Warranty customer service really awful

service is great when you are getting the windows and doors installed but once that is done you can kiss customer service good bye and welcome headaches and extremely poor customer service.

we had issues with our front door 1. the window framing was warping and that took 5 months to get that dealt with. 2. Now the bottom window cracked from the cold and it has been 3 months. Every single time they push it off to manufactures. I didn't buy the door from the manufacturers I bought the doors from Canadian choice windows and doors. They do not keep customers informed and you have to call many times to get service on warranty they provide yet it is always the manufacturers fault never theirs. Always a problem with the manufacturers they they even gave me the manufacturers number to contact them myself. Like "OMG Shrug", they literally can not do their jobs and will brush it off to another company. How is that customer service and why are customers even going through this company when you can most likely buy directly from the manufacturers and pay less by dropping the middle man which is Canadian choice

Oh and do not even talk a little loud ( I am deaf in one ear and age is not helping the other ear) they will hang up on you acting all offended. No customer service what so ever. They only want texts from customers, so they do not actually have to deal with a customer. Texts are for the younger generations not us older generations where voice calls means both parties should be able to hear each other. But instead they make up offences just so they do not have to deal with customer issues.
Funny worst I said was the secretary's customer service was rude and she should not even be working there and Texting is for millennials (as it was the younger generations they tend to use texting he most. use older generations like the good old fashion voice conversation. but that just made them all offended. Not caring that I am offended that it is taking months to get warranty work done on a door and trying to get someone to actually deal with it instead of giving me excuses.

Worse company for after service ever. I would definitely not recommend them to family and friends. If you need any warranty work done expect months to go by without any feed back from them.
Would give no stars but had to give 1 just to write a review.
by the way this is the Edmonton, Alberta location. I can not speak for all the departments across Canada.

Still waiting on a screen and a proper window replacement.

Initial instalation was okay but the installers do not have much craftsmanship. They installed a window with an obvious defect (did they hope I wouldn't see it?) A big silicone smear on an interior piece of glass. Foam leaking from multiple obvious seems. Generally dirt windows. They also didn't have one of the screens for my bathroom window.
So I contacted the company and they made me a new glass unit to replace the defective one. The same installers came on OT and the finished product is no better in my opinion. There is chunks of cardboard from the packaging still adhered TO THE INSIDE GLASS PANEL. They just didn't take the time to take all the cardboard off! And they still didn't bring my screen. So I have been waiting a week and have had no answer to my second service call. I would not use this company again. I don't trust anything they have done as it is obvious their company policy is to "get away with what you can".

Window Replacement

I had 11 windows replaced on my old house by Canadian Choice Windows and couldn't be happier. The sales rep Alexey took his time to explain all aspects of the project in a friendly, non-aggressive manner. We discussed the product choices, installation procedure and timeline for the project. The installation team were both friendly and professional, and took obvious pride in the quality of their work. I highly recommend Canadian Choice Windows.

3 windows replacement

Proceeded with installation of three windows with the company based on positive reviews. While getting competitive quotes from other companies, went with Canadian Choice Windows and Doors due to good sales technique (by a person who apperantly is no longer with the company) + attractive no interest 12 months payment plan.

Negative points I would like to stress:

1. Two months past agreement/order I had to call company to find out if windows have arrived. Not a big deal - they were in Edmonton, scheduled an appointment. Good customer service, didn't make to big of a deal out of this..

2. Installers arrive, both speak language (not English) I happen to understand. Working from home I am listening to most foul language I could ever imagine. After an hour understanding I risk poor installation if anything, I do tell installers to please watch their language as I understand everything they say. Swearing stopped.

3. One of the windows is incorrect (type). I point it out - installer said they noticed and I will get a replacement window within a week or two. No apologies offered by installer or company. It's now over two weeks since installation - window has not been replaced

3. Quality of installation - never seen my house so dusty, dirty. Paint and dust on the floor, cupboards. Too over two day to clean on my own. Installers only swept and I was told they are not a cleaning company.

4. Casings are not painted, not same size as previous ones leaving me to now paint walls and casings. Very disappointed.

5. Finance agreement was to be signed upon the installers departure. I am not signing it since contract for not state it is 12 months interest free. Installer calls the office stating the will honor quote and it will be interst free for 12 months/ I am to sign.

6. Finance agreement comes in - interest free for 6 months only. I am told by financing company to call CW&D as they set it up incorrectly.

7. It is two weeks past installation. I have called CW&D four times now - left messages to receptionist (s) and was told smb will call me back. Person who quoted me is no longer with the company, overpromised me services, stated eornf finance terma.
Any sort of call back is clearly not happening and I am at my wits' end at this point leaving me with no choice but leaving most negative review on the quality of work, customer service, finance terms.

I am hoping there is a resolution to numerous issues tight away!

Very Poor Service

We were approached by a sales person/project manager late last winter and decided to replace all windows. The order arrived on time and the installers were capable and friendly. Three windows had the wrong glass, but mistakes happen, and they were replaced in a timely manner. But that’s where it went off the rails.
When the initial install happened, we were contacted within hours to sign the completion form even though three windows still needed replacing.
When those those windows were installed, the installers asked for payment even though we had confirmed multiple times that we were using Finance It.
The final cost on the contract was incorrect. I had to remind the salesperson of the cost changes. We were told the company would handle the Alberta energy rebate paperwork. Almost a year later, and after multiple emails asking about it and multiple resubmission of photos, we haven’t received our rebate yet (although the government has now approved it).
We had our windows open for the summer and when we tried to close them in September, our bay windows would not close. I emailed our project manager in September, twice since then and also left a message for the service department. We were eventually told we would have it fixed by the end of December but we have heard nothing. We finally used a broom handle to push our windows closed from the outside for the winter. One will not latch. There is water damage on our wall under the other. I reached the service department today. They have not been here or contacted me because “it is winter and too cold to work and Fort McMurray is too far to drive in the winter”. It has been five months since I requested service with no reply. Also, the salesperson/project manager sometimes takes weeks or months to reply. At no time did he explain frosted windows are not covered by the Alberta energy rebate until I contacted the rebate program and then asked him about it.
This has been a very poor and frustrating experience and I cannot recommend Canadian Choice Windows in any way.

Windows and patio doors

Alex was our project manager, he came out and discussed different options for our smaller space and provided a fair quote. He made a recommendation which we hadn't even thought of. We went from garden doors to sliding patio doors which has really opened up our kitchen! The installers were professional and friendly, they stayed late to finish the job, cleaned everything up and took away our old windows.
Excellent experience, from start to finish.
I highly recommend Canadian Choice Windows!
