My 11 year old Noritz Tankless had died. Another company had just visited and offered to replace the unit for $7,288 (including taxes)! I called Kyle, who said this price was crazy. He came the same night after I had already paid another company for their diagnosis to confirm it couldn't be fixed. After confirming that the TWH was couldn't be repaired, he quoted me at at $4,400 (excluding taxes). What a difference! I said "yes". The job took 3-4 hours, he was punctual, neat, and very informative. Thanks for a job well done!

The light colours of my carpet and mid century furniture reflects the light in the limited space of my living room. The downside, you can see the dirt. Two carpets were picked up and cleaned offsite while we were vacationing, and Shawn took care of placing rugs that looked like new just where they belonged. Shawn hand-cleaned the mid-century sofa, loveseat, and chair plus and 2 armchairs and 2 dining chairs where hand cleaned, and then machine rinsed/wet vacuumed. Honestly just like new, and stains including a rust stain that I thought was permanent just disappeared. Shawn is warm and professional. Polaron is professional and experienced. While I am a senior citizen, I felt that it was now the time to be on the right side of history. My energy bills and savings are in line with Polaron's projections. My energy savings have reduced my energy bill by 66%, and probably more importantly, I am doing something positive for the future of our planet, with my small contribution to reducing the effect of climate change. This was a rather complicated job on an old mid-century bungalow. The work was clearly explained before commencing. It was done within very confined spaces in a finished basement and outside. Mark was courteous, arrived promptly, and did an excellent job, clearly a master plumber!!!! Highly recommended!

The existing bathroom ceiling had started to bubble and peel, likely because of the use of no primer or a poor primer and paint. I contacted Edmond on Thursday, and the work was started and finished the following Monday, yesterday. Edmond is professional, fast and courteous. The job was iterative, since new blisters were identified when the primer was applied. As a retiree, I was here for the for the duration and appreciated little extras he undertook as the plaster dried, like hiding a wire behind a baseboard, and repainting the baseboard and bottom of a living room wall, and patching and repainting a door frame that had cracked. I highly recommend Edmond for any plastering and painting, and will be hiring him again to paint a bedroom in the fall. Before and after photos attached.

My air conditioner wasn't functioning on the hottest day in June, the 22nd. I contacted HomeStars at about 8:30 am, and received a callback from Milo within a few minutes. Milo was at my home by 10 am, and diagnosed the issue within a few minutes. It involved wiring within my electrical panel which had been modified when solar panels were installed. Luckily Milo is also a licensed electrician. A new compact 30 amp breaker did the trick. The work was completed promptly. Milo is courteous, professional and quick. I know he saved me a bundle, as the solar panel company had originally proposed a sub-panel which would have cost $1,000 + tax. Highly recommended.

The team did a great job at an excellent price and everything was completed in a little more than 1/2 a day. The estimate was provided after a drone inspection of the roof. The team of 6 was courteous, thorough and clean, laying a tarp down on part of the lawn beforehand, and looked after minor trimming of the overhanging tree branches. The contract included: supplying/installing CRC Biltmore shingles, Certainteed Winterguard along bottom 3 feet, Certainteed Diamond Deck underlayment, drip edge and adding an air vent.

I thought devils were in my house: After having a handyman change a switch, strange electrical malfunctions begain in my house: two stoves lost power without tripping any breaker, while the time display continued; my LED lights began changing colours, and ceiling LEDs began to randomly turn off and on, and my air conditioning shut down on a hot Saturday afternoon. I spent most of the remainder of the day trying to figure this out by myself. Sunday morning, I went to HomeStars looking for someone I could trust. I called Trini Electric at 8 am. Kaum answered the phone, and said he would be happy to help given the urgency... I stepped out to go to the hardware store for a few minutes when I received a call from my spouse at 11. By the time I got home at 11:15, Kaum and his son had carried out their diagnosis and called the city electrical utility. The issue was I was missing a phase - the issue was with the feed to my house. Kaum, his son and daughter waited with me until the service truck arrived - they insisted. We sat on the back porch and chatted like old friends. Luckily the electrical service vehicle as in the area arriving at about 11:40 am. They replaced connectors on the post on my house and on the hydro pole. Shortly past noon, they asked me to check if everything was working, and it was! Thanks Kaum for coming out on a Sunday, for your fast service and great price. Your personable nature put me at ease and I was able to enjoy the rest of the weekend at peace.

My light-coloured fabric covered mid-century teak sofa, love seat and chair and six dining room chairs needed a little extra care. When David finished with them they looked like new... just in time for the holiday season. He was courteous, punctual, thorough, and his prices where competitive.

Skylights Unlimited exceeded my expectations. Denis, who provided the original estimate, was a very helpful in describing my options. I felt I was working with a design consultant and not a salesperson. The price was great. Eddo and Chris showed up punctually and completed the work in 2 days. At the end of each day the kitchen and bathroom were left spotless. Pictures from inside the attic and from the top were emailed to me. I had no idea a skylight could lighten up a space, and transform the mood of my little 1952 bungalow as it did. Susan and Tina, thanks for your thoughtful follow-up. Definitely very satisfied.

This is not the first time I have used Dry Worx. Dave and his crew provided me with a quote for 15 feet of excavation, on an old 1950s home. The work was completed in 2 days. Dave placed a tarp over the lawn and driveway, and removed shrubs I wanted to replace, and by the end of the second day, my home looked like nothing had happened. Great work! Thank you Dave!

We were very impressed with the pricing point and work of Omega. Yuri and I spend some time rethinking the way we wanted to upgrade my old windows (aluminum with lower sliders). Maximum light, air exchange, clean lines, UV protection. Seven windows were replaced in just over 4 hours. Thank you Yuri and team!

After deliberating some time on replacing my old water heater with a new tankless water heater, I finally decided to take the step. My home is an older smaller 1952 bungalow, with a basement unit built in. The benefits not only include an environmentally friendly home, and energy savings, but as it turns out, the elimination of carbon monoxide risk from the home since now both my furnace and water heater are externally vented. In addition, there is no need for a furnace room, so space is freed up. After agreeing on the contract, I met with Renato briefly on the morning of the installation. When I arrived home, I had my new water heater installed, the old water heater and all waste removed from my property, and the space cleaned up very well. Thank you Renato for a great job!

A rental unit in the basement had a damp corner in the living room, and a small leak in the cold room under the front landing where from a crack where the stairs met the foundation. I had several small sections along the outer wall excavated some 12 years ago. Two companies recommended a water containment system, in one case with a sump pump installation, which would have involved practically gutting half of the basement for a damp but never wet corner. Dave of Dry Worx offered a good price for 8 feet of excavation, blue skin membrane application and the application of drain board. In addition the 7 foot crack along the stairs was cleaned and filled with a cement plastic mix. The excavation was done by neatly by hand. The job was completed in a day, and all debris was removed from the site. Dave was professional in dealing with me his client. Good job.

Joao installed a central air conditioning unit on an existing furnace, and came in as the most economical installation after shopping around. That was several years ago. After another company told me that I had a leak this spring and that I would need to replace the unit (some 5 years later), Joao came by and advised that there was NO leak. The air conditioning unit has worked perfectly through this very hot summer.
