I met Matt while he was working on my neighbour's porch, I had been looking for someone to do mine, so I approached him. I had a very specific and well-formed idea of what I wanted. It was a small project, but I wanted to get the most out of it; every corner of the project would have a purpose and be functional.

From the first meeting, he fully understood what I wanted, he asked the right questions, clearly articulated any challenges, and proposed very clever complementary ideas and solution. That interview alone was enough for me to discard the competition; it was clear he was passionate about his work and will carry any project with integrity. Matt took the time to meet in more than one occasion to make sure he understood well the project scope, constraints, and objectives.

The work happened while my family and I were travelling, and I never felt nervous about coming back to bad surprise. Matt worked diligently, pausing at the right moments to ask the right questions, which in some occasions involved Zoom calls. I personally like being involved in these type of projects and at all times it felt as if we were working together for a common goal.

The end product is a beautifully built porch with 4 hidden access doors for year round storage. Matt carefully chose the placing of each piece of wood, looking for the best looking face and ensuring the continuation of the grain across door brakes and corners of the structure. With a thin shape and glass handrails, the porch looks as if it is floating.

Matt's craftsmanship is like no other, his understanding of wood, creativify and precision at executing his projects is really outstanding.

I am happy to commend Matts exceptional craftsmanship. The arbour, storage shed, fence, and deck exceeded expectations. Attention to detail, quality materials, and a keen eye for design resulted in a backyard transformation. Matt and his team built an epe deck for me, with staircase and rain management and beautiful glass railing. I have had many decks built for me over the years, Matt's workmanship is by far the best I had ever seen, period. The deck looks like a piece of expensive Italian furniture. Every bolt is in line, every square is straight, a pleasure to look at everyday. True professional, a maestro in deck building! Highly recommended!!!

Mathew built one of a kind backyard fence for us. It was a mix of cedar and composite material. It took a bit longer to get it finished but the final result was great. Im pretty sure that fence will last way longer than the actual house. Thank you Mathew. Hope to work with you again in the future

In August of 2020 the crew from M. C. WOOD INC. added a 10' by 24' cedar deck to my home. They worked every week day, with no absences, until the project was complete. Upon completion they left no mess or garbage.The workmanship is flawless. The deck is quite solid. The job was completed for the agreed upon price with no additional charges. I look forward to dealing with M.C. WOOD INC. in the near future.

I've known Matt for years and he's always come through for me. Trustworthy, reliable and very competent!

Matt from M.C. Wood has built fences and rebuilt decks for us over the past several years. He is an artist more than a builder. The deck rebuild is timeless with numerous subtle details included in the railings and stairs. The fences were re done to correct previous poor jobs and have stood the test of time.Our favourite MC Wood project is "Kid Island.A large wood platform designed and built by MC Wood complete with a large built in sand box.Our grandkids play there almost every day in the spring summer and fall. Matt is not the least expensive contractor but he is the best!

Matt built a fence for us that we are very happy with. He understood our design and executed it well, showed up as promised and did it for a fair price. I'd be happy to recommend him to others.

I am very satisfied with the entire process from beginning to the very end result. Matthew explained everything that needed to be done at the start of the project.
