Baxter Roofing

I replaced my roof just over 5 years ago and paid more for Baxter because of their supposed "quality". i am the only home on our court that used them and the only home that has had ongoing issues. In the spring I had shingles that blew right off and today my garage has a major leak. I understand that they are not operating as Baxter anymore but are operating under another name. BEWARE!!!

I have recently been contacted by this company and to my surprise, came out and fixed my leaky roof! The staff were polite and did a great job! Thanks - your actions were MUCH appreciated!!! They've also said they will now honour my warranty!

We had Baxter Roofing come to our home in 2008. They quoted us a price and unlike other roofing companies they were honest to tell us that our roof did not need immediate work done but would hold up for another couple of years. Unlike other roofing companies that were called and stated that unless we get our roof done immediately we would suffer the consequences the coming winter, such as leaks or plywood damage. We decided to take Baxter's advice and waited until the summer of 2009 to have the work completed. Baxter was very efficient,and best of all honoured the same price that was qoted more than a year earlier. This again was not the case with other roofing companies that were contacted. We would not hesitate to recommend Baxter roofing because of our positive experience and their quality workmanship. As a final note many of our neighbours have used Baxter roofing as well and seem to be very happy with their work.

We got our roof replaced in July 2009. WE found them punctual in completion the job. So far the roof seems to be OK and I am expecting that they will fulfill their warranty commitments - as that is the real TEST. Based on my experience I will recommend them for replacement of roof

I originally wrote a review on Baxter Roofing last year (2009). At that time I wasn't pleased with a couple of aspects of the job that was done and more specifically, the ridge of my roof had a noticeable "hump". The work we'd had done was back in Fall 2007 so my online review was late in coming. At the time I wrote that review I had just been introduced to the Homestars site and was thinking what a great way to both find decent contractors and also to inform other homeowners of what they can expect.

I needed to update this review because just recently (Nov 2010) Kyle, the owner of the former Baxter, came by with a crew one day, and fixed the "hump" as well as inspected the roof for any other potential issues. Kyle explained the difficulties they'd had particularly with the demands placed on Baxter due to significant wind damage to several of his customers. I can't really comment on this, since my roof has held up well, with the "hump" being an eye sore more than a functional issue.

The fact that Kyle is making the effort, at his cost, to revisit customers and address their concerns speaks volumes. First he's genuinely trying to "make it right" (is that a Holmes thing?) for his former customers. His current/future customers should reap the benefit of this. The second thing this tells me is that Homestars works.

My roof, now "hump-less", is still holding up fine and hopefully will continue to for the next 25 years. However, should I run into any roof issues, I'm now confident I can call Kyle and get the issue resolved.

Refused to honor warranty and repair roof. The shingles started to fall off during first winter after installation. A vent was shingled over. Refused to repair and became abusive and aggresive.
Does not operate from a physical address making it hard to track down.

We contracted with Baxter roofing for shingles replacement in January 2007, after the completion of the job, we realized there were several problems. The items of concern were missing roof vent, damaged window screen, damaged eaves trough, scratches on the barbeque and missing barbeque cover. We made countless phone calls and minimal telephone returns, saying the problems would be looked into and they were never looked into. We report the company to the Better Business Bureau and nothing was done. The company called us once after we reported them, and they have not to date followed up with us. The Better Business Bureau has closed the case. DO NOT HIRE BAXTER ROOFING.
