Kitchen and bathroom disaster.

If you are looking for poor quality and half finished work this is the company to hire. If you are looking for someone who is defensive and makes excuses when you tell them that the work is not up to standard or incomplete, then John is your man. When you tell him that his work is no good and that he has to come back and fix it, he calls you rude and abusive. he uses this tactic because he doesn't want to come back and finish the job.
I could only post a few photos ? This is my 2nd time posting this review. John contacted Homestars and told them he didn't do this work. So maybe he should give me my $25000.00 back. I've posted receipts so everyone can see. Just another examp,e of John's none truths. However I will do another review and post the rest of them. The first photo is of my
new drywall. It is concave and needs replacing. Also the plaster has not been sanded but has been sanded over. when I told John about this he stated " we always paint over the plaster before we sand it "
Wow. Unbelievable. Anyway I'm not going into detail about every picture. I can tell you that my contract said that all work was going to be done by the designated trade. this did not happen. I have a
window frame that doesn't join at the corner joints and was filled in
with caulking and not a neat job. It was done by a kid. The paint job in the kitchen is peeling in most spots and the underneath colour is
showing through in the parts where it is not peeling. Very cheap
paint. The contract states that the paint will be Benjamin Moore
Kitchen and bath. He used dulux in the kitchen and bathroom.
My back garden was used as a dumping ground for grout and plaster. This is just one example of john not respecting personal property. I have foot prints in my hallway that will not come off. My floor is ruined. My railings outside on my porch where the tile was
being cut, where black before John got there. Ive tried to clean them with the power washer but the white stain off the tile cutting machine will not come off. Along with my mat that they couldn't be
bothered to pick up . I have to get the railings painted and replace the mat. It seems i'm always cleaning up after these guys.
My grout on the kitchen floor has grout missing in lots of places. 1/4 round is missing and the piece of threshold that was put in has come off. He didn't bother putting anything by the kitchen door. Just left it ugly and bare.
The back splash in the kitchen has tiles protruding and in one spot it has an inch of mud behind it and it looks amateur and ugly. You can see that in pic #4
The tiler took off one my valances from my cupboards and instead of cutting it to size to fit because of the backsplash and putting it
back. he hid it in my spice cupboard. Which was found a couple of weeks later. Fixtures that John took down from my old bathroom that where to be used in my new bathroom went missing. I bought brushed nickel for accessaries for my bathroom, and just like it said in the contract John would supply moen fixture for the shower. He put in an ugly chrome shower handle and plate. he seems he just didn't care. The taps leak and the new ceiling in the bathroom got scraped and damaged when putting the shower glass in. The shower glass didn't come for another 2 weeks. John said he would put something together so we would be able to shower in the meantime. That didn't happen either. In fact the glass came when I was on vacation. I gave john permission to go and let the glass installers in. it seems he took pictures from a distance of my bathroom and posted them on social media. so everyone got to see my bathroom before I did. It's a pity he didn't take close ups. So people could see the truth.
I could go on and on. A word of warning buyer beware. I gave this company Renovate Plus $25,000. I only held back $2,000.
The cost to finish the work and paint job, and the damage that he done is about $5,000. Be cautious of the TOUCH UP word.
This job started on march 8th it was supposed to be done in 10 days tops. it is now June 10th. What a nightmare.
I will post more pics shortly.

Complete Bathroom Reno + Home Office Facelist and Walk-in Closet

From the demo to the smallest final detail John at Renovate Plus was able to put together the ideas of two homeowners with difficult/very different work schedules. He is always a step ahead and with just a few words from us as to our wants, needs, and wishes he delivered a finished product that turned out better than we could have imagined. Although we knew he had other clients (the best contractors always have more than one on the go) we felt as though we were the only ones. He was in constant communication with us and a real partnership and genuine trust were installed within the first day. The work was done quickly and efficiently and we came home every day to a clean house with very little disturbance. We have stopped counting the many reasons why there is the word Plus in the company name. With John and his team (because he only employs the best in each field) you really get more than a renovation, you get a stress-free experience from beginning to end. Next, on to the kitchen!

Kitchen and living room pot lights installation and misc electrical

John, from Renovate Plus, just recently installed some needed pot lights and two pendant lights in our kitchen as well as more pot lights in our living room. Before installing anything, he informed and educated us on the process of the installation in terms of the hardware recommendations, preparation and installation. The lights were installed in perfect placement, on time, and with a fantastic clean up in the end too! We're very happy with the results and would not hesitate to use Renovate Plus for future work in our home and will certainly recommend John to our family and friends.

Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation

I found John through his Kijiji Ad earlier this year when I was looking for someone to do a major kitchen and bathroom renovation in my brother's condo. My brother, who is 61 years old, has a disability and he is dependent on family members to look out for his best interests. His condo was in desperate need of repairs. Both the kitchen and bathroom needed to be gutted and rebuilt. I spoke with other contractors, but I was hesitant. I needed someone who was properly licensed and insured, easy to communicate with and who could help to coordinate everything since I don't live there. After speaking with John and then meeting him, I felt so relieved. He is professional and reliable and he takes pride in his work. He was very kind, patient and respectful in listening to my brother, answering his questions and making him feel comfortable. John was committed to ensuring that my brother received the best possible value. He completely transformed the kitchen and bathroom which were literally falling apart, and turned them into beautiful, functional spaces. He modified the original design of the kitchen to make better use of the space and added extra lighting to make it brighter. In the bathroom, he installed a lovely surround tub with a safety bar and glass doors for easy maintenance. I really appreciate that John worked with us to manage our budget and he did not compromise quality. His attention to detail exceeded our expectations. My brother can enjoy his condo again! We are extremely thankful for John's efforts and would not hesitate to recommend his services.

Kitchen and Bathroom renovation

This involved the replacement of cupboard doors, drawers, countertops and kitchen sink and a sink and vanity in the bathroom. The contractor took detailed measurements beforehand, had the materials precut and did the reno in two and a half days, leaving our home clean and back to normal the third day. Our neighbours did not believe such a beautiful job could be done so quickly and neatly but it was.

Electrical issue

I was referred to John from a friend and upon initial trouble shooting call with him felt very confident in his knowledge and professionalism. My husband is a trade and was confident in leaving our rental in his hands. We had a few lights dimming and then receptacles that were not working. He was able to schedule to fix it quickly, showed up on time and completed the job within the perimeters agreed upon (he was going to touch base if it got over budget). He called to follow up and explain what he had done as well as a check on other areas to make sure the unit was safe for our tenants. Our tenants also notified me to say they were pleased with him and his apprentice while in the unit and the issues were solved. I will keep his contact handy should we need an electrician again!

Kitchen Renovation

We contacted John after seeing some work he had done for a friend. From the beginning, we had a very positive experience working with John and his team. We found him to be helpful, reasonable and totally professional. He listened carefully to our ideas and concerns, and gave us good suggestions. When there was a small glitch in the project, John handled it immediately and with no fuss. The entire kitchen renovation was done within the budget we had agreed on
and (perhaps more remarkably!) within the time frame he had given us.
It was a pleasure to work with him, and the new kitchen turned out even better than we had imagined.
Thanks, John, for a great job.

Ceiling Fixture

John was a pleasure to deal with. He installed a ceiling fan and a new electrical outlet in a bedroom. He patched up the holes in the wall and ceiling and he cleaned up after himself. He also replaced our front porch light with a new one. I would recommend his services and would hire again.

Bedroom and Dining Room Lighting

John and Alex did a great job installing two bedroom ceiling lights and replacing a chandelier in the dining room. They were both professional, tidy and worked hard to make sure that the job was done right. They also provided great customer services. After I realized there was a manufacturing problem with one of the fixtures, John was flexible about coming back on another day after I had exchanged it to reinstall the new fixture.
