I chose Mike's Carpet & Flooring based on all of the glowing reviews here on Homestars. Their prices including install are almost unbeatable. So I had Mike come out to give me an estimate on the flooring project. In the end, the estimate given to me by Mike was exactly what appeared on my final invoice which was great. When the install date arrived, the installers Jameel & Justin arrived right on time. It's great to see true professionals at their work. My townhouse is 3 levels & about 2000 sq ft. By the end of the first work day, all of the flooring was pretty much done! They came back the next morning to do the final bit of work which only took a couple more hours. I couldn't believe how fast & efficiently they worked, not to mention that the work they did looks incredible! I'm so happy with the way the floors turned out. I'm also extremely pleased with the quality of the underlay used in the carpet installation. I have a friend who used to work in the flooring industry & she always harped on me about not going cheap on the underlay. When I explained to her that the underlay was included in the carpet & install price, she had her reservations about the quality. When all the carpet was installed, I brought my friend in to have a look at it. She was so impressed with the quality of work & the quality of the underlay used. She couldn't believe it when I told her the sq ft pricing of the carpet including install & underlay! Now she's planning on re-doing the floors in her home too :) I highly reccommend Mike's Carpet & Flooring to anyone looking to have any flooring work done in their home.

I had Benchmark Painters come in to completely repaint the walls & ceilings of a 2000 sq ft, 3 level townhouse I'm renovating. I chose Benchmark based on the reviews found here on Homestars. I had a couple other painting companies come by to quote on the job & although all the quotes were very close in price, the deciding factor for me was that Benchmark takes care of everything in-house rather than having to sub-contract certain projects in my home. By that I mean they have their own internal drywallers, texture guys, moulding guys etc... So basically I only had to deal with 1 company rather than 2 or 3 different sub-contractors as well as the painters. When I first contacted Benchmark, Aaron came out give me an estimate for all the work needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable & personable & answered all of the questions I had regarding the work to be done. In the end, the initial estimate worked out to be within a couple precent of the final invoice total, mainly because there was an excessive amount of drywall repair needed to be done before the painting could commence. The 3 man crew that did the majority of the work at my townhouse were excellent! Rob, Greg, & Craig were all great to deal with & managed to finish the entire project on time & well within the budget I had initally set. My walls & ceilings look great & there are literally no signs of where any drywall patchwork was done, & believe me, there was a lot of patchwork that was done :) I even had them retexture part of my ceiling since the previous homeowner tried to smooth it out but gave up about 25% of the way in. Benchmark managed to repair & match the ceiling texture so now alll my ceilings look completely uniform. My wife & I are so pleased with the work Benchmark performed, the professionalism of their staff, & their commitment to providing their customers with some of the best customer service I've ever received. I would not hesitate to reccommend Benchmark Painters to any family, friends, or anyone else I come across looking to get some paint work done :) Thanks Benchmark for all your hard work.
