I purchased a large sectional in Polyester/Cotton velvet from Decor Rests S&C line. I was quite pleased with the quality for the price point, although I know that there are upholstery manufacturers out there with much better quality. However, their prices are also just as dear. I am in my early 30s and will have children running around soon. I liked the styles and the fact that I could get a fairly good sofa that I don't have to worry about with a 3 year old running around. The cushions are not ruler straight, but it is quite an overstuffed piece, so I really don't think that they should be. The seams are fine. Yes the fabric could be a bit more luxurious, but I had decided to spend less on the couch and more on hardwoods, etc. in the house itself. It is really all about allocating your resources. Perhaps in 15 years, I will purchase something more expensive when I have fewer demands on my money. I have yet to determine the wearability of the fabric and whether or not the piece will stand the test of time as I have only had the piece in my home for 6 months. However, with regard to wearability, I find that even the most expensive of manufacturers can have fabrics that wear quicker than others in the same line and I find it depends more on the fabric type itself than it does the manufacturer. If we could all afford $10,000 custom sofas, then there would be no bad reviews, however, for this shopper, the price point was right for the size of sofa. If I get 5 years out of it, I will be less diappointed than if I got 10 years out of a much more expensive piece. I'll keep you posted on the sofa's progress.
