Perfect Renovations Group

I would highly recommend Perfect Renovations Group. Prior to the job their follow up was excellent, actual job the painters were professional and end result was an excellent job. Price was fair and painters completed job on time.

They tell a great story until they start taking your money. We were assigned a project manager, who then quit the company and we were not informed and a new project manager was not assigned. After weeks of e-mails, text messages and leaving voicemails, we found out a week before our project was scheduled to start that he was gone and that none of the trades had been scheduled. It also seemed that he had left without leaving notes or instructions for anyone in the company, or otherwise that no one at the company took the time to inform themselves, so we essentially had to repeat ourselves over and over to one person after another. Our project went well beyond the projected timeline - costing us extra time off work, and meaning that we lived in a construction zone with our toddler. The trades who were sent did not know what they were to do, did not have the requisite tools or supplies, sometimes did not show up at all, were scheduled in the wrong order so frequently had to come back repeatedly to actual do their work. Additionally, when it came to invoicing, they were unable or unwilling to provide any supporting documents to explain the charges from places like Home Depot. Ultimately, their services are FAR from perfect in spite of the name.

I needed to add crown moulding to to existing areas in my living room and dining room. It was a difficult and intricate job. I found Perfect Renovations Group on HomeStars and can attest to the professionalism and quality of their work. From the first time we met Kevin, the manager, we knew we were in good hands. Kris and Mike completed the job to our complete satisfaction! They were knowledgeable, respectful, and professional. This company has a strong work ethic. We would not hesitate to call Perfect Renovations Group again!

I was looking for a company to do large renovations in our newly bought house but the works had to start within one months and be done 2 months later. Frank from Perfect Renovations Group was very prompt to do the quote and was thorough in this process. The work was done on a timely manner. It was our first renovations ever and we had also to learn how to deal with all the inevitable issues that occur when you open walls. Frank did a great follow-up and always kept us in the loop. He dealt very efficiently with our "asbestos crisis", which delayed the work, even though no asbestos was found upon testing. The last Handy man, Kristaq Koka was exceptional and the quality of his work was outstanding. The only issues I would mention is that the plan of our new kitchen was not followed precisely, which created a few issues. One side of the kitchen is really nice, the other one does not look good at all. So make sure that you use one of their designers so they will not claim the fault on your designer. There still are some problems with the kitchen, which annoys me but they are relatively minors. Altogether, I have been satisfied for their service and I would recommend them in the future. Therefore my high mark: 10/11 :)

I initially resisted a score of 0 only to reflect the fact that the quality of the paint job was done professionally. However, a big call out in my view and something to be very very cautious about is how this company quotes the work. When I called them and answered all kinds of questions about my house incl Sq footage, # of bedrooms I was given a price. However, after 5 days of painting they called me and said, since they were not done we can just pull the painter out and leave me with the rest or you will have to pay more money?. A 3 bedroom, 1800 sq ft house - only the walls, no trim or baseboards and they wanted another 2 full days?? They claimed the painter had to wash his brushes more because of a few feature walls and that's why it took so long?? Then they claimed that because we took advantage of a promotion THEY had that included paint that even though their 'estimate' wasn't worth much I was still getting a good price - what they cant seem to understand is, its not the price they gave me? - its not what I, in good faith agreed to and its just not right - they will likely post some colorful response of how they only estimate and that if I read some extra small fine print they specify this or some other half cocked response..all i'm saying is.. watch out, I wouldn't use them again and I wouldn't recommend them. I updated my review to a score 0 from a score of 2 as a result of the contact this company had with me after my initial post. This is the truthful and factual conversation:

'Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I have a significant schedule at times.

It seems your unhappy with what you paid to my company for the service your agreed to.
Please let me know how much of credit you expect and I look in to providing you a mutually agreeable credit.'

ME:
In the interest of putting this to rest, I would consider splitting the difference between the price I received on the phone and what I ended up having to pay. That would work out to $350 each.

That doesn't include the cost of the extra paint I had to buy when according to the promotion I should have gotten two free gallons for each of the extra two days. I had to pay for all of them.

Without comment. - I wasn't about to change it to something positive?

After no response, I followed up and was given a lengthy reply that the rep I dealt with 72 and I hurt her feelings by saying I felt this seemed 'shady'. I was further advised that their price was still cheaper. yadda, yadda.. What they just cant seem to understand is - It's not the price they provided. Again, if this is how they operate..Be transparent! Even if they stand by their claim that its only an estimate, it was off by 25% lol.. they should just call it a wild guesstimate?

Lastly, I should also note that they later charged my credit card for additional money after I made this post. The total has changed 3x now. The initial estimate guess was $2994..they managed to get it to over $3900..enough said.

We hired the Perfect Renovations Group to drywall, tape and mud our kitchen ceiling and two walls during a kitchen renovation. Even though the job was relatively small, Kevin and his team were professional, punctual, and friendly. Kevin was always quick to reply to my emails and made sure that the job got completed on time. Thanks to Jeff and his team for their fine work. We would certainly use Perfect Renovations Group for future home renovation projects. FYI - I contacted a few drywall companies through HomeStar and the Perfect Renovation Group was the only company to reply and schedule a time to prepare an estimate.

I hired Perfect Renovations Group to do a full upgrade of a condominium sales centre. I was put in contact with Kevin and his team and they were fantastic! They completed everything we discussed on time and on budget. Kevin was a pleasure to deal with and was extremely helpful and professional throughout the whole job. His team did great work and I will definitely be calling them for our next job.
