Saturday night, water was coming up through the basement bathtub drain and toilet. I called the emergency number, Juan called me back in 5 minutes, and was at my place in an hour. There were many complications and he ended up being there for over four hours, but wouldn't leave until the problem was diagnosed and fixed. He approached the issue from every direction possible and we were so grateful. DanMac will continue to be my go-to plumbing guys!

At 4:30 in the morning, on the Saturday of the Labour Day weekend, a massive limb from my American elm crashed into mine and a neighbour's house. Tree was healthy and there was no weather, so it was a complete shock. Called several "24-hour" emergency tree services and got voice mail. Called Aaron and he was at my house by 6:30am. He assessed, quoted, trimmed some dangerous overhang and said he'd be back the next day. His entire crew was away for the long weekend, but he was there at 9am and worked solo for 6 hours to lighten the branches as much as he could. On Monday he had a crew of four, a wood chipper and a cherry picker at my place by 9am and they worked a 10-hour day among opinionated/panicky neighbours to get it done. They came back the next day to finish the last of it and clean up the yard. They left the exact wood I asked for, the yard was spotless, they were polite but firm with the neighbours, and I never doubted they would be there when they said they would. Aaron is professional, honest, nice and kind of fun. I will never use another company again and would recommend them to absolutely anyone. I wish they did roofing, HVAC, plumbing, concrete, etc, as well!

There's no doubt these guys do a great job. I waited 3 or 4 months for them to get to my roof, but the crew sent was huge, there were four layers of shingles to strip, and the work site was kept immaculate. The roof looks great. The one quibble I have was with a back mud room. The shingles on it were new, but Jason said because of the low pitch, it should be treated as a flat roof. I agreed, even though, as I said, the shingles were fine. I signed the quote. Then when the guys came to do the roof, apparently the quote was for shingles and treating it as a flat roof would be extra. This made no sense to me. In the end, it didn't matter because the wood was all rotten and needs to be torn down. I was still charged the full quote of $13,000 which was way higher than any other quote I got for just the main roof. So, I'd give them 10/10 for quality, but 7/10 for pulling the "flat roof is extra" switcheroo. I felt like I'd been had.

It's tiny, and usually dusty. But don't be put off. I visited at least 12 other well-known tile stores in the city, and they don't carry anything you can't get right here. The in-stock tile is well-priced, and the custom order tile is boundless. The guys who work there are amazingly helpful. I ended up getting some custom tile from California that was pricey, but one of a kind, for an accent wall and some plain white in stock tile for the rest of the bathroom. It's gorgeous.

I quoted three companies, and frankly, Ambia was the most expensive. However, Igor took such time with us, explained everything better than anyone else, was not at all pushy, gave us incredibly comprehensive drawings, and was generally so great, we decided we had to find the extra money to go with Ambia. He took the proper measurements at the consultation and was also the installer. He and his crew installed in a day, cleaned up, and were a pleasure to have around. I would recommend Ambia to anyone.

I called this morning, they came the same day, gave me a quote on the spot and took everything away. I just had four heavy concrete pavers, a pile of upcycled maple flooring I couldn't use, a couple of old wood doors and a few odds and ends. Super-nice people, reasonable price, I could not be more pleased!

Pierce is great and very professional. He clearly takes pride in his company and his work. I got three quotes that were all within $200 of each other, but went with TTT based on their reviews. TTT pulled down and disposed of all my old eavestrough and put up new, which really looks great. My only complaint would be the team he sent didn't show up on the day they were supposed to and I never really got an explanation. They did show up on time the next day. They left a few bits and pieces of metal debris around, that we had to clean up, but overall TTT is very pleasant to deal with.

Firstly, Donna and Mil are such nice, trustworthy people, they're a real pleasure to deal with. They come, they work their hours, they clean up and they come back the next day. True professionals. I had wallpaper put up in my entranceway and up the stairs, really an awkward job. Mil is absolutely top-notch. The paper is absolutely perfect and I would recommend them without reservation. The paint was a light colour going over another light colour and I thought the old colour showed through in a few places, especially on the ceiling and around the pot lights. The hallway is quite dark so perhaps it was hard to see. It probably needed a second coat.

I'll just add my kudos to Boris' ever-growing list. In short, Boris knows exactly what he's talking about, is punctual, competitively-priced and only seems to hire similar people. The two guys who showed up did a great job, explained everything well, solved some unforeseen problems and even vacuumed when they were done. As a single home owner who knows nothing about this sort of thing, I felt very comfortable and that I was treated fairly. I'd recommend this company to anyone.

I wanted all the sod in my front yard removed to plant flowers and grasses. A tough job that would have taken me an entire weekend to finish. Nick showed up right on time, worked so hard and cheerfully, and had it done in three hours. I will be calling them again in the future and have already recommended them to several friends. Just a pleasant, no-fuss, easy company to deal with,

My 14 year old furnace conked out late spring and I thought I should get it fixed and cleaned before the snow came! After calling three other companies on this site, twice each, with no response, I called Peter. He called me back in 10 minutes and we made an appointment. He called to confirm, showed up on time, called twice with updates on the problem (I had to leave for work), drove to Markham to get parts and finished the job by noon. As a new homeowner, he also gave me tips on how to keep it running properly. His card is in my "home binder" for future reference and I would recommend this company to anyone.
