Direct Energy called proactively to arrange my annual furnace maintenance and inspection as part of the Heating protection plan we pay for. They allowed me to select the date and select a 4 hour time window for the maintenance to be carried out. Service technician came during this scheduled window, put protective covers/slippers over his footware as he came into our house to complete the maintenance. Afterwards he reviewed the work, the findings, provided some answers to some questions that I had. Quick, efficient, polite and quite quite. I was pleased with the service, his advice and answers to my questions. I would recommend the benefits of the annual inspection and heating protection plan for older furnaces like the one we have.

Annual service through Direct Energy service agreement. No cash to outlay for this visit. I also have the plumbing insurance through Direct Energy which came in use a couple of weeks ago when the glass lining to the water heater burst and we needed a new water heater. The response was very quick and work completed within a few hours.

Technician came onsite reviewed water tank condition and furnace , told us about things to be careful about as new home owners and it was great help. Told us about having at least 1 CO2 and 1 skome alarm per floor. Just lots of advice

I have always received good service from Direct Energy from the time of booking to the actual work done. The service technicians are always very friendly and knowledgeable and good at answering any questions I have asked them. My only complaint is the 4 hour time frame given to us for this service. Two hours should be long enough.

Presently have a cold shut off valve above water heater tank on pipe. I Thought there should be a hot shut off valve for the other pipe that goes to tank. Technician told me no need for a hot shut off valve. If there was ever a leak he told me to turn off the one valve on pipe just above the tank. Then he proceeded to do a safety check on the tank. While there technician noticed my 26 year old furnace and we talked about not only how inefficient it is but with age is a safety concern regarding carbon monoxide. Technician asked if I wanted someone to come in from the company to talk to me about a new furnace (free estimate), of all the options. I agreed so while at my house he got a representative on the phone for me to make an appointment. She was great explaining how long the appointment would approximately take and we booked appointment. Great thorough and friendly service. I will let you know how I make out with my new furnace and my experience with that.

My furnace from Direct Energy broke down in the middle of the night during winter a few years ago. I called them in the morning, and was told that someone would come to my house with a temporary heater to use until the furnace could be repaired/replaced. I waited for the entire day, and still no one came to deliver the heater. The house was unbearably cold as it was winter at the time so I had to send my kids to the neighbour's house so they could be warm. I waited until night and no one from Direct energy came. Finally I gave up waiting and called a company I found in the yellowpages, and they came and replaced my furnace within a few hours. If this had happened in the summer it would not have been a big deal, but to be made to wait without any heat in winter is completely unacceptable.

Had home protection plan on my furnace, good thing, needed a new motor, fixed same day, cost me nothing!!!! protection plan was well worth it, plus they will check my furnace every year...gives me peace of mine.

Switched from rental tank to rental tankless on thier recomendations. They added charges for servicec "not incuded" such as piping. Did not provide any details on rebates that were available. so I missed out on all government rebates.
Salesman went on vacation after makeing the sale and could not be contacted. I had leaks in my washroom above the furnace room due to their work and had to repair it myself as Dirct energy would not return to fix the damage EVEN THOUGH I'm on their Total Home Protection Plan. Technician too went on vacation after work and could not be contacted by the manager to get the details of the damage caused by them. And if all this wasn't enough, they jacked up the monthly rental price by $3 after a couple of months. OVERALL a bad experience.

We had both of our washroom toilets go haywire after 20-25years, and we bought some eco friendly toilets. Since we're direct energy clients for the fireplace we gave them a call to see if they could install the toilets for us and such. It costed 200$ to do both. They came to our house informed us of the time they would arrive within 1 hour which was greatly appreciated and installed the toilets for us. The service was great and that was about a year ago with no problems since. We've been very satisfied.

The experience was exceptional, from the phone call, scheduling the work in quick time and the work done. The whole process was all over in a matter of a about 4 hours! I have never had such an easy and fast repair job done in my entire life and I am over 65!
