We just moved in to a new place and had nothing but trouble with the drain the kitchen. No amount of "liquid plumber" helped. This morning it was completely blocked. I called roto rooter and Matt came out to our place within a few hours! He was on time and was very professional. He did a very thorough job snaking out the drain from several places in the house. It turned out to be a really bad clog from years of the previous owners dumping grease/oil down the drain. Their service isn't cheap - but to be honest, you get your money's worth - it is not an easy (or clean) job and they really know what they are doing. They are also very good about responding very quickly to calls, so this is also factored in. Thanks again!

We inherited a big mess when we moved into our new 'older' home. After dealing with mice in the attic, we discovered that years of mice infestations had left the attic a total mess. We decided to go with All Wildlife because they not only take care of the critters and critter proofing, but also specialize in attic work. They came out, found several entry points including one a previous wildlife company missed. They mouse-proofed the entire exterior and after a few weeks with a one-way door installed, they came back and removed all of the old insulation and disinfected the attic. They were very accommodating as we wanted the old insulation removed and attic disinfected without re-filling right away. We left it empty so that we could get exhaust fans and lights installed by an electrician (this actually saved us a lot of money due to ease of access). When they came back, they installed a poly vapor barrier, fixed soffit ventilation problems and got the insulation up to R-60 spec. The staff that came out were hard working and friendly. I really liked the fact that they guarantee their work for 5 years and I found that their pricing was reasonable - especially when you consider that they do proofing, cleanout, disinfection and re-fill instead of having to go with multiple contractors for this work. Overall, I was quite pleased and would recommend All Wildlife.

Our water tank was on it's way out, so we called Coretemp to get a new Rinnai RU98i tankless unit. Richard and his team did a great job with the install. They were on time, very courtious, friendly and kept the work area very clean. Richard's attention to detail is very apparent in his work - the way he setup the venting, the drain line, wall mounted the unit, insulated the openings - everything was done with great care, organization and cleanliness. (I can be very picky about these details, so I was very pleased). This is the second time we've dealt with Coretemp - they installed our furnace and AC last year - and would not hesitate to recommend them for any HVAC projects. Galaxy Windows replaced all of our windows (14 very old single pane windows) and a door for us. Dimitry came over within a day or two of calling him and did a walk through of our home and explained all of our options. He was very thorough and explained the pros and cons of each window type in each location and helped us to make good informed decisions. He also took the time to explain modern window technology to us, and brought a sample window as well. What most impressed us about Galaxy was the excellent quality of the windows they use - they are beautiful looking, energy efficient and very solidly built. We found that their pricing was very reasonable as well - especially when you consider the quality of the windows. The installers were highly skilled, very hard working and friendly. Their attention to detail was very apparent and they took great care to ensure a clean finish around each window both inside and out. They arrived on time, and worked just about non-stop all day. The finished product is everything we had hoped - energy efficient, solid hardware and locks, very quiet and great looking. My wife and I bought an older fixer-upper with a 25+ year old furnace and AC unit. The AC limped through the summer months and barely worked, but once we started running the furnace, it was obvious that there was a problem - the unit was very loud and vibrated horribly. Based on positive HomeStars reviews, we called Richard from Coretemp to assess the situation for us and see if it would be worth repairing the furnace. Richard picked up the phone immediately and even arranged to drop by that same evening. Within ten minutes, he identified several problems including a vent motor that was just about toast - unbalanced and had a bad seal. He also discovered a cracked heat exchanger, which was a serious safety issue requiring the gas to the furnace to be shut off. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the cracked heat exchanger, but he even inserted a special camera right into the furnace's internals to confirm and show me. Sure enough, it was badly cracked in several places. This would obviously be an expensive repair, so we decided that we'd just replace the furnace. Richard explained the problems to us in great detail and spent time going over our options. What I liked most was that he was very low-pressure and didn't push us at all. He simply gave us our options, was very patient with my many questions and even encouraged us to do our own research and compare pricing. We decided to stick with Coretemp because of their fair pricing, reputation, Richard's experience, and the fact that he doesn't sub-contract out any of the work. In the end, we decided to replace the AC and humidifier as well as they barely worked and were on their last legs. We really liked the higher end, high-efficiency Lennox gear that Richard showed us (especially the SLP98 furnace, which is awesome). After giving the go-ahead, Richard was able to schedule the install just a couple of days later. He arrived on time with two other technicians, Eric and Nolan and were all very hard working, professional and very friendly. After about six hours, they had the old units removed, everything installed and very thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. Richard even took the time to show me the cracks again from the outside once they had the old furnace disassembled. Richard asked us questions every step of the way to ensure everything was installed and positioned in the way we wanted, including the AC unit and drain/exhaust piping. Their attention to detail was very apparent, and although I'm not an HVAC expert, I could definitely see that they did quality work. Once finished, he spent time going over the operation of everything, how to send out for the rebates, and gave us a demo of the really nifty icomfort touch-screen thermostat (which is also awesome). We couldn't be happier with the furnace and the AC unit - what an incredible difference - and very quiet too! Overall, I'd have to say that we were extremely satisfied with this experience from beginning to end and would not hesitate to recommend Coretemp to anyone looking to get their furnace or AC replaced or serviced. My wife and I bought an older 60s/70s era fix-er-upper with a packed fuse panel and funky wiring within. We contacted several electrical contractors to get a new breaker panel installed, but we went with HotWire because of their fast and professional response, detailed explanation of the process and their competitive price. Now that the work is finished, we can confidently say that we made the right choice. It really seems that they have panel changes down to a science and work like a well-oiled machine. The two electricians who came in were awesome - right on time, very professional and hard working. I've always been interested in electrical, so asked many questions during the work, and they were very friendly and happy to chat/educate about all things electrical. The whole process was very smooth - from the initial contact and quoting to the scheduling, to the Hydro disconnect and reconnect, to the ESA inspection. They had us disconnected, upgraded, inspected and reconnected in just a little over four hours. The panel wiring is extremely organized, and I am amazed that they could clean it up that well based on the prior state. We can definitely sleep easier now knowing that our panel wiring is safe and all up to code. Overall, we were extremely pleased with HotWire and would highly recommend them. Thanks again!

Balazs and his team installed and site-finished white oak on our entire main floor. Originally we were not sure if we wanted to go the site-finished route, but after doing some research and talking to Balazs, we were convinced. Now that the floor is completed, we couldn't be happier - it looks absolutely fantastic. We went with a natural colour and a matte finish to enhance the appearance of the wood. There are virtually no gaps between the planks, and the floor is so solid, smooth, flat and even. They did a great job securing the subfloor prior to installing the wood too. It used to squeak quite a bit but is solid as a rock now. Balazs uses high end sanding and other equipment and only top quality Bona finishes. He also gave us many tips and suggestions to consider since we will be doing some other tiling projects and he made sure the floor thresholds would accommodate these. He and his team were very professional, on time, courteous and friendly. They kept everything very clean throughout the install, with very little dust. The smell from the finish was actually not very strong at all and dried quicker that we expected too. Balazs is very passionate about what he does, and this is very evident in the quality of his work. I'm sure we could have paid a bit less if we went with a pre-finished floor elsewhere, but for only a small amount more we got a very high quality floor that is no comparison at all. It was worth every penny. I'd highly recommend traditional hardwood flooring to anyone who wants a high quality site finished floor. Thanks again Balazs!

My wife and I hired Vito to conduct a home inspection of an older 60s era home. This is actually the third inspection Vito has done for us in the last 7 years and we could not be happier! Vito is very thorough, checks everything and really takes the time to explain all of his findings. We knew this home was older and needed some work, but Vito identified many electrical and plumbing problems we would have never found on our own. Many of these were very serious safety concerns. He provided an excellent digital report complete with lots of photos, information and recommendations. Thanks to Vito's help, I went from being very apprehensive and worried about the state of the home and property to being informed about the corrective actions needed and excited about it's potential.
