the phone and got myself ready to hear the same thing, but they actually had a SOLUTION and an easy one at that, the extra 10 minutes of effort they took to hear me out and brainstorm resulted in me saving thousands of dollars on plan tickets and I finally got to have my stuff again. Awesome company!

Having obtained 3 quotes from Canadian Moving Systems Ltd. for my move from a 3-bedroom house in Alberta to Port Alberni, BC, I chose the mid-priced one. A 5-ton truck arrived with no identifying signage and of insufficient size for my move. A 10-ton truck three-quarters full came the next day to pick up the excess furnishings. Upon delivery boxes looked like they had been through a boxing match and their contents reflected same. They broke springs in a high-end Bolero mattress. The items picked up by a second truck were missing from July through November. Only due to intervention by Wawanesa Insurance did someone from CMS finally locate my furniture piled up in a corner of an Edmonton warehouse. When these items were finally delivered five months after my move date, the Antique French Provincial family heirlooms including the dining room table with six chairs and ladies' dresser were gouged. Losses and damages equated the cost of my move and were recovered through homeowner insurance. Unfortunately, the sentimental value destroyed cannot be recovered. CMS is merely a broker. Hiring one of the reputable known name moving companies is the only way to go so far as long distance moves are concerned. Lesson learned.

When I hired a professional moving company I expected them to do a better job of packing my household items than I could have done. Unfortunately that was not the case. Canadian Moving Systems packed my items very poorly. They used as many large boxes as possible & did not ensure that fragile items were wrapped. Many items were damaged in the move due to their carelessness. They did not wrap our artwork individually, so frames rubbed on other paintings, & in some cases stretched the canvasses. Some items would not fit into boxes, so they forced the boxes closed damaging items that way as well. When I tried to get the company to take responsibility for the damage that was caused, they said that they stand behind the work that was done. Packing paintings together without anything between them is their company's "Standard Procedure". Next time I will save myself the headache & considerable amount of money I paid, & do a better job myself!

Seriously! Do you? I've never seen movers more deliberately treat someone else's things so badly. Not only that, but my things arrived THREE WEEKS after the scheduled date. I'm convinced that every positive review on here is from the company themselves. They smashed my china. They broke my $7K Husqvarna Viking Diamond Deluxe Sewing machine, my husband's Artisan Leather machine (industrial) and just about everything else I owned was either scratched or broken. Their insurance paid me $100 for destroying almost everything I owned. It was not accidental because I watched the movers at my home handle my things with almost deliberate carelessness. It is now almost a year later and I'm still devastated. I warn you to PLEASE reconsider if you are thinking of using this company. My only hope is that perhaps I can prevent others from suffering the same fate I did.

From charging me more than double of what they first quoted me to most of my product damage. (Scratch’s on or dents on all of my furniture and a big hole on the back of my night stand) This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. The way they have dealt with me and my husband boils my blood. They show no concerns or understand or are willing to help you to get your product.

Everything was going okay, till the day of pick up. They show up and say they cannot take my entire product at once. They will schedule for a different day for my remaining product, which I was okay with. I had to deal with my landlord and ask for a favour to have an extra day for pick.

The second pick up, the guys come and says your furniture’s are too big we can’t take it out through the door. I live on the 17 flour obviously it will go through the door because there is no other way the sofa came in the fist time. Had a long conversation between the guys and the customer service department . It all came down to them saying they will charge me to remove the leg. Now to remove the leg all you need is screw, which my husband didn’t have. We had no choice but to let them charge us for something so little. The sofa is out the apartment door now. Its in front of the elevator. The pick up guys say the sofa is not gonna fit in the elevator. In order for the sofa to fit in the elevator they have to dissemble and for that we have to charge me. At this moment am speechless. I refused, they said they will leave my sofa there and drive away. I asked for all of my product back but Eva said they will charge me. My ill husband and one of the guy got the sofa in the elevator. With great regret my product was all taken.

The delivery day, they got all off my product in except the sofa. And they end up leaving it outside in the hallway. The guy’s left am sitting outside and calling around for help. My next-door neighbour saw me sitting there. He who is around 60 years of age or older helped me and my husband get the sofa in our home in less than 10 minutes.

Please be aware. If I only read the reviews. Angry and regret is what I gained from this company.
