Our basement underpinning project was completed on time, on budget and to a very high standard. When unforeseen challenges arose, Mark was completely unflappable. Working with Mark and his team was a dream from start to finish. Of all the companies we met with, his proposal was the most thorough, and throughout our project he quickly problem solved any issues that arose. Our house had very old foundation (1888!), and his team delicately and competently poured each new concrete footing by hand, and also divided each wall into further sections than required, in order to create the most stable support for our house.

When our finishing contractors arrived, they said it was the cleanest underpin job they had ever seen, and Mark's commitment to excellence made their job so much easier. We would not hesitate to recommend Mark and New Depths to anyone looking for an underpinning job!

We hired New Depths to underpin our basement including installing piping for infloor heating and enlarging a window and constructing a concrete window well for the new window. We were very happy with the work and everything was done on time and on budget. The team kept everything tidy and communicated well with us and our neighbours too (as we have a shared driveway).

We had New Depths underpinning flyers since 2017. In 2020, We decided to digging our basement, we gave him a call, he was so nice and patient to explain what need to do and what need to keep eye on it. Because we didn’t know anything about our basement construction. He spent time and step by step to tell us what his job and suggesting。 He gave us a very detail quote. After what, we called others companies and got their quotes, no one showed us that details quote and reasonable. After construction started, we had good communicate. We knew what he was doing this week and next week. We did not even to ask. His team is so professional and trustworthy. Every day before the team finishing, they cleaned the basement and sidewalk and make sure all work place is tide and clean.
Our house is over 100years, he spends time to help us to replace beams and fixed the wall in basement. We are so appreciated Mark and his team, if possible, we would like to give them 6 stars.

New Depths helped us plan and design a basement underpinning job including deep excavation, new drains, basement walkout, and radiant flooring install. Great time and care was taken to make sure we understood the process and the options. They handled all the applicable permits and helped us avoid extraneous city fees. They also helped line up estimates for other services such as drain lowering. We eventually decided to change course and sell our home rather than proceed with the plan. Regardless, New Depth's professionalism shone through. They showed us genuine understanding and even reimbursed the unallocated portion of the deposit.

Mark recently completed our basement waterproofing project, including overseeing the finishing work. It was an excellent experience, very professional from start to finish. The quote was clear and detailed, Mark provided regular ongoing work updates and fast, efficient problem solving for unexpected circumstances. The workspace was kept tidy and safe. The finishing work was also excellent and completed to our specifications. We are very pleased with the end result and highly recommend New Depths.

This company and it's owner, Mark are super awesome! I bought a 90 year old house midtown Toronto last year and decided to underpin the 6 ft. high basement to gain more livable space. Got my drawings and permits and started to look for a contractor. Got a few quotes but only Mark invested the time in understanding the full scope and provided details around the separate entrance and new windows that I wanted.
Mikael(the team lead working on my site) and his team are extremely friendly and respectful. They kept the site as clean as possible. All my neighbors were impressed with the cleanliness and care the team exercised throughout the project.
They kept on working during the COVID-19 shutdown (in compliance with govt directive of-course!) since the work involved foundation.
Mark kept us fully updated on all progress & challenges and gave ample notice for any plumbing shutdowns.
The foundation had couple of large cracks (hidden behind insulation) that they found after start of the project but Mark didn't make it a big deal or ask for more money. They took extra effort and great care to work around those cracks.
It was a high $ value project and we were really worried about how it will go. I hate it when a contractor tries to charge more for every excuse after they start work. With Mark, we got NO stress. It was all smooth and at no point did I have any complaints at all. I have experienced more stress dealing with contractors on a 2 day, $3000 project then on this project many times bigger.
