Called several companies but got no response. These guys came to the rescue. If anyone is looking for tree removal or pruning I highly recommend these guys! Younger person running his own business, very knowledgeable and does a great job! From the takedown to the clean up - extremely satisfied!

After reading reviews for Man with an Axe, I decided to contact Colin to obtain a quote for pruning two different species of Maple trees in my backyard which I had been putting off. Colin is a delight, he is very knowledgeable and extremely professional and I had no hesitation in hiring him after he visited at my home to go over what work needed to be done. Colin and Paul showed up on time, worked diligently and carefully all day to complete the task, even going over and above what he needed to do, which I totally appreciated, and is very hard to come by now a days. Colin made sure that all the aspects of the removal was done to my satisfaction and the yard was left cleaned and all wood was removed. I had a medium-sized tree that was growing in my backyard and impacting the fence. Colin explained various options to me and provided reasonable quotes for all options. He came across as very knowledgeable about the type of tree and how he would go about removing it. He was very patient in answering all of my questions. On the agreed upon day he showed up on time and successfully removed the tree and all associated debris. I contacted Colin to have him out for a quote for some pruning that our birch tree desperately needed. Colin and I spoke on the phone and he agreed to come out that weekend. On his arrival, he gave a quote and was able to complete the project that day. Colin was completed within the given time frame and often checked in about my preference to keep or remove a branch. We had strong winds knock down a tree that fell in our front yard. We were able to have it cleaned up really quickly and our home isurance helped pay for it. It was an easy solution to our problem and we’ll work with Colin and the company again .

I wanted to keep the wood for firewood, since it was so dry. Colin said the service was called a cut and leave. I have got a dump trailer, so I just told them to load up all the twigs and stuff right up in the bucket where I’d haul it all off to Bancroft. He shaved off all the dumping fees from the tree. I think it probably saved my $400. There were two of them, Colin went up and everything went really quick. Must have took 5 hours. I hate to have a treeless backyard but that half that tree was dead

I thought I wanted to get 2 trees in our backyard completely removed as they were blocking too much of my sunlight. Thankfully Colin put some sense into me and advised instead to keep the trees and instead remove certain limbs and prune other areas, thus keeping more sunlight coming in, saving our trees, and also saving me a huge amount of money. I appreciate that Colin didn’t try to upsell me to the more expensive tree removal and instead recommended a more cost effective, environmentally conscious option - quite a rarety in this industry lately. A tree in my backyard needed to be cut as it was blocking too much sun for our home and partially covering that of our neighbours. Normally this would not be an issue but behind our home is actually a large apartment complex which already blocks out most of the sun with two homes on either side as well, all of which also made the job harder for the man with an axe crew. Colin and his crew did the job very well, on time and on budget. I was especially impressed with how clean, professional and pleasant the whole team was. My wife was very upset that we needed to cut a tree down but Colin told her about a new program they are running where they plant 5 new trees for every one they cut down - we really liked that and think it's a great sustainable business practice. Highly recommended.
