10 years in a subdivision home which we felt was definitely at the better end of subdivision homes, well laid out rooms and a beautiful corner lot near Boyd conservation area. With business in infancy and the other getting busier, there ended up being less money to spend on furniture. we had just gotten married and put most of the money 'incorrectly' into just the house with nothing left to decorate. 10 years with pretty much empty rooms, lame colours and in 2006 we were finally ready to finish the basement and do something in the kitchen. It quickly become a full out three storey-move out for 12 month project. And worth every -single-penny and all the time it took. It's now our mecca for entertaining but mostly for having family and friends over anytime they want. Jeffrey and his team were simply unbelievably. I used to poo poo the 'd' word - i.e. 'designer'. I heard nightmares... everything from cost - to how they fought with the contractors etc.. But it was anything BUT that. Jeffrey accomodated US and met us every two weeks at 7:00 a.m. and so began the 6 month 'drawings' and story of our 'soon' to be new 'home'. he turned it into a true 'home'. He seemed to know perfectly what my husband and I might not agree on and somehow found the perfect answer. He knew where to help us save money and where to spend it for our lifestyle in the home. He created an extra 500 sq. ft. in the house! He helped choose contractors and the most ironic part... the kitchen manufacturer indicated that jeff's drawings were so close to his shopping drawings he had little left to do. The main general contractor worked right in sync with Jeff - it was amazing how smoothly it went. Jeff paid such close to attention and even came again much later into the project to help over a small dispute on a budget item. It got solved in a matter of an hour. He has a genuine respect for the contractor and vice versa. They don't view him as just a 'designer'... nor did we. a.-he's become a friend as his his whole staff who treat us likey family and b.-he's not just a designer.. he's a 'creator'... he has vision 'for' you through your eyes and makes it reality. His entire team is right there with him. if he's busy - it's only because he has the right people with him and he won't settle for less. They are incredibly attentive and follow his incredible vision. We can't wait to finish our one spare room upstairs. We feel like we're in a magazine and we still have that 'awesome' feeling every time we enjoy every room in our home. theatre nights in our basement ar our favourites and trust us, it's a tiny basement but Jeff made it seem like a theatre. His referrals of auxiliary trades/landscapers /artwork galleries... it's equally as visionary as his own and helped the overall picture come together in a way we couldn't have imagined. he created a 'home' not a museum piece and the 'comfort' we wanted, never to be bored! He's a gentleman and genuinely down to earth person who clearly is passionate about what he does. Jeffrey - you are the 'only' designer anyone should have create their home with! George and Cathy
