Post reno cleaning and windows

We used enviropure home services in august for a post renovation cleaning and window replacement. We called them originally to get new windows put in our home and found out that they also do cleaning so we hired them to do the post reno clean up as well. First of all, we were very happy with the windows. They were sold to us at an amazing price, at cost and they were delivered on time and installed perfectly. We then contracted them to clean our house and they did a fantastic job. I would absolutely use this service again in the future. We were thrilled with everything and we love our windows.

Having our own line of windows and doors makes it easy to offer the best deals in town. our installers are exceptional, and have been in the business for over 25 years, so we have a bit of a advantage over the other guys. thanks for the great review

House cleaning

I highly recommend enviropure as a house cleaning service. Our family has used them for the last 3 years and we have never been more satisfied. Many of our friends use this service as well and have never been disappointed. They are very consistent and reliable, which makes them better than other services I have had in the past. Customer service is excellent as well. We have moved twice in the last few years and this company has kept us on board with the cleaning and they continue to make us feel like we are a priority customer.

Home Cleaning + Deep Appliance Cleaning

1) Stove: I had asked EnviroPure to do a deep appliance cleaning of my appliances before my new tenants moved in. After they finished the job I found the following:

1) Oven Glass Door had significant Greece stains on it—it was barely transparent anymore.

2&3) Oven floor and walls had Greece stains on it.

4) Door had not been wiped down.

5) Grill had not been wiped down.

6) Stove Top was not cleaned.

I took an oven cleaner and sprayed the inside and left it for 15 minutes, and then came back and wiped it down with a damp rag. This is what I would expect from a professional cleaner that I am paying $80/hour for. The results above were attained by purely off-the shelf household cleaners and a little bit of time and effort (25 mins). A service I expected from EnviroPure.

2) Kitchen Floor: After EnviroPure had apparently deep-cleaned my floors I still found dirt in the grout between the tiles. When I reported this to Tina and Richard, they insisted that the floor was cleaned 4 times, and that the only way to clean the dirt from the grout was to buy a more expensive Tile Cleaning/Acid treatment—which was not covered with their service. Therefore they didn’t clean it at all.

After using regular off-the shelf cleaning liquid and with a hard bristled brush, I was able to clean the grout dirt with just a few strokes---contrary to EnviroPure’s assessment for the need for Acid Cleaning. If I wanted a light mopping of the stone tile floors, I would of done it myself. I hired professional cleaners to get on their hands or knees (or use some industrial mopping equipment) and scrub the floor. I did it myself in less then 30 mins.
3) Appliance Pull-Out/Inside & Outside Cleaning: On the invoice I received it said that they had charged me for inside, under and outside deep-cleaning of my appliances. I showed you the pictures above of the stove. But also when I moved the fridge and the Washer Dryer and the Dishwasher I saw that the appliances had NOT been pulled out, and the floor underneath them were not cleaned as I was told would happen. a) Beneath the fridge was NOT cleaned; b) Dishwasher was NOT cleaned as there was still debris sitting at the base of the dishwasher.
3)Floor beneath the washing machine was not cleaned (even the floor beside the washing machine). Basically I was charged for a Deep- Appliance Clean---that quite frankly didn’t happen.
4) Basement Clean UP. I didn’t take pictures of this because I didn’t have the time frankly as I had to scramble to clean the place up after professional cleaners have apparently spent 10 hours cleaning the place. But I was told that my basement would be vacuumed, and it was not. It was swept, with piles of dirt still not picked up. I was told after the fact that they couldn’t vacuum the basement because they couldn't find a plug point. Although the plug point was on the electrical panel (which it is required to be by building code in all houses), and in fact if they closed the electrical panel they would of seen it, as it was directly above a pile of dirt that they had left there. Even if they couldn’t find it, I would of expected them to call me to inquire where the plug point is so that they can finish their job.

5) Dealing with the EnviroPure Management:

a. EnviroPure cleaners worked in the house from 1:30-5:45pm on Saturday June 28, 2014. Approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. Tina had texted me at approximately 5:45pm on Saturday to inform me that the girls had finished—and I had spoken to Tina at 1:30 prior to commencement of the work to confirm the hours. I even went on site to ensure that I answered any questions that the cleaners may have had. So I was expecting to have a professionally cleaned house, with roughly 4 hours of work paid at $40/hour. $160 + Tax= Approximately $200.

b. After informing Tina of these unfinished job, she immediately defended the work of the cleaners first without even coming to look into the place. She then proceeded to tell me that the bill for the work would be $452, for 10 hours of work for two cleaners at $40/MAN HOUR each. From my conversations with Dean and Tina, I believed that I was paying $40/hour for both cleaners. Although Dean had told me that it would require 10 hours of work---I informed Tina that I just wanted the basement and the kitchen done professionally, so that if it exceeded 5 hours of work that she should call me before proceeding further. I never got such a call.

c. I expressed surprise that they were charging me for $10 hours of work @ $40/MAN HOUR. Especially when I saw that the work was not done to professional standards. Tina referred me to Richard Sticklee, who I assumed was her supervisor or owner of the business. Who also insisted that the cleaning had been done. Mr. Sticklee said he would come and clean the floor in the basement as per planned but insisted that I needed to get acid washing done on the floors to clean it. He went on to say that the house was in a “disgusting” condition, and that the cleaners had done everything that is humanly possible without extra cleaning equipment and measures. He then offered to come to the house with the maids who did the work and see where the house had not been cleaned. I took him up on that offer as I wanted to show him all of these areas that had not been cleaned professionally.

d. Richard Sticklee refused to accept that there were these unfinished work. In the morning he called me and told me he had listened to both my messages and did not agree that I was telling the truth, and that his cleaners did what they all they professionally could. That the house was not cleanable, and that it was in disgusting shape. He said that Dean (the carpet cleaner) had told him that I was difficult to deal with, and that the only reason why I wanted him to come is to show him a bunch of small things that were not done, and that I had a problem with the PRICE, and that I would make many excuses to not pay the price. He then said he didn’t want my money. That the job would be complimentary. And he told me to clean the rest of the house myself. This put me in an unusual predicament as I had tenants coming in the morning, and he had told me he would come and clean the basement and other areas in the morning. So I had to take a day off work and clean the house myself prior to the tenants moving in.

e. Richard Sticklee sent me a text message saying that he apologized for hanging up on me earlier, but gets “ANNOYED when people accuse his girls of cutting corners when they didn’t” . He said that he paid them a flat rate to do the house, and they would much rather be home with their families (which was apparent from the work). He went on to say that they worked really hard, and went above and beyond for me, and that they know Enviropure’s expectations. And that the house was very very dirty, and that they had to scrape some nasty stuff. He then went on to say that if you want to pay the $200 that I originally expected to pay, he would accept it, even though he knows that Dean and Tina both told me it would be $400. He then ended the comment saying “We do great work, and did so at your house”.

f. He then called a bit later and said he was calling to apologize for the way that he spoke to me. I told him at that point that I would only pay for what I thought was fair given my understanding of $40/hour, for 5 hours. And that all I wanted was for him to come see the place for himself. He refused to come onsite to see what I had to say.

End of experience.

Company Response

This review is very odd, and though we strive to be perfect in every clean, this one was different. I cannot agree with the clients perception of events, however, I do know there was some confusion as to what needed to be done to clean this home. The girls were asked to move heavy stone and tile in the basement which had never been discussed, and the home was in very very poor condition. We were led to believe that it wasn't very bad, and a Price range was given. This was a referral from another company who also had some issues with this client. When it came time to pay the bill, then the client decided he wasn't happy. Since we have a policy that says if you aren't happy, and we can't make you happy, you don't pay, i decided not to take any money at all from this client. His comments about our girls were rude and almost vulgar, so i decided it best to part company and take the financial loss. We wish him well in the future, and hold no hard feelings toward him. It was a great learning experience for us and we always want to do better

basic clean

Very poor job, large dust bunnies and hair balls left behind. When I called to complain the company did not return my call. When I called again, the customer service rep was very rude and insisted if I wanted anything done I should have contacted them early. She didn't explain why she never returned my call in the first place. She offered no solutions or compromises on how to rectify the situation. No professionalism, eventually hung up on me.
Worst experience I have ever had with a cleaning company. I couldn't even tell anyone had been there to clean.

Carpet cleaning

Servie attitude was ok, and the cleaning started well but they were very quick to end the job without cleaning our stairs and main hallway, the dirtiest and most visible part of our house. I would recommend that customers watch the work being done to ensure they clean all of the areas which have been paid for.
