The builder of our home used pressure treated lumber for our deck. I prefer the natural beauty and characteristics of cedar lumber, so decided to replace the pressure treated decking with western red cedar. In addition, I wanted to add a screened enclosure so we could sit out at night. I find that Perkins Lumber has the best prices, selection and quality of western red cedar in the Ottawa area. In my experience, the larger box stores tend only to carry the more common dimensional lumber rather than a good selection. Perkins Lumber also is well staffed both in the store and in the yard. You do not need to wait for someone to fill your order, or to have to load it yourself. They give you the impression that they are happy to have your business and also yourself as a customer.

As with other reviewers, we are pleased with the number of times that Kodiak shows up to remove the snow, even when it is below the amount stipulated in the contract. Any concerns, such as where the snow is blown, etc. are quickly addressed. We prefer their service of snow blowing rather than snow pushing with a blade. Discounts are also offered for confirming your annual contract ahead of time.
