Solar is more affordable than you think.

After some investigation my wife and I decided solar was worth the investment. Given our budget we felt the long term of fixed power rates were more manageable than variable increases year over year to our Power Bill.
With a 10KW system for our home, we are projected to pay $159 monthly for power and over the course of the year project to be entirely self sustaining.
Throughout the process, Polaron communicated well for a nationwide company, always keeping us informed of the next steps. I do think they could benefit from a regional account manager, who may be able to handle more region specific questions specifically around CGH grant and other timings etc.
Regardless, we are very happy with our installation, and they worked efficiently to get it done. Absolutely no regrets in our choice to go with Polaron.

Hi Nick, thank you for sharing your detailed experience! It’s great to hear that you and your wife found solar to be a smart, long-term investment and that Polaron’s communication kept you well-informed throughout the process. A regional account manager is a valuable suggestion that we're happy to have shared with the team. We agree that it could definitely enhance the customer experience, which is always one of our top priorities. We're glad you're happy with the installation and the efficient work from Polaron. Wishing you many years of energy independence and savings!

Roof Solar Installation

After a year of study and technical evaulation I decided to add solar power to my home .Being a senior on a budget I felt the long term of fixed power rates appealing as I expect the cost of Power to increase year to year. The stability of solar even with the cloudy days is worth the investment. I will also say that Polaron has been great to deal with and their technicians have been excellent workers.

Installation was good but sales person never told me everything I needed to know

They dont tell you if power outage even with solar you have no power and after your 15 year payment plan is up than you have to give them a lump some for the rest of it
Also if you sell your place like I did the new owner and myself called them after sending everything they wanted filled out to do the change and I NEVER GOT DONE AS THEY DID NOT KNOW WHERE ALL THE PAPER WORK WENT AND TRIED TO BLAME US AND SAID WE DID NOT SEND IT BUT WE HAD YHE POLRON REP ON THE PHONE AND HE WENT AND CHECKED AND TOLD US THEY RECEIVED IT BUT THEY STILL KEPT TAKING THE PAYMENT FROM MY ACCOUNT SO I HAD TO PAY ALMOST 20 every 3 months to put stop payment on them and fought with them for almost a year and I told them they will be dealing with my lawyer if they dont straighten this out now than got a call from a female rep and she sent everything to the new owner and I was with him and we filled it out again and sent it again for the 4 or 5 time and she finally got it switched over to the new owner but they manage red to get 2 payments out of my account for 84.16 each time so they cost me 168.32 on payments they took plus 4 payments of around 20.00 for stop payment which is another 80.00 so it cost me 248.32 which is BS and all because they do not know what they are doing when it comes to the paper work
STAY AWAY FROM POLRON SOLAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! We're sorry to hear about your experience. We understand selling your home can be a stressful process and we will always try our best to make the contract transfer to the new homeowner as smooth as possible. From our records, we were in communication with you last October when you sold your house. We requested that you send the necessary contract documents to the new homeowner and have them return the signed copy to us so we could complete the transfer. We did receive confirmation from you that the new homeowner sent the documents, however, upon review our team never received an email with the signed copy of the documents, despite multiple searches. We communicated these issues with you from November of last year to February of this year. We then requesting the new homeowner's contact so we could follow up with him directly and asked you to confirm which email address the documents were sent to as we still had not received anything. We received his contact email in late January and proceeded to directly send the new homeowner the contract documents. After not hearing back, we followed up again with them twice in February. Since then our team continued to attempt emailing and calling the new homeowner.

As we could not complete the contract transfer without the required documents, the contract and payment remained under your name. We do apologize for any stress caused, however there was nothing we could do until the contract could be officially transferred over to the new homeowner. Since the house was sold last October, we made numerous attempts to acquire the documents needed to complete the transfer. The new homeowner emailed our team July 2nd and we completed the transfer by July 3rd as soon as we got the signed documents. We sent over the remaining balance to the new homeowner and started his lease payments the following month.

Home Solar Installation

Polaron did eventually install the solar system, but the project as a whole was poorly managed, poorly communicated and stressful as a result.

They do not provide a dedicated contact/project manager, so you'll end up dealing with countless different contacts. Getting our system accurately quoted was a battle, as a random polaron person who had no idea about what you'd agreed to with someone else would put together some slightly off proposal for me to sign. Phone tag, emails would ensue.

Post installation support is unfortunately proving to be just as poor. I've been trying for two weeks to work with them to get the EMA device online. (It reports on the output of your solar, fills in cloud dashboard and accessible from app) They've just scheduled a call with me to resolve the EMA issue, so we'll see how that goes.

If I could do it again, I'd choose a different vendor/installer.

Update: Polaron reached out to ensure my system was up and running. The EMA issue was resolved. I still would absolutely not use them again, and would choose a different installer. Dealbreaker is: no single point of contact. The people I started working with dropped off the face of the planet part way through the setup. Unless they institute a project manager and single point of contact for the whole process, just walk away.

Good product, Horrible Service

The concept of 0% interest sounds great.
The sales team makes you feel all warm and fuzzy AND then drops you like a hot potato. Asking follow up questions were not answered, tracking down the sales guy was impossible, being mislead to and more, made the 0% not worth it.

Solar installation

Polaron did an exceptional job on my installation. From the engineering inspection in 2020 through to the final installation they were effective and helpful throughout and the ability to track the project's progress through their on-line customer portal made it easy to see the progress. The local installers and the engineer assigned to my project kept me up to date from start to finish. Polaron's customer portal continues to provide daily updates on production. Polaron continues with excellent customer service, responding to my queries within a reasonable time. I am now waiting for them to introduce their battery back up system.

Kept and didn't return initial fee

I'm so glad I didn't go with Polaron!! They have a perfect payment collection system! I started the project with Polaron and paid $642 for government approvals and the initial assessment. Due to personal reasons, I had to cancel the project, and they simply pocketed my money. The reason is that the "cooling" period passed, and there is neither a valid reason, such as the CGHG green grant funds being rejected... I wonder, what would they do with my free money? For sure, they would not get richer, but they definitely affect a family in distress, especially in these harsh economic times.

UPDATED: Their response in google only reaffirms their attitude towards doing business. It certainly removes the human aspect and, again, they didn't apply for my permits but still kept the money! I wasn't requesting any money spent on the property assessment, only what wasn't spent on the permitting. Do your own search, and you'll find many complaints about service not being attended to after installation.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience. We would like to clarify where the initial permit fee you provided is going. Although we understand you're not continuing with your project, Your permit fee is covering the cancellation fees for the work we already conducted on your project. Besides that amount, we did not request any more money for the process. The amount covers the cost of services that include your site visit and assessment report, which we completed. This amount and stage is outlined on the purchase agreement that was signed, which our specialists highlighted as well before we started working on your project. We always want our customers to be aware of any potential fees, as we understand this is a large project.

We'd also like to mention that the fee you paid for the energy assessment was not to Polaron. An initial energy audit is required to be conducted if you plan to apply for the federal loan. This needs to be done with an auditing company, which isn't a service we provide. The money for this goes directly to the auditing company. The site assessment that we conduct is a different visit for our technicians to survey your property and ensure it's ready for solar. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you

Good start, terrible follow through

Everything was great to start but now that my system is in and working. I have been trying to contact them for over a month now with nothing but an automated response. The system they installed isn't preforming as to the specs they said. I am suppose to have a 10.1KWh (25 panels, 405w each) system and on the sunniest days every panels never show over 350w (making it a 8.75KWh system)

Company Response

Hi! We're sorry to hear this and definitely understand the importance of quick responses, especially regarding questions about new systems. We want to hopefully clarify these production numbers to provide some peace of mind regarding your system.

The 10.1kW size shown in your proposal is referring to DC size. On the other hand, the production numbers you're seeing on your monitoring app and inverters are in AC size. It is very standard to have a bigger DC/AC ratio (around 1.25) in order to fully optimize your inverters for a longer period of time throughout the day. Your panels only work at maximum peak capacity for a short amount of time during the day. If panels and inverters were sized the same, your inverters would be under-utilized the rest of the day, which would mean less power. Having that bigger ratio allows your inverters to be working at capacity for a longer period of time and producing more energy during the mornings and evenings. Therefore, you are producing more power during the other times of day when the sun isn't at its peak.

Please rest assured this means the predicted kwh hours we provided on your initial proposal is still accurate. From our records it looks like the estimated yearly production amount is 11,295 kwh. Since your system was turned on in December, you've produced 7,192.32 kWh in less than 8 months. You are on track to meet these annual production projections by the one year mark of your system.

We hope that helps! Of course if you have anymore questions, please feel free to let us know
