Very low quality standards, terrible customer service. Bad supervision of trades. They just pay a lot of lip service and provide little else. So disappointed and we weren't expecting the world from them - as we've built other homes before and understand the process and realize that sometimes things can happen or go wrong. Ashley Oaks homes was the most expensive of any buider that we've dealt with before and by far, has the worst craftmanship that we've ever seen. The supervision of the development was sketchy at best - they don't have enough foreman overseeing the trades and so a lot of bad/wrong work was allowed to pass. They are very slow to get anything done and by the time our house closed, we were missing a lot of essential elements needed before we could move in. Our 30-day Tarion list had over 50 items on it and even now, 6 months later, they hardly have fixed any of them, and the list is still growing as walls and ceilings are cracking, floors creaking, pipes starting to stink (water wasn't draining properly because the pipes were laying horizontal and not tilted to drain - so water buildup was creating a musty smell), we've had a gas leak, bumpy ceilings from an overall bad drywall job and dirt packed with garbage (containing paint cans, tires, rebar with wire sticking out of it, cement blocks and more) was dumped in our backyards disguised as clean fill. I'm sure i'm even forgetting some things too. An overall extremely disappointing experience and i will never buy from this builder again, nor recommend them to anyone - even if they fix their mistakes. People just shouldn't have to go through this to begin with.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Have more supervisors inspect their tradesmen's work and not just let anything pass. Raise the standards for craftmanship and take pride in your job - just don't slop it together and hope that the homeowners don't notice. We notice! Answer questions and inquiries in a reasonable time frame. Don't just pay lip service - do something to correct problems!
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
I would look at purchasing from another builder and and avoid Ashley Oaks homes entirely. If you already bought or committed to buy, just keep on them constantly to repair things and hound them about making the tradesmen do their job properly. Hire an inspector to go over everything with a fine tooth comb and make sure you're not stuck with things later on.
