I used Kamfair Drapes over 20 years ago when I first moved into my home. When it was finally time to refresh and update the blinds and drapes around the home along with some interior renovation we were doing, we called Kamfair again for their service. It was evident from the get-go and comforting to know that they have not lost their excellent customer service and great attention to detail after all these years. Andrew was patient in providing us with samples, catalogs and offering valuable advice and opinions on the various products available to us. He helped us narrow down our choices and gave us really good ideas. He offered us honest opinions and recommendations on products based on our budgets and needs, not just trying to upsell us on the most expensive products in the market. He was always available when we had questions, and he was always on schedule when we made appointments with him. Andrew's attention to detail and excellent workmanship are clearly evident when he came to our home to take measurements and to install the blinds. I can tell from his many years of experience in the industry that the end product he'll be installing will not only look great, but will be carefully made to fit the window openings down to the millimeter. Everything from how smooth the blinds operate to how they will always just miss the window crank handle as they are lowered speaks to Andrew's expertise and his workmanship. I was extremely pleased with the blinds Andrew installed for us. I will always recommend Andrew and his Kamfair team to anyone with window covering needs.

My 15-year-old house needed new shingles and after researching online and talking with friends and other homeowners in our neighbourhood, we decided to get a quote from Alpine Roofing as we had heard and read good things about this contractor. We were particularly comprehensive about hiring a fly-by-night contractor who might disappear or change their names from season to season. Alpine Roofing has been in the business for decades and has an excellent reputation, which gave us the peace of mind that they would stand behind their workmanship for years to come. The project estimator, John, listened to our needs and was respectful of our budget when providing his detailed estimate for the work. The quote outlined every detail of the work to minimize surprises. We had a number of clarifications and details that we wanted to add to the quote, and John was very quick with providing an explanation and having the quote revised. We were extremely happy with the promptness and his patience in answering all of our questions and addressing all of our concerns. The final quote was not the cheapest, compared with other contractors, but it was also not the most expensive. What did set Alpine Roofing apart from the rest was communication and response time. Having hired contractors in the past for other home renovation projects, the key was not necessarily getting a good price, but to engage a contractor who is available and willing to listen to our concerns at every step of the project. And John did not disappoint. After signing off on the final quote, the material was delivered promptly, and the crew began work as promised by John. During the installation of the shingles, John remained in communication and was accessible by phone, text message or email, even outside of business hours. Any concerns we had was promptly conveyed to the foreman on-site. Any issues were addressed to our satisfaction right away. John even came by the house personally when his input was needed. With every home renovation projects, a few hiccups are expected along the way. John was always very accommodating with our input and concerns, and he was very receptive to our needs. He understood and shared the same goal as us, which was to have the project completed to our satisfaction. I’m very glad to have hired Alpine Roofing for our shingle replacement needs. While searching for a General Contractor for our 800 sq. ft. basement, I read many, many reviews on HomeStars and I often wondered if the Home Improvement People’s high rating was a true indicator of the quality of their work. I can now say without a doubt that it really does! We hired The Home Improvement People (THIP) after having Elia come to our home for an estimate. This was after we had numerous contractors come do the same. THIP wasn’t the cheapest, but they were easily at the low end of the range of estimates we had received. More importantly, Elia had the patience, professionalism and courtesy that gave us confidence over the other contractors. He responded promptly to my calls and to my emails, and he was punctual in meeting scheduled appointments. He was never pushy, always willing to answer our questions and was always honest with his opinions, ideas and suggestions. After we signed the contract and before the start of the project, Elia was always available to answer the many questions we had while we finalized our basement design. Once the project got going, we had the pleasure to meet and work with THIP’s crew, led by their foreman Caio, with his sidekicks Fabiano and William. They were friendly, approachable, down-to-earth, hard-working, courteous, and very accommodating to our daily schedule. They held themselves and their subcontractors to the highest standards and they never cut corners, rushed, or settled on a sub-par job. They always cleaned up after themselves before leaving at the end of the day, and they were always available to talk to us when we had questions or concerns. They were quick to respond to our concerns and promptly addressed deficiencies along the way. We were very fortunate to have worked with such a stellar crew. We would not hesitate to recommend THIP to anyone looking for a good general contractor for projects big and small. A few months ago, I was researching on ideas for a home theatre set-up for my basement renovation. I wanted to create a closet to house all my AV equipment, but I didn't have a lot of space to work with. I had found numerous ideas on the internet and had many questions.
