This review is long, long overdue. Last year we added an addition to our home and renovated the entire main floor. We hired John for all our carpentry work including baseboards, casings, wainscoting, ceiling beams, wall paneling and hanging interior doors. I can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions we made in our entire renovation. It became apparent early on that John really cares about the work that he does. He is fair, honest and upfront. He took the vision I had in my head and brought it to life. We are so happy with the quality of his workmanship, he is a true craftsman. On top of all that he kept the job site a happy place to be with his humour and light-hearted personality. We were sad to see the end of his part of the job but we were so glad to gain friend along the way. Do not hesitate to hire John for your carpentry needs, you will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to have him back to build our deck this spring. Thank you John!!!

John at BBG(and shout out to David the other highly skilled and amazing carpenter on-site! )was an absolute pleasure to deal with. His knowledge, skills and workmanship is Top notch, he takes great pride in his work and it shows. He always communicated his schedule and timeline to us, always was prompt and always on time. Our project was done in Cedar and dealt with tongue and groove ceiling, 4 custom posts and a beautiful gable. I would recommend John and BBG in a heartbeat! These guys were amazing.

John Groves did trim work at my home, he was was very neat, precise, had excellent workmanship and worked well with others. He completed all tasks by the expected deadline. I have used John for several jobs, would definitely use his services again, and I highly recommend him.

I was looking to have some carpentry work done on a new home I just purchased. I needed new baseboards and shoe moulds placed throughout and some new doors placed. I was referred to BBG Carpentry and Renovations by one of my trades that I have used before. So I gave John(the owner) a call and you can already tell he was already easy to talk with. He understood that I was on pressed timeline so he juggled his work to be on site same week which I thought very good customer service. On the day to completed the work he showed up on time as he promised and always stayed in contact with me with details of the work and time he was arriving. He showed up and placed all my new baseboards and trim throughout my entire new basement living area and upstairs foyer. He also placed a brand new door that never had one prior for the entrance and made it look so easy. With being a perfectionist he made sure the door was square and plum. Also with all the baseboards he was precise on his cuts and measurements. He was able to complete the entire job in once day it was amazing how efficient him and his team was. They were so clean in how they worked with no mess during or afterwards.
He also saw my wife needed 60 pound wall mirror placed in the foyer and with no hesitation and extra cost took the time to mount it, level it and secure it on the wall.
I can tell you John expertise and knowledge impressed me very much and I will always recommend him for any work in my home and to friends and family.

We hired John to complete trim carpentry including baseboards, panel moulding and chair rail. John, who apprenticed in the U.K., is the consummate professional. He prides himself on making precision mitres, properly fastening his work with glues and nails, and working in an extremely neat and fast-paced manner. John also has an engaging personality that makes for a fun relationship between homeowner and contractor.
I'm planning on John doing an exterior renovation on my Tudor home and would 100% recommend him to others looking for competitive pricing and absolutely superb work.

John framed in our ductwork and a partial wall in our basement. The work is fantastic and John was a pleasure to work with. With our very small basement, and working with low ceilings, John came up with a creative solution to maximum square footage and ensure everything looks great. Very reliable and would highly recommend John to any friends or family, he had came by the home to do measurements and installed the radiator covers the following week. I felt very comfortable with the service and found the whole process was very easy and quick.

I was extremely satisfied with BBG carpentry. John and his team were on budget and always on time. The caliber of work that was done replacing my deck I don't think I would of found any ware else for a complete deck replacement. I definitely will be using BBG Carpentry on future projects .
