Paid 250 plus tax but did not identify or resolve problem with fridge. Ice maker which worked perfectly before suddenly stopped working after re-assembly. Service man came back and got ice maker working again, but after all that nothing was fixed and it cost me 250 plus tax.

Dishwasher repair: My 2 year old son sat on the door, breaking a washer in the door.

When the repair person came, he insisted it was an installation error and left telling me to contact them if it didn't work.

I emailed within 12 hours, and over subsequent months. They would not come unless I paid for another service call (even though the first call did nothing).

Definitely DO NOT call them: they are rude, not useful and unprofessional.

Do not hire this company. I called an appliance company who sub-contracted to FC Universal. I paid $75 for nothing. I had a problem with soap dispenser on washer where detergent and water wasn't emptying. Technician took machine apart and couldn't find a problem and then he proceeded to check You Tube for a solution. He then told me it must be the little cup in the dispenser unit that needs replacing. I asked if he thought it might have anything to do with washer not being level and he didn't so. So I ordered a replacement cup. Of course I had the exact same problem. I realized the water wasn't siphoning out of the cup so I tried raising the front of the front of the washer slightly so that the water would siphon and Voila! Fixed! What a waste of time and money it was calling this company.

If your looking for a repair company who actually takes pride in their work and their customer service - this is not the place for you!!! Not only do they promise a 75 dollar fee for a estimate -the visit will take 20 mins and You will get charge around 226. And when questioned as to why, they will give you the run around. The amount of excuses is we received is rediuclus . When we you call to discuss your issues and concerns you get a lady who interrupts you time you try to speak.- when you ask to speak to their manager( who is never presented at even normal business hours) you get told he'll call you back.... now when the manager( who is the rudest man I have ever deault) calls you back he also interrupts and doesn't really care what you have to say or even try to fix it. And at on point will even say " do I need to speak slower for you to understand" ..if I wasn't mad before that comment that set me over the edge. I'm glad we are only out this amount, and every person I speak to will be hearing about this experience. Thank you FC universal ltd for the worst experience and customer service I have ever deault with !

Do not hire these people. They charged me $75 to tell me my washer machine was broken. I had Whirlpool Canada the company of my washer come to look at the machine and there was a sock in it. I did not need a new washer machine and all it needed was a simple repair. If YOU LIVE IN DURHAM DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY

Called North York Appliance and apparently they subcontract to FC Universal Ltd. We had a dishwasher in a commercial space that wasn't draining. Technician came and said the drain was clogged with food remnants. He then charged $350 to unplug the drain. Less than a week later, the dishwasher stopped draining again. I called the company back and they advised that the service call would be free since they have a 30 day labour warranty. They came, told me the dishwasher drain was clogged again. I'm off site so I asked them to go ahead and clean it. They then sent me a bill for another $350. I called and spoke to the manager as the second visit should have been free. He yelled at me over the phone and said that we must have been throwing garbage in our dishwasher...uh yeah sure buddy. These people are terrible to deal with and obviously very shady. DO NOT use them

Never use this company, horrible. Called company for dishwasher not drying correctly. Company noted as "Dishwasher not draining properly". I do not know where he got this information from as if it wasn't draining properly, then there would be a large amount of water at the bottom which there was not. They sent a "so called" technician who opened the dishwasher and basically said "Its dirty and needs to be cleaned". Note to the company, the dirt was not food items it was a dirty film from the water not drying properly and parts of mold. He did not even look at the bottom of the washer where the drain is as he would have found the large swollen part on the heat element. At the time when the Tech was there we said to him "I do not think its a draining issue, its a drying issue" but that was ignored. Called to explain to them what happened and they blamed us and said our problem. They wouldn't even work with the situation, all I was looking for was them not to charge us for a second service call.
They wanted additional $200 to clean. I cleaned it my self and found the heat element right away.

The temperature in our oven wasn't accurate. Nov 28, 2016 A arrived and surmised the control board needed to be replaced and would take a couple of weeks to come in. At that time we paid him $345 for the part and $250 for labour. On Dec. 16, he replaced the part and charged us another $250 labour charge. Soon after the temperature again was fluctuating (would either be lower or higher than what we punched in). We thought perhaps it was the sensor. We ordered the part and changed it ourselves and that did not resolve the problem. We made numerous calls for them to correct their errors and none were returned. Finally, we took the oven out ourselves and with the help of youtube figured it must be the oven element. Yes, the element was destroyed and now we will order the part ourselves (another $250) and instal it. You hire "professionals" and end up paying $700 for nothing! We are so angry. A perfectly good part was replaced and now is in the landfill (or manybe someone else's oven!). The new part which we are ordering costs $250. Do not hire this company. I think they should have figured this problem out since we were able to figure it out ourselves and have no background in oven repairs.

I received horrible service. Not only they charged me 180 dollars for nothing. As the technician was finishing the job he "predicted" that I may need to change my thermostat (which would have entailed additional 240 dollars), but that he fixed the broken connection for the time being and it should be ok. The fridge did not work at all. Basically, I would have been better off having the part installed right away rather than getting my thermostat "cleaned" for 180 bucks. After I called the company to tell them that my fridge still was not working, they scheduled the technician to come back in 2 days. Only to call me in 2 days to tell me he is sick. They proceeded to cancel three other appointments. Eventually, I got fed up and called another company. THe other company immediately told me that i had to replace the thermostat and told me the part would cost only 180 dollars, and not 240. All in all, dealing with FCUniversal was an awful experience. Clients beware.

This company was subcontracted by East York Appliance Repair to repair my GE Dishwasher. The technician was very polite and seemed to know what he was doing. He told me that my dishwasher was not working and that It would cost me close to 500.00 to repair. I declined his recommendation. I bought a new dishwasher and decided to remove the old one and install the new one myself when it was delivered. When disconnecting the old unit I found that the main power connection to the dishwasher had shorted out. I did the repair in 30 seconds and cancelled the new dishwasher.
