Factory Direct Appliance Service

Shortly after I logged on Homestars I got a call from factory direct appliance service, they had an opening and came right away. The tech had questioned me on the phone and brought the replacement part with him. He followed responsible Covid guidelines and fixed the problem promptly. He brought safety equipment do as not to damage the floor. He cleaned the machine and gave us good tips for regular maintenance. Great service!

My 20-year-old washer/dryer was due for some roller replacement, but I kept putting it off--until, in the midst of the pandemic, the washer also started having some drainage issues. You can't social distance at a laundromat, and no appliance stores are open right now, so I consulted Homestars. Factory Direct seemed both reliable and geographically advantageous, so Merv's was the first business we called on a Friday morning. I figured we'd be lucky if we could get it serviced in a week or two, but Merv came over about an hour later, swiftly diagnosed the problems and solutions, procured the parts over the weekend and came back to fix the thing the following Monday morning. Merv could not have been more courteous or professional, and he even Clorox-wiped everything (including the credit card machine) afterwards. Since I had two issues going it was a pricey repair, but under the circumstances it was worth every penny.

Dishwasher was in disrepair. Merv came the next day with necessary part and had it fixed in no time!

Fridge was gradually (over 4 days) getting less cold - decided on the morning of Easter to get some quotes (thinking we'd have to wait until Monday). Merv got back within 15 mins of the request going out to let us know he was not charging a premium rate for Easter Sunday, and was at our home in 2 hrs. Knew exactly what it likely was, did the diagnostics and he was right: the defrost timer/thermostat. He had the part with him and within another hour was completed.

He was prompt, really pleasant, incredibly conscientious (what with COVID lockdown and all) and took great care with everything.

Thank you Homestars for another great home maintenance project, and special thanks to Merv for taking pride in your work. We were very happy to have our fridge back up an running!
